The food was excellent, a very good selection. The meals were of a large proportion, but the staff were very helpful and split the meal between the two of us as we are not very big eaters. Thank you

Booked a bath - no bath Booked a superior double - got a twin pushed together with ridge in middle Seaview restarant with view of marquis and no sea out of date accompaniments for food - bad food & hygeine checks even after informed, same problem next morning just seemed chatoic without real care No dogs on onternet - dog friendly sign outside It's like on one really knows what's going on or exactly what role this hotle should have

A fabulous, Victorian building in a beauiful location. Every member of staff we spoke to was helpful and friendly.

A wasted opportunity - what could have been a relaxing, luxurious hotel felt like a cheap bed & breakfast. The deluxe room was very small and there was no hot water in the morning for a shower. The breakfast was truly awful and comparable to a poor B&B. Breakfast is only served between 8.30-9.30 so all guests were squeezed into the breakfast room at the one time. 50S music blaring and a choice of The Mail or The Mirror to read – I’ve never been to a Butlins type holiday camp but I imagine the experience would be similar. All guests were required to make their own toast so had to share one of those dreadful toasters which only appear in budget accommodation and specialise in making either hot soggy bread or burnt toast. This was not a relaxing experience. If room service isn’t an option then at the very least extend the hours breakfast is available and buy a toaster and a few toast racks! Small touches such as asking guests if they would like a paper delivered to their room, quality table linen and napkins and squeezing one less table into the dining room would make a big difference.

Staff were great .. very cheerful and helpful .. lovely room with a sea view and our bed was extremely comfortable .. never stayed here before but will definitely be coming back .. we were on a walking/bird-watching/cycling break for three days and couldn't have picked a better place .. very enjoyable!

The hotel was extremely clean, had large bedrooms immaculately kept and the staff were exceptional. The room had a fantastic view of the bay and there was plenty of safe parking for guests. Food was excellent, can not fault this hotel at all.

Everything - a lovely, comfortable hotel. Enjoyed excellent customer care. Good quality food. Clean and spacious room including balcony to enjoy the hotel's fabulous views of the bay.

the view over the bay is beautiful. we like walking and the walk over the clifffs to whitby was stunning, found lovely eating places, very friendly people

Lovely part of the country. Very clean and good food. The bar had a great selection of beers.

We love the location and the fabulous rooms. Free car parking is an absolute bonus, considering how hard it is to park in The Bay. Free Wi Fi is also a great plus. The staff are so helpful and friendly.

We wish the breakfast and check out times were just an hour later, especially at weekends.

Booked a luxury room with a view so was expecting better based on reviews read. No luggage service or elevator to take your own luggage up to room. Mattress was old lumpy and uncomfortable. Furniture in room was falling to pieces. When booking website said room came with bath and shower but only came with shower. Shower was more more of a dribble and would not stay hot. Food in bar was expensive and tasted dreadful. Hot breakfast was also not very good, ingredients tasted cheap.

We have stayed there before and can't wait to go back. Its just like a home from home.

Adverse weather conditions made the hotel hall and landings very draughty because the wind blew straight onto the front door. Saturday morning in dining room was very cold but all was put right by the evening.

The staff are fantastic nothing is to much trouble! Food is top quality and the value is second to none! Rooms are luxury standard.

The location was excellent. Staff were very welcoming and the breakfast staff were particularly helpful and obliging. Our room was large but the double bed was rather small although the room was described as a "King Double".

The staff were very friendly and professional. The setting of the hotel great(when the weather is right).The food ecellent and the breakfast set us up for the day.

There was a peculiar smell in the bathroom which they tried to eliminate.
