No lift, had to walk 4 stairs to my room with heavy luggage. Rooms were noisy. I found hair in the bathroom which wasnt mine, so no proper cleaning.
Location, staff was very friendly, spacious rooms, broad selection of tv channels, free map of glasgow, good breakfast.
The fact I hadnt booked there for the third part of our trip. We went to Rothesay for 3 days in between Glasgow stays. Our Rothesay stay was great too, however our next Glasgow stay at a different facility/hotel was not a good stay. Victorian House is our top choice in Glasgow for our needs.
Location to town. Facility suited (sister and myself) our needs. Team offered places to visit, restaurants, shops, in-house needs (towels, shampoo, tea, etc. Extremly knowledgeable of City and people. From upper management to b'fast servers - all went above and beyond! Beautiful rooms!
Bathroom should be upgraded as the shower curtain could not help to prevent the water from flowing out, making the bathroom floor wet. Shower area is too small and the cold water tap from the basin was not working properly. We had to climb up two floors to our room, so it would be troublesome for people who have larger and heavier luggage to climb up the stairs.
Location, Comfortable bed with just the right room size for two, Breakfast was the standard Scottish breakfast but buffet style.
Drunk people shouting at 1 am in front of the window...
Very large and confi room. Nice breakfeast. Staff very helpful.
It was quite noisy at night (drunk people close by outside, and you can hear people moving about upstairs). There was no Bible in our room - Gideon can organise to have these put in!
The Scottish lady who welcomed us was very friendly and extremely helpful.
a little too pricey
location was excellent
Why must all floors make noice? Alldoors and walls seems to be made of paper, you hear everything outside your door.
Could not get shower to work properly either too hot or too cold. Had to have a bath instead. Staircase and passageways were not clean.
Breakfast and wifi good
Absolutely nowhere to park your vehicle of any kind. Even if you want to pay to park, which you have to do up until 10pm, you cannot find a space within half a mile at least
Rooms were absolutely ok. Although took at lest 5 mins of running the shower b4 the hot water arrived.
Friendly staff Extraordinary location
The size of mug and no teapot for the breakfast.
The hotel was full but my room was very quiet I didn't hear anything from the room next to me. I had shared bathroom but I never had to wait to use it. The breakfast was excellent.
Friendly staff, lovely breakfast, clean rooms.
Nothing that i can think of.
The cleanliness of the room.
It was not that clean shower could do with being replaced and décor was awful coat of paint needed badly was with my granddaughter would not stay again.
Staff friendly and helpful bed was comfy enough , was ok for the price and a one night getting the head down.
Lovely big room, good breakfast, value for money.
The hotel is in need of a general upgrade, quite shabby both in the rooms and public areas.
The bedding and towels were both very clean. The breakfast was fantastic, plenty of choice and very tasty.
Very slow WiFi. Unfortunately, this is starting to feel like what is to be expected in most hotels. I understand that having enough bandwidth to serve 1080p streams to all the guests simulataneously is not realistic, but at least I would like to be able to browse briskly even when everybody else is doing the same.
Exellent breakfast. Halfway between the center and the university. Close to neither but not too far away (walking is definitely possible).
Great location, very central. We had the family room with 4 adults, which was roomy and tidy. After traveling for 1 week, it was the cheapest room by far and the standard was great. The breakfast was brilliant. We had a car and the cost to park on the street was 6 pounds for 24 hours. No problems finding a park
The room's ceiling and several walls were completely stained from bad water leaks. I paid for an en suite bath and there was no hot water - at all! They offered a key to another room to shower, but it was down 2 flights of stairs, to the other side of the building, and up 2 more flights of stairs. The other option was to use the hall bath - which had dirty rainwater leaking from the attic/roof ceiling onto the floor AND the shower did not work! I ended up having to go down two flights of stairs to a hall bath to take a shower. When I complained to the manager the next day, he showed absolutely NO concern and offered no refund of any sort. The place is old, run-down, dirty, and the wifi is spotty at best. I would avoid staying here!
Great, friendly staff. Always willing to help. Always stay here for it being so close to the city.
The breakfast was perfect for us. The location is great for walking to local shopping and restaurants. The room was spacious.
Had to ask for hand towels...twice but happy when I got them Doors around handles could do with a spring clean Looked like sauce was left on a cupboard n not cleaned in ? Skirting boards needed a spring clean so dust allergy suffered need to take this into consideration No info for fish n porridge which is inc on the menu...being told you only have to ask was disappointing if there's no sign on the notice board or a menu to advertise what is avaiable to be able to ask Walls like paper mâché so don't break wind or sneeze or cough bc room next to you will know what you're up fo!
Friendliness Opportunity to turn radiators on or off or temp to suit each room Very safe Clean but room for improvement Nice decor Great location Near good places to eat drink n buy food from supermarket Reasonable distance from stations but with luggage a tad challenging
It was absolutely filthy, rugs, bed covers and sheets, damp with rotten leafs odor, and way to expensive
Breakfast was decent, good location though music from nearby is audible
Excellent value for money. Helpful and friendly staff. Will use this hotel again
