Rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable. Nice to have both restaurant and a pub onsite. There is a direct train line into Cardiff within a 10 minute walk which was useful. Rooms do not have aircon and to have the windows open if your outlook is the front of hotel is quite noisey as it overlooks a very busy roundabout and the M4. A fan was provided but again noisy so on a hot night you might not get the best sleep!

We booked the hotel rather than any of the numerous city based hotels because of the leisure facilities. However, when we arrived, we were informed that the children were not allowed in the swimming pool that evening. I'm sure this is probably in the small print somewhere but I think it should be made clearer when actually making a booking. In fact, there was nothing at all that we could do as a family in the evening, although we asked about the gym or table tennis. We ended up having to go back into the city centre to find entertainment for our 11 and 13 year old. We nearly checked out at that point. It makes wonder why you have family rooms if families aren't really welcome. In fact, it was made clear to us that the leisure club members were more important.

Good location for our purposes. Reception staff friendly & efficient. We have stayed twice at weekends in February and breakfast appears to be their Achilles heel.

The location is excellent, as are the services offered. Being woken up at 23.30 by hotel staff moving furniture around their function room. I did telephone the reception but got little satisfaction, so, had to get dressed, go down to reception (no duty manager around) and complain to the security guys. Eventually, the noise stopped. Not much in the way of an apology from the hotel or any offer of compensation....very poorcustomer relations.

Easy to access straight off the m4. Couple of functions on during the night of our stay so given an upgrade to a family room - much more space and very comfortable. Efficient staff, good breakfast and pub meals good. Room lighting a bit dim for me and my pet hate of black mould on the shower screen in the bathroom, but not too much of an issue.

The swimming pool is great. Great comfort and range of facilities. The colour scheme and stripy carpets. The food could be better for the price.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. Lift very slow! Mind you that turned out to be a good thing as I just used the stairs more - which is healthier anyway!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. We had a meal in the restaurant. Food was out of this world. Matt behind the bar was superb, he certainly knew his wines which was good to see. Room was spotless. On the whole the staff were efficiant and totally professional. I will stay there again when in Wales on business No free WiFi in room

Friendly staff and very good location for us - easy to find Standard of food in the bar was not as good as other village hotels which we have stayed in before. Pool did not have enough swimming aids for my youngest child, so this was a problem.

Very convenient location for family Breakfast ok Just next to Asda Fairly uniform rooms, consistent, secure, car park well lit. The bar is noisy for noise sake. I think I spent £3 too much on drinks because of noise. We didn't use the dining room this time. I have no idea what was said at check in as someone was playing bagpipes 8ft behind me. Ok it was new year's eve (7.30pm) but no-one else seemed to be enjoying it. Grab handle in the bath not helpful to wife: in wrong place - presumably put there when using a curtain. I would think twice about using them again over no refunds policy- a death in the family nearly disrupted our plans.

I thought the pool and leisure facilities were excellent and it was the deciding factor when booking the room. The breakfasts and staff were also excellent. The double room was a bit dark in decor and had a strange smell. You could also hear the people in the rooms next door. The bathroom was not very clean on arrival, especially the toilet.
