friendly staff comfortable matress double bed clean wooden flooring in room spacious room very quiet lovely breakfast
bathroom is dated
The decor was a bit tired
The size of the room, pleasantness of the staff and the room was warm. Staff were helpful
cooked breakfast on weekends is only available from 8am. timings should be given in the hotel details.
Big room, lovely breakfast!
i had a room at the front the first night and was woken at 3am by folk outside.....i`m a light sleeper...room changed the 2nd night with no hassle from the staff.....great breakfast from a smiley chef and waitresses
nothing....I have stayed several times and will return
breakfast, location (10min walk to the bus terminal and city center), in a decent neighborhood so felt safe, room is big
i would like a top sheet on the bed too...felt weird that there was just the duvet... internet broke down during my last night, for someone who has to work on the computer constantly, it was horrible. and had a room on first floor, and it got a little noisy at night
I love the building and its location. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the breakfast is whatever you want and as much as you want. Beds are comfortable and linen, whilst frayed and greying (like me) is clean. Price is very reasonable for a city centre location, but...
I've stayed here a number of times in the last ten years, over which time the hotel has become more and more run down. The paintwork in my room was very stained, as was one of the chair cushions. The furniture was usable, but battered. And the cobwebs hanging from the ceiling had been there for a very long time. The place now really does need a lot of tlc - I suggest that white bed linen is a bad idea and the cleaners need a long handled feather duster...
Breakfast okay Was clean
Bed was lumpy Place needs redecorated Shower tray cracked and area small Lots of foreigners
Staff were very helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble and their knowledge of the area is excellent.
Central location.Lovely big room.Warm.Very good breakfast.
Very steep location.Arriving with suitcases a challenge. Then steps up into the hotel.
staff great breakfast brilliant
I liked the location and athmosphere. Staff was very friendly
However, my room was under the breakfastroom and this was a bit noisy in the morning
Location and value for money. Breakfast quite good too.
The room was rather time-worn (ripped wallpaper, dated carpets) and although the sheets and bathroom were clean and tidy, the floors could've been hoovered better. That said, for the price paid for a single room for a night to rest your head, it couldn't be beaten.
Good location to where I was meeting for business. . . in the Glasgow School of Art area. Close to cafes and easy walking distance (20mins) of Queen St Station. Good selection of hot and cold breakfast.
It was clean
Breakfast was ok could of been better becon looked like it had been deep fat fryed but appart from that it was good
-nice bars and places to go in the surroundings
-staff was highly unprofessional (bad clothing, dirty appearance, playing with smartphones all the time, argueing with each other etc.) -badly renovated, not very clean rooms -cold atmosphere in rooms due to brigth lighting. -breakfast was too fat
We had a huge room with a bay window.
I would have liked a top sheet on the bed.
Victoria house was in a central position, easy walking distance to GLasgow attractions.
Older hotel and room had a musty smell
Think the hotel is a bit tired and needs updating
This hotel was pefectly placed for the theatre (reason for our visit), it was great for walking around the City centre. Wifi was accessible at all times and free. Staff friendly and helpful especially in the reception. Food was as you would expect with quite a decent choice. Bedroom and bathroom were in excellent condition having recently been renovated.
Our room was over the road and late at night the noise from revellers was loud. The decor in places was tired but it did seem to be in the process of being done up.
Dirty room and not working internet
The room was very spacious, the bed was large and comfortable, the breakfasts were first class, and the price was very reasonable. Being as close to the city center as it is, and our room on the front I was pleasantly suprised how quite the street was.
the uphill walk after a night out, the bathroom was ok but a bit tired. The room could have had a larger wardrobe area with more shelving
Wifi clearly not working
Cooked breakfast wasn't very nice
nice comfortable clean room, good shower and they didn't skimp on the teabags. well done for that.
The black pudding at breakfast was terrible. Change your supplier to Ramsay of Carluke or MacLeod Stornoway.
