The Holiday Inn Cardiff North M4 Jct 32 is nestled beneath the scenic Castell Coch (Red Castle) in the village of Tongwynlais, off Junction 32 of the M4 and 20 minutes’ drive from Cardiff city centre....
Score from 135 reviews Very good
This waterside hotel is just a 10 minute drive from lively central Cardiff. In a peaceful setting, it has an award-winning restaurant, a modern health club and spacious rooms.

The Future Inn Cardiff Bay is a modern hotel just a quarter mile from the Wales Millennium Centre.
Score from 1978 reviews Very good
Clean & tidy accommodation very good breakfast, plenty of free parking .
Noisy fellow guests throughout the night, paper thin dividing bedroom walls.
Nice restaurant. Good wifi
No film channels, Film 4 was tuned to something else
Wifi was good, parking close to hotel and a tesco express not far away. Free tea/coffee making facilities and sky sports. Gideon Bible!
The walls were thin and you could hear people 'being intimate' next door/people shouting in the hallways. There was a big gap under the front door so a lot of light came through. Lastly I booked a double room and was told it wasn't available and was given a room with two single beds.
I loved the size of the gym and the food in restaurant. Top quality food.
I think overall the price was a little high. Also I think there should be glasses in the room, there was only mugs and a glass for water would have improved my stay. In the morning, we had to wait a while for more food to be put out on the counter. Slight annoyance.
Leisure facilities, gym, pool etc. Breakfast - lots of choice. Two restaurants, one of which was more of a pub/bar - tasty burgers!
The food was very good fresh and hot.
After asking not to be near the wedding reception totally ignored and place there. Also the guests at the wedding were not only in the next room to us having a party and swearing the f word consistently .
Good facilities, friendly helpful staff and comfortable bed. Was able to Check in early for an extra charge. Nice atmosphere in the pub watching the rugby.
Little niggles that's all - few bits not cleaned in room, breakfast not as good as it used to be.no hot chocolate on welcome tray. Misspelled welcome on TV "welcome too the village hotel"
Great value for money with meals, and use of leisure facilities good
Bar area full of non residents using area and not enough room for residents to use, really loud noise in area too. Not told about red card for drink discounts until last night too making drinks expensive too over £5.00 per pint.
Comfortable Good breakfast
Room a bit dusty Very strong perfume in room Restaurant closed (Sunday evening) and bar noisy so obliged to opt for room service
Room was quite small and dark; with a very small window. That's the only criticism.
Check in and out quick. Given a complimentary bottle of wine.
Very expensive stayed in a village urban resort in Leeds last summer for a quarter of the price.
We were taking a group of customers to the rugby and tried to check in at 2pm to no avail, no big problem as it clearly states 3pm however on returing to the hotel after the match the reception was staffless and it took us best part of 30minutes to find a staff member willing to help us out, given at that stage we didnt have keys for the room or our luggage left in a locked room from 2pm it was really poor. Given room rate was £500 for the night, the king room was also pretty dated and very noisy with what must have been some kind of main heating generator right outisde the room. Over all very disapointing
Location good and plenty of parking space.
TV very poor and you could hardly see the picture. Shower shocking! Very little power and just a trickle.
Free access to pool and facilities
We stayed at this hotel as we were attending a charity event there, no rooms were available at a discounted event rate. The event was let down by the poor quality of food that was served, which was very inferior to previous years, (several people suggested that the event be moved to an alternative location next year)
Swimming Pool, very large for length swimming
Very noisy, drunk people woke us up shouting at 4am. Walls are thin too.
staff were very friendly from Reception to Bar to Restaurant. All smiles and chatty. Food in the Grill Restaurant was good.
stayed in room 257 - shower was just a dribble …not a good start to true morning. Grill restaurant was draughty
Great food, hotel and staff. Location is great as its in driving distance of cinema, leisure complex and the DR WHO experience
Shame about the TV. The remote did not work properly as it was a universal remote. The channels were grainy and fuzzy, and you could not view them all the time . If the channels were all digital and coming through with a good picture quality then it would have been better. Also it would be better if you had the standard freeview channels coming through... after all .... it is free!
Excellent value for money. Convenient Starbucks at the hotel. Excellent leisure facilities. Great location (just off M4) for exploring Brecon Beacons. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast not fantastic but for the price you can't complain.
Food, location of hotel, helpful staff.
King bed was two twin beds pushed together and was not comfortable. Pool and sauna were very busy on Saturday morning with children's swimming lessons.
very poor bed- 2 singles joined together, but leaving a big gap between the 2... had to wait 40 minutes in a queue for breakfast, only to have a luke warm buffet breakfast, minus bacon . and an almost empty tray of near enough cold beans. surrounded by tables which hadn't been cleaned.....very poor overall
Staff and service were excellent
Toilet Very Very poor flush, needed to flush several times
The desk staff, restaurant staff and bar staff were extremely polite, efficient and friendly. The food was good and the bar drinks reasonably priced
The cleaners were rude, barging through doors as if we were in their way. Standing outside the rooms gossiping and standing in the middle of a busy reception with a trolley having a natter.. The desk, chair and decoration was in need of replacement in the room. The tables for two seats in the restaurant were a punishment! The tie backs on the curtains made from cheap metal chain were a strange afterthought to connect the steel type table tops to the decor...
