Cold room temperature. Brick wall 3 feet outside bedroom window. Dated décor. Wall lights above bed didn't work. Breakfast finished too early (9am)
Location of the hotel is really good! And also the rooms, people in reception give a good service are very friendly, the breakfast is really good, I don't have nothing bad to said about the hotel I'm really happy with their services ! El hotel esta muy bien ubicado, la atención en recepción es muy buena, las habitaciones son limpias y bonitas, el desayuno excelente y muy bien el wifi
Nothing, everything was good! Nada todo ha estado bien!
I had a comfortable stay at Victorian House. It was quiet and it is only a short walk to the shops. The room was clean, wi-fi worked really well.
Position of hotel, near enough to the city to walk but not in the middle of a busy city. Also close to Kelvingrove Park and the west end. Superb breakfast. Nice quiet bedroom, very clean and comfortable.
No toiletries other than a bar of soap. I have long stopped carrying shampoo etc as they are now always provided. I had to go out to get stuff.
Excellent family rooms. Relaxed easygoing atmosphere. Well situated. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed.
No shower gel and no place to hold your toiletries in shower other than on floor.
location was excellent. breakfast also very good. staff very helpful. rooms were spacious.
could be doing with refurb walls in room dirty and carpet worn. to be fair I think they are in the middle of doing this. just not the room we were alocated.
Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was lovely and room was very clean.
The windows in our room rattled and was noisy, could hear all the street noise.
The wide variety on offer at Breakfast, helpful staff and the room was quiet, comfortable and I couldn't ask for more
Lack of parking facilities - no fault of hotel but I had to park some distance away as I was unable to get one of the very few parking places at the front of the building
Breakfast was superb, a wide range of choice, well cooked. Staff were welcoming and friendly.
Smoking tables on the street side! Talking disturbed my sleep, and the following morning used cigarette ends were floating in the rain in the giant ashtrays.
The room was quite so had a good sleep and I could open a window, most important.
Close to city center.
Ideal location. Rooms clean but basic. Had 3 single beds which was great for us. Big TV and tea making facilities also Wifi. Room was big and spacious. Wide choice for breakfast. Hotel staff were so helpful and friendly. Worth the price we paid.
Hotel needs refurbished but of course then the price would rise.
My room was very nice. Breakfast was very good. The breakfast cooking and waiting staff were very friendly and helpful.
The stairs were very dirty at the edges and their was a dirty dessert spoon halfway up them. The stair carpet needed cleaning. There were two scruffy chairs in the room - it would have looked better if these had been replaced with new ones from Ikea. The reception area was more like a hostel than an hotel. I couldn't find the lift. Was there one? It needs one. What about disabled access?
Friendly dining room, good coffee machine
Poor quality breakfast (except coffee) Worn out carpets and water damaged ceiling in the staircase.
Not a bad choice for a couple of nights or so. Reasonably priced, clean and a decent breakfast. Victorian House well-located; just a 15 min walk from Glasgow Central Train station, next door to the Art School. Close to the nightlife of Souchiehall St, but still quiet.
Decor a bit dated and rough around the edges, but acceptable given the price. The shower was a bit ancient and temperamental. Tricky to get a consistent temperature. It was either scalding hot or freezing cold.
Very convenient and handy for shopping .
Toilet didnt flush easy
Unsuitable for guests with mobility problems
Room was clean enough Good choice of breakfast
The decor was very shabby. The carpets on stairs were very dirty and threadbare. Needed a good hoover. Found a dirty cotton bud under phone receiver! Mould in shower. Loose hand rail on stairs. Broken towel rail and toilet roll holder in room. Shower curtain smelt foosty. Reception area in much need of redecoration.
Location and the size of the rooms.
For the money that we paid we thought that we'd get slightly more luxury than a Travel Lodge. The rooms weren't clean. The paint work was scruffy, the shower leaked all over the bath room floor. There was overwhelming stale smell of greasy food.Very uncared for was the over all impression. Had so much potential. The staff weren't helpful except when we had to ask for a loo roll. Couldn't recommend any where to eat. Disappointed to say the least.
Breakfast is delicious, generous portions and a good range of cooked items available. Comfy bed, location very handy for ABC gig we attended.
Lack of provisions in shower area, towels were a bit rough and rugged. Could do with cleaning the walls which had all manner of splashes on them
The location of this hotel was ideal for our needs (going to Kings Theatre then for meal). We found the bed comfortable and the room was a good size. My husband enjoyed the cooked breakfast, while I had the continental breakfast (satisfactory).
Unfortunately the en-suite wasn't very clean: the handbasin was dirty (evidence remained of someone having shaved) and our handtowel had been placed over this; the toilet wasn't clean; the wall beside the toilet had a few dodgy marks/splashes. Also, not related to cleanliness, but an empty toilet roll remained in the holder, and there was no-where to put shower-gel and flannel except on the edge of the shower tray (which looked like it was cracked). The window in the bedroom was dripping with condensation in the morning and wouldn't open as it was broken. Further, while the room looked like it had been vacuumed, the staircase carpet was in need of a good clean/replacement. Didn't use the WiFi as no password information was available in the room. A very tired hotel, in need of some TLC. We'll spend our £75 elsewhere in future.
Nice location , good staff
Wash room was horrible and no hand wash there
The hotel is situated at walkable distance from city centre so thats a big plus for people working with investment banks in city centre . The hotel offers awesome breakfast included in the room cost. The staff is helpful and kind.
I stayed here for five nights and the room was cleaned just once. During cleaning, the staff refused to change the bed sheet and pillow covers. They just cleaned the floor and emptied the trash. The hotel does not have a lift which made it dificult to take the luggase in-out of the room. It was big issue for us because we had a baby pram which was difficult to bring down through stairs eveeyday.
