Score from 59 reviews Wonderful
This 4-star hotel is in central Glasgow, half a mile from Glasgow Central Train Station. It has large rooms, a sauna, steam room and indoor swimming pool with spa pool.
Score from 1067 reviews Very good
In Glasgow city center on one of the main shopping streets, this hotel is just 220 yards from Glasgow Central Train Station. A buffet breakfast is available and all rooms have a private bathroom.
Score from 2878 reviews Good
Our stay was perfect. The two twin room was very nice and spacious. While the bathroom was a typical small European bathroom, it was newly renovated and very nice. Breakfast was good and had a nice variety. The staff was all very nice. The hotel was city-center and within short walking distance to touristy places, food and shopping. Everything was perfect.
Great location on Renfrew Street right up from all the shops on Sauchiehall street and the city centre. Great breakfast and clean rooms. Also good WiFi.
We stayed here twice. Second stay was a room on the third floor and since no lift is available it was a bit inconvenient to carry luggages etc.
I arrived way too early in the morning. The guy in the reception informed me that he couldn't give me the room at that hour which was reasonable. He bade me though to make myself comfortable in the lounge. I had no problem to leave my things by the reception while I was out for business. The room was large (room for two, though I believe it accommodates regularly three), clean, though there were some imperfections in the walls, ceiling and carpet but overall nothing too serious. The bathroom was spacious and large. Overall very quiet, the wi-fi signal was perfect and the breakfast was fantastic. Totally worth staying there just for having breakfast. Good value for money.
Some staff were helpful. Others not so helpful, breakfast was cold, and no tea or coffee on the 1st morning. Never went for breakfast on the 2nd day,
Large light room, v comfy bed, pretty quiet street so lots of sleep, plenty of hot water and flat screen tv. A v generous breakfast both cooked and continental sets you up for a day of sightseeing. Conveniently located for the Glasgow school of Art (tours etc) and on same street as one of stops for the open top tour of Glasgow bus and not far from Art cinema and about 15 mins walk from Buchanen st bus station.
I was fine with the stairs, but less mobile people might need to know it has flights of stairs (in case they are expecting an elevator)
We liked the clean rooms and beds and the comfort of beds also was nice and quiet late night so got off to sleep quickly.
We didn't like all the stairs outside and in as three of us had walking problems, also the breakfast was cold on first morning and I had to ask for it to be heated up on second.
excellent location, comfortable bed
bad smell in bathroom, internet and dryer weren't working properly, there are no lifts
Location. Friendly helpful staff. Brilliant breakfast and excellent value for money.
Walls a bit thin so woken up early morning by room next door! Lots of stairs and no lift!!
The hotel seems old from the outside but the room was renovated and it resulted to be very nice and comfortable. Excellent position (very close o the School of Art), and good breakfast.
No free parking but you can buy parking vouchers to leave the car on the streets nearby.
staff very helpful. they changed my reservation to a ground floor room because I could not lift my luggage
breakfast a bit basic, but for the price, it's not surprising
did not state there was no lift or i would have asked for room on first floor. i walk with a stick and was put on 3rd floor to me staff was not to helpful on this matter when i asked if there was a room on a lower floor was just told it was full/
too expensive, old decor, uncomfortable beds, small bathroom, bad wi fi
handy location, very good breakfast, budget price.
on a hillside, lots of stairs, no porters, no lift, dusty furniture in bedrooms and spattered walls needing a wash
Great location, room clean and bright coffee and breakfast good, great value.
Excellent Location in the city centre There was ample on-street parking near the hotel The area was quiet despite being close to Sauchiehall Street Good variety of food at Breakfast Overall the Hotel was clean. Excellent WiFi in the bedroom
Our room was fairly small, but fair at the price. The "hotel" does not have a bar which meant having to walk out in the evening to one of the many stores that are within a short walking distance from the hotel
On arrival informed reception of celiac(gluten free food) allergy ,although I did not inform them at time of booking, they withing 15mins of my arrival sent out for gluten free bread, fantastic response , many thanks
Room was spacious and comfortable. Nice quiet location at the back of the house. Close to a lively part of town. 24 hour access to the property seems reliable.
The wi-fi's wireless router is on the ground floor by the entrance, connectivity was completely non existent in my basement room and I saw someone else sitting under the router with an iPhone clearly affected by the same issue. Not good enough - if you advertise free wi-fi supply it. The hotel is right next to the financial district and guests will need this facility and will be greatly inconvenienced by its lack.
Room and decor fab.great value for money
Corridor carpets and doors tatty need a little love and attention.felt in the middle of upgrade. Went for breakfast at 7 am and bacon and sausages were cold think not enough time on heated plate to keep hot. Taps in room missing bits
Comfortable room, good breakfast. As I arrived early before check-in I was given the opportunity to change and have a shower. The hotel is not far from the city centre as well as bus and railway station
When you are out, keep your personal electric equipment in your suitcase, lest the staff could take it for the hotel property and do with it whatever they please (I found my iron missing, then it was returned to me broken. They repaired it only on the final day of my stay, keeping me nervous throughout my stay. It's a pity, because all the rest was very good)
It was clean and tidy, had a good nights sleep.
The room could have done with a lick of paint, Would have preferred breakfast on a little longer as finished at 08.45. through the week days.
The breakfast was delicious. The rooms were so quiet, we didn't even realise that there were other guests until breakfast. They allowed us to leave bags after we checked out and pick them up later. Someone was at reception at all times. We were really struggling to find a hotel for university open days (as we were all under 18) but they allowed us to stay without an adult which was a lifesaver.
Room needed painting and one window was broken (wouldn't properly open/close) Ensuite bathroom was a bit small. Booked three single beds and got a room with one single and a double. Window, window sill and wardrobe top had not been cleaned in a long time as it had black dust on it. Shower cut out or started pulsating when using hot water ( was fine for first person but had ran out of hot water by second person)
Great value for money and a very pleasant atmosphere
Early breakfast time on weekday
to many stairs to clime to carry case
The staff were helpfull and efficient The room was comfortable and more than adequate. I liked the wooden floors and the modern T.V. The bed was comfortable. The highest score goes to the high quality and good choice provided for breakfast. Also good coffee and fruit juice.
Only two negatives, not important for a one-night stay, but might be for a longer stay. 1. There is no bar and I like a drink before retiring. 2. The fixed-head shower presents problems for elderly or infirm clients. But, for the price, the hotel deserves a higher average score. One last point, most of the clients during my stay, were not British. I think the signs should be multi-lingual.
