Emphelenswert. |

The staff were fantastic, very helpful, very friendly and welcoming - they are a happy team and include the customers in that. It's worth going just for that. The food is very acceptable but nothing *very* special - the steak and ale pie is a bowl of stew with (what is called in the trade) a 'floater' - i.e. a wodge of puff pastry on top. The sausages were great. As were the steaks. We ate there every night of three and were happy to return every time. BTW, due to the limitations of the reporting system, I've put down 'solo traveller' because there's nothing that matches 'bloke with elderly father'. Just information you need to know: The pub has very little of the original left. What there is now is very nicely decorated in the 'tack-on beams' style. It's a great place to stay and use as a base, but it's on a (tiny) industrial estate. You don't notice or care when you are inside, though. It's a great central location to explore from by car, but it's a couple of miles from the village. The rooms are not olde worlde over-the-bar rooms, they are in a (superb) lodge tacked on the side (and therefore really quiet). This is, as I say, not a complaint, just telling you where it didn't match what I was expecting. I would go back there any time. Even if you are in the restaurant, you still have to order at the bar. |

Helpful and friendly staff; well appointed and comfortable room; food generally acceptable - breakfasts offered great choice and good value, however second evening's dinner somewhat disappointing. |

Staff, and location - very handy for both coasts of Cornwall. Very clean and tidy and friendly staff. Location - was isolated but between the two coasts which was the advantage as well. Nothing to do in the evening though. Meals not brilliant, but ok. |

What we liked about our stay, it was close to the places we wanted to Visit it had good parking. We found it hard to find as we thought it was in St Austell and had to get directions to the hotel from the Library, who were very helpful, we should have got the directions from the internet but had forgotten. |

We enjoyed our stay at Victoria Inn. The location is very close to the motorway and easy to find. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean. Own carpark. The room was very clean and tidy, comfortable and not noisy. Every facility worked. The restaurant is brilliant and I had probably the best Steak, Mushroom and Ale pie of my life. |
