I did not like it. There was nothing that I would recommend about the place. It was more akin to a public leisure centre attached to a motorway services. There was little there for anyone who wanted to relax. Also the food (breakfast) was poor and the evening meals expensive for what was poor quality. It was better to eat out. The rooms (though clean) were small and cramped.

Beauticians were lovely- starbucks on site was brilliant. We could bring the dogs with us. Very relaxed and easy going atmosphere Because we had 2 dogs with us, our room was so far away from the lobby... It was frustrating as it took so long to get to the bar/ restaurant each time especially if you forgot something. The hall floors creaked v loudly

The size of the facilities in the leisure club. Reception staff rude and we felt they discriminated against us because we were a young couple. Room dirty. Booked a superior room but given a small double and had to complain to be moved. The second room was bigger but still had no toiletries, no fan or air conditioning and the view was of the roof. The breakfast was poor, lack of choice and food stuck to the serving dishes as they didn't replenish. The cleaner came in on the day we were leaving at 08.30am but we didn't need to check out until 11.00am. We will never stay at a Village hotel again.

i didnt likt the fact there was no quilt for my children and had to ask 3 times for one and even rang reception but didnt get through then my children had to wait til midnight to go to bed. when they changed shifts the guy was very helpful and did it with in 10 mins. but the rooms were clean and cosy and comfortable and i slept well, the pool and gym were excellent as was the food, we enjoyed our stay and everyone was friendly, we had stayed for a family weddindg but no one knew they had reserved tables for us at the breakfast so we all sat alone so we could have been made more aware.the only other issue wasthe early check out as we didnt get to sleep till 2 so we was up at 8am to get ready for breakfast and checkout. but other than that we enjoyed our time in cardiff and would return to the hotel. sorry wrote everything in above box.

I liked the gym but not the lack of instructors. The room was nice but the bath panel was falling off and the soap dispenser (which to be fair I don't like anyway), wasn't working properly. Good comfortable bed. Starbucks in teh lobby but the bar was shut when we got back at 11 and the restaurant bar was a bit dead even for someone just looking for a night cap. Clearly used for meetings, conferences and the gym, this is a decent business class hotel but it lacks charm and warmth.

Have stayed here many times now. If you can get a room for a reasonable price it is a good place to stay.

good facilities, wi fi, free parking, fitness area and pub I was put in room 106 which was next to the staff room, i had to put up with non stop banging of doors, machinery noises, laughter and talking so could not get any sleep in the early evening after a long day and i was woken very early in the morning with more of the same. I left the hotel feeling more tired than when i arrived. In addition the fire alarm went off that evening which led to the hotel being evacuated, this did not help matters. In the bar area I ordered a pint and pie with mash, the pint was fine (although i had to drink it in the cold during the fire evacuation !!) but the pie was awful and was 95% pastry with a tiny morsel of meat so poor and bad value. I stayed here as i have stayed at Village hotels before and they have been good but this trip was a nightmare and i will think twice before staying here again.

Bed was very comfortable and Leisure facilities were very good. Food was very good too. Very comfortable Hotel. wasn't 100% clean, I noticed small areas where cleanliness that could have been improved. splashes on the wall in the restaurant and my wine glass was slightly dirty. Soap machines in the pool showers were slightly mouldy at the bottom.

A very busy Hotel. We stayed midweek and there were a lot of business people using the facilities. The hotel is on the outskirts of the City, but we found the train a few minutes walk from the hotel which provided a very reliable service to the city centre. Had no problems with noise at night and enjoyed our stay immensley. Great hotel and a great City.

Convenient location, close to motorway and halfway between the two places we needed to visit. Food was good value and an interesting selection Bar discount if resident Sport on large screen TVs Restaurant closed on Sundays, not made clear on website or at check-in Booking.com allows you to state preference as to whether twin or double beds required, but this info not passed on to hotel. Probably not hotel's fault Very busy on Saturday nights Convenient location meant that on a weekday, the lobby was packed with business people spreading out, holding meetings. Hotel should really make an effort to clear them away so that residents have somewhere to sit. These were freeloaders who could probably have rented a meeting room.

We booked the hotel rather than any of the numerous city based hotels because of the leisure facilities. However, when we arrived, we were informed that the children were not allowed in the swimming pool that evening. I'm sure this is probably in the small print somewhere but I think it should be made clearer when actually making a booking. In fact, there was nothing at all that we could do as a family in the evening, although we asked about the gym or table tennis. We ended up having to go back into the city centre to find entertainment for our 11 and 13 year old. We nearly checked out at that point. It makes wonder why you have family rooms if families aren't really welcome. In fact, it was made clear to us that the leisure club members were more important.

The location is excellent, as are the services offered. Being woken up at 23.30 by hotel staff moving furniture around their function room. I did telephone the reception but got little satisfaction, so, had to get dressed, go down to reception (no duty manager around) and complain to the security guys. Eventually, the noise stopped. Not much in the way of an apology from the hotel or any offer of compensation....very poorcustomer relations.
