THE staff alolowed me to take a shower on the morning of check in. THE breakfast was pentiful and really good value at just 3.50. Electrical things broken in my room: neither ceiling light nor shaver point worked (so I could not use my electric toothbrush...) serving staff insisted on clearing my table (my 3 companions finished eating before I did and left the table) whilst I was in the middle of eating breakfast. I asked them to wait until I had finished eating but they refused. The bedrooms were a bit on the chilly side. Huge windows but relatively small/poorly positioned radiators

Within walking distance of all amenities visited The attitude of the chef. No senior staff available to deal with customers. Not enough staff on duty to provide a service for the amount of customers. Bedding was sparse therefore spent a cold night. Bathroom was tiny, the shower did not produce enough water and it was cold.

This hotel is perfectly situated for a city trip into the heart of Glasgow. It's a short walk from Sauchiehall Street and 10 minutes saunter to Buchanan Street Bus Station. A tale of two visits - last time myself and my daughter stayed at the Victorian we had a nice room at the back of the hotel, it was quiet and relaxed. On the strength of that experience I booked again and it couldn't have been more different - and sadly much worse. What right-minded hotel books a young family into a room right at the front door of an inner city hotel on a Saturday night with a construction site right outside just to add to the noise?! Yes, they resumed work again at 8am on a Sunday morning! Add to that the constant noise of guests returning from midnight to 3am and a night porter who shouted his conversations with residents long into the small hours. An absolute joke. We will NEVER be back. Pay extra to avoid such a poor hotel and service.

Was right in the centre of Glasgow so great location. Excellent breakfast. WiFi worked well (note: you have to ask for the password at reception). Needing a cheap, accessible room for an evening, and wanting to use my laptop, I couldn't have asked for more. Parts of the walls in my room required plastering and looked rather unpleasant. There are many steep steps to the building and no signs of a lift inside. This wasn't a problem for me now I'm free of a back injury, but a year ago I would have been unable to carry my bags to reception. I'm sure a phone-call from the street to reception could tackle that issue, but it's worth considering if you struggle to carry yourself and bags upstairs your first impression on arrival might not be too favourable.

Very good located within a short walk into the city centre. Especially suitable for young people. The room has been quite big. Quiet environment. I would categorise it as "cheap and cheerful". No hotel owned parking possibilities. Parking on the road; it might be hard to find a parking space during busy times. Breakfast was ok but had better ones at other accomodations.

The location We arrived at the hotel on the 6th around 10.30am-11.00am and I asked to check in. The lady who was at the reception (black, shoulder length hair with prescription black glasses) told me that the room wouldn't be ready until 12.30pm-13.00pm. So I said that about 3 weeks before I called to ask about the check in time and that a lady called Odri told me that 11.00 am would be fine. The lady who was at the reception told me: "this is not possible, Odri has been here as long as me and would not be possible that she would have said something like this and told me to wait until 12.30-1pm" in few words I have be called liar!!!!! So we went for a walk until 1.30 and then back to the hotel for our check in. The same lady was at the reception. I saw she was helping out somebody else and I just approached the counter in order to get a leaflet regatding a tour we would be doing later on and she shouted at me, in front of everybody else who was there: "there is a queue and you have to respect it, wait to be called forward". This was very embarrassing and the lady was again rude!!!! During our stay in the room we noticed more than once dirty stuff around. The floor was sticky and full of marks, the bad was always full of small and long hair (on my last day I noticed and pictured some bed sheet left on the floor in front of my room door which were clean and ready to be put on the bed) this is not hygienic. The wi fi was not working properly (asked for the password hundreds of times so we ended up using our own 3g). The breakfast should have been a buffet and in my opinion wasn't even close!!! The picture of the room you have on the web site didn't match at all our which was much smaller! All of this for £59 a night, never in my life I felt more robbed, never in my life I felt more humiliated, never in my life I felt to be cheated as much as in that occasion. I would never come back to that place and would never recommend it.

Good location close to the city center. Efficient and friendly staff. Functional rooms and comfortable. Would recommend that one takes rooms on the lower floors if one is traveling with lots of luggage since there is no lift to the upper floors.

Friendly and accommodating staff. Good system for issuing parking permits as parking is strictly controlled around the hotel. Very disturbed night due to excessive noise from nearby room. Tired, outdated furniture and decor both in the room and communal areas. Cigarette ends left to gather outside front door.

Room 51 had been refurbished and was larger than I was expecting with a full sized desk and chair as well as an upholstered chair. Floor was wood laminate and bedding was modern white and clean. I've been visiting the Victorian House for years and the breakfast is no longer a selling point for me as it used to be, but as my main reasons for going are price and location I don't mind.

The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was really good also generally really good value for money, if taken only once!!!!! Cheap parking considering glasgow parking. The ensuite could do with being modernised, and very moldy around shower. Again money was taken twice??? Hotel denied taking had to contact bank and youselves, sorted with £10 rebate which is to be given by booking.com. Still think this should have come from hotel, with an apology from them not booking.com

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was very quiet considering it is in the centre of Glasgow. Breakfast was from 7am which is earlier than most places could offer. Fantastic value. I`ll definately be back and will recommend it to friends and family.

Conveniently placed hotel for Bus station ,Pubs, shops and Theatres Good choice of food for breakfast Staff friendly The hotel is looking a little 'tired' although there seemed to be work in progress to upgrade - the property is large and rooms generally spacious and with effort and thought it could be made into a very appealing place to stay
