excellent staff and very helpfull
Room need to be upgraded
Friendliness of owners Cleanliness of rooms Spaciousness Plentiful breakfast Sea views Location - 5mins walk to the beach or the town
Hotel's fixtures and fittings are very tired - carpets, decoration, bathrooms, furniture. The hotel needs an awful lot of investment to bring it up to date. Kerb appeal was poor from both the carpark (back) (overflowing bins - probably not the hotel's fault but not a good initial impression) or beach side (front) (garden gate also needs tlc)
Location was near the beach and was good for accessing other parts of IOW.
Hotel is in dire need of updating and complete renovation. Furniture and facilities very old, some of the bedding had stains and were shabby. Not what one would have expected at all in this day and age, and in the UK...
The hosts of the hotel are very kind and helpful, give us a lot of guidance for the journey!
The room is not so good for sound-proofing , even the talking of the next door can be heard.
The view was awesome and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast and rooms were good value. We had dinner one night and enjoyed an excellent lamb curry.
The rooms are a bit run down but clean.
Stunning location friendly owner and some history! He has some clear plans to return the place to it's former Victorian Splender
Good British breakfast, peoples nice. Room size OK.
No internet provide, TV poor quality.
Hotel policy should state correctly what they cannot do. Very bad experience
The location of this hotel is great with roons with an amazing view.
Poor customer service no help with luggage or being shown to rooms. Biggest rip off merchants going after I had booked rooms and paid for them prior to our visit I was charged extra money when I booked in will not use again
The staff were really welcoming and helpful. They went out of their way to look after us. They were new owners who want to update/renovate the hotel which will probably make it excellent but it was still very nice.
Very friendly staff and owner, always happy to help ie: find local information, used soya milk (which I had bought with me) for my porridge! Great location: close to beach, quiet area (June), Wonderful sea view from bedroom window and the garden. Lovely clean sheets, crisp and white!
Décor needs TLC, that did not affect my stay though, just for information.
The owners and rest of the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We ended up returning at gone 3am due to me needing medical attention and even though we woke them they were still excellent hosts. We will definitely return.
location, front garden, friendliness
room a bit too small, door to bathroom blocking the entrance to the bedroom
The staff in this hotel are very hospitable, and the sea view from this hotel is very nice.
nothing I want to go home when I saw the room Food was ok the staff nice but lacked experience.
3 flights of stairs no lift. Some of hotel was outdated and of poor quality. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Not good value for money.
Great location, great views, very friendly staff, spacious rooms, good food and reasonably priced drinks at the bar.
Toilet smelled of smoke & a dog end in the loo, loo window wouldn't open to get rid off the smell. Not fault of hotel, just selfish guests!
Very friendly staff Good location Nice sunroom
Shower and room was a bit outdated Food was not very tasty
Terrible experience -it started with check in where they not allowed my friend who also booked room along with me.the hotel staff is so rude that they have not even allowed them inside the hotel.they informed they couple with kids less then 5 years are not allowed in hotel.rhey told it was mentioned in terms and condition at booking.com but their was no such term mentioned clearly .at night heaters where not working ,hot water was not working.they given external oil heaters which too not served much purpose.in morning we had lot of problem to use washrooms as hot water was not working.staff is not at all bother to attend to the customer and very rude.i do not recommend this hotel as it I & my friend stay was most worst experience in our life..do not go to this hotel if u want to have good holiday..in morning breakfast was terrible
Staff was good(waiter English guy and reception lady)were very nice, friendly!
No hot water, very old bathroom and toilets!facilities need renovation and improvement including floors, bath, toilets.
Poorly managed hotel. We were 5 families with 5 little kids and mentioned it while booking however the manger was unaware and failed to provide us more than one cot. He even misbehaved when asked to warm up the milk for a little baby. Breakfast was poorly served with poor planning mismanaged resources ( although waiters were trying to do their job professionally but one waiter wasn't enough for 20 people while the breakfast wasn't even ready) The manager was aggressive when we complained about the service. Our rooms were not cleaned during our two days stay no one cleaned the bins nor the towels were replaced. Over all great views with poor service.
view & price friendly chatty owner
blankets & sheets - no duvets damp on bathroom wall shower taps difficult to control & adjust no self-service buffet breakfast - slowish service broken radiator tired old-fashioned furnishings
The view from our room was breathtaking. Very friendly and accommodating hotel staffs, made us feel at home. Would definitely visit Isle of Wight again and will stay in this hotel without thinking twice.
The decor of the hotel is a bit dated, however that also add extra character to the hotel.
Food a little plain and sparse
Great location overlooking sea
