good location Staff on check in offhanded. The room was small, many appliances were damaged. At night someone made a lot of noise on guitar. The room was very cold and outside noise stopped you from having a good rest. Bathroom did not look clean. Everything looked old and tired.

Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed. The staff we met were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast - there was a small choice of continental style breakfast - fruit juices, bread, waffles, cheese, yogurts; but there was also a cooked breakfast choice which was nice. The staff at breakfast were very helpful and pleasant. For a budget hotel I would recommend this, the bed was very comfortable and although a little way out of the city, there are plenty of buses you can hop onto. If you are arriving late though, be aware that the hotel no longer serves evening meals, so you will have find something else. There is a pub about 5 mins walk from the hotel, but we arrived at 8.45pm and they were so busy we were turned away. All the main restaurants are in the city which is a 5-10 minute drive, so it may be worth planning to eat before you arrive at the hotel. It has to be remembered this is a 2 star hotel, but there are some aspects that need changing. The wooden toothbrush holder in the bathroom - this had clearly seen better days, cobwebs and dust on it and not something I would consider putting my toothbrush on! The bathroom was functional, but it does require a little attention in places - the window blind was full of mildew. The towels were frayed on the edges. The pictures on the walls are looking tired; it would appear that the owners have attempted to improve and update some aspects of the hotel, unfortunately they have not continued it throughout and therefore loses its identity as to what they are trying to achieve. The walls are a little thin as we could hear the elecric meter ticking the other side of our wall, and it was clear to hear people coming and going to their rooms.

Location good for Oxford city. Good lock on room door. Room to hot and not able to turn heating down. Old fashioned. Leak in bathroom = toilet flushing system which led to a smell. Ill fitting windows. Towels fraying and holes. Other noisey guests.

Staff were very rude and unaccommodating, I was staying here with a group of friends and as we all had different rooms we wanted to chat together in one room however the hotel lady followed us round and demanded that we must each stay in our own rooms or meet in reception only! The room itself was old fashioned and dirty, I woke up with ants crawling up my arm. The next day at 11am on the dot the same hotel lady walked into our room without waiting for me to open the door and told us we had to go now! Very rude and I will not stay here again.

The breakfast was ok Well, where do I start??? The room was filthy with insects in the bed! The shower trickled water and the kettle must have been bought soon after electricity was first invented. My biggest complaint though would have to be the rudeness of the male receptionist when I checked out in the morning. He had wrongly charged my room to someone else's credit card!! When I pointed out his mistake to him, he claimed he would prove he was right and stormed away, returning a minute later with my credit card details printed on a sheet of paper (this is enough to frighten anyone!). I then shown him that the numbers on this against the till receipt didn't match....I Then think the penny dropped! He didn't even apologise and just said he would sort it out. I'd hate to be the person who's card he had charged in the first instance....for that I can only apologise, as you are unlikely to get an apology off them!!!
