Fast wifi, quiet room. Nice breakfast.
We arrived there early evening, double room was booked. We wanted to buy water for the night and asked at the reception if there were any shops around there. 'No take away allowed. Don't bring food in your room!' We did not even mention about food, just asked where the local shops were. She said there was only small be near by. We also asked the direction to the museum we wanted to go on the next day. 'I don't know. take a taxi, there is no bus till 8 on Sunday.' We found the way to the town centre only 10 min walk. The museum was also near by. We found it ourselves. Very unhelpful and the way she tell us these was very rude. Back home, I found my body full of insect bite. Can't think of anything else but bed bug bites. We remember the room was very hot and stuffy.
Excellent location with only a 20min walk to oxford centre! Cute little double room with everything we needed for our stay! Hotel a little creaky and old so thought we might hear other guests moving around but heard nothing and the shower was great! The cooked breakfast was also excellent! Altogether no complaints from us and great value for money!
Breakfast was OK
The property is more of a B&B than a hotel. No bar or restaurant.
Clean room, comfortable beds and good breakfast. Good location near the city centre, within easy walking distance. Easy parking at the rear of the hotel.
The price was a lot less than city centre hotels. The room was clean, the water hot and the bed comfortable. I have stayed at the Randolph and the Victoria represents much better value for money even considering the fiver cab fare into town. We were allowed to park our car even after checking out without having to ask to do so.
The sausages for breakfast.
Friendly staff comfortable and peaceful environment
A little outdated but fine
very clean - was able to leave car in car park - short walk to town but also good bus service
I thought the hotel was excellent for the money I paid staff were friendly and room was great.
Quiet and convenient for the city. Good parking!
Friendly staff, clean bedroom/bathroom,plenty of choice at breakfast after we checked out they let us park our car whilst we walked into Oxford.(with the price and limited space to park near the city centre it's a bonus)
A little bit dated
The staff was wonderful -- courteous and helpful.
A bit of a walk to downtown.
The hotel is accessible, close to the city with secure parking. It is quiet inside and you get a good night's sleep. Cooked breakfast is served promptly, it is hot and there is plenty of choice including cold food and vegetarian options. Classical radio plays in the background. The rooms are serviced every day, even on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. It is a family run hotel where members of staff are friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The décor and lighting are restful to the eye. This is an ideal place to stay for visitors who wish to be within walking distance of the city but are not seeking lively night life in their hotel.
I did not notice a lift, the stairs are steep and the corridors are narrow so it might not be accessible for people with mobility problems. However I did not ask for a lift, so this might not be an issue.
Had a really comfortable, quiet stay - over Christmas when some hotels might be rowdy. Spotlessly clean, warm, and the staff are very polite and friendly. The breakfast is not a gourmet experience but ample, with choice of cooked dishes, and the fresh fruit salad is a nice tough. Don't stay here if you need buzzing atmosphere and up-to-the-minute decor. It has an old-fashioned feel. But I've stayed in many 3-star hotels with less peace & quiet and comfort.
Easy location for city centre. Bed was very comfortable. Friendly staff and room was very clean
the stuff was not helpful
I was very disappointed with the standard of finish and what was provided in room . Shower was a joke . Would never go back .
The location was nice and the feel from outside looking at the hotel was good .
Breakfast and value for money.
A little tired, and needed a better clean in places. Overall good value for money.
Head board on bed was hanging off. Wifi didn't work Room overlooked a main road. Noisy
The music during breakfast and the man serving.
Very old furniture and bathroom. Very expensive for such an old place. 15-20 minutes walk from the centre. I won't stay again.
Staff were helpful, beds were comfy, good location ten minutes walk into town.
very friendly people clean comfortable accommodation
Enjoyable stay in a conveniently situated hotel. Good breakfast.
15-20 mins to centre. Great breakfast. Lots of parking space. They kindly let us leave our car there the next day while we did some more sightseeing.
Traffic noise in front bedroom.
Free parking. Hot water in the morning.
No hot water at 5pm. The bed was uncomfortable, pillows of poor quality. Breakfast was fair to poor quality. Facilities are dated and poorly maintained.
