Nothing to dislike
on arrival reception staff were very helpful. offered to take luggage to our room.asked if we wanted a table for a meal at night and at what time.
we did not like the television losing it,s signal every 5 minutes
Location stunning, food delicious. Room cosy and warm. Staff very friendly even though it was very busy when we arrived. Have booked a return visit.
Friendly, cheerful & very helpful. In the restaurant, I was offered a cushion for my leg (which is in a cast), & my husband wash given a taster of each of the real ales, so that he could decide which to have. Excellent choice of food on the menu, tasty food & brilliant buckets of chips. Lovely views of the loch. Very comfortable bed Tunnocks bars with the tea & coffee . . .
Taste of bacon. Horrible! Had fishy smell and taste. Think the pigs had fish meal feed. Left it. Dark haired thin waitress at breakfast unfriendly. Was it because we were English? Hopefully not.
A friendly, warm pub with great views, tasty food, and very good accommodation. We had a lovely view from our bedroom, the bathroom was spotless and I was happy the whole time I was there!!
We liked the position of the hotel ,overlooking lock long we enjoyed the breakfast it's very good for the price ,the bed was comfortable the room was clean ,the staff were very a very happy team and very friendly ,.nice area down stairs for dining
The room was cramped no bedside table not enough power points the windows in our room were part frosted so no veiw the bathroom had a large curtain at the side of the toilet to cover the window ,not very hygienic ,.and not very private needed a blind ,. Also the food in the resteraunt in the evening can be expensive and tastes very bland , another thing the hot water needs regulating its burning temp ,.
Pub, food, most of staff. bedroom views, fair pricing.
Bed mattress was useless and needs replacing immediately .. advised staff of this (room 2)
Charming professional staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Great food Superb ambience
The whole image of the inn
There should be some place for holding cosmetics bottles at the bathroom.
Position superb, great feel and very friendly! Delightful selection of beers and a nice specials board for dinner. All in all excellent value for money
We only had time for one night :0(
Food was excellent. Lovely quaint pub. Enjoyed our visit.
Not a complaint only an observation.... Room was very hot even after turning heaters down.
the location, the staff, the hotel and the food were very good
the weather, but thats your luck in October!
We loved everything about The Village Inn. Amazing views, welcoming, helpful staff, rooms finished to a very high standard. And, even better, a real rustic (beams, stonework walls, huge, open fires etc) Scottish Highlands atmosphere. Really cannot criticise anything - underpriced for what it is really! Can not wait to go back.
Over all great stay:) the morning breakfast was delicious, the service was great and we had a brilliant sleep!! Will define to be back here:)
Well-located (for our needs). Friendly, Helpful and "Willing" Staff who went out of their way to ensure the comfort of our party. Fabulous 'Cullen Skink' (I.e., Smoked Haddock Soup).
Nothing of any consequence.
Friendliness of Staff, great location & great food. Also Husband enjoyed the choice of Real Ales
Traveling with Mother in-law and Sister in-law and they were in a twin room which was quite small. The beds were low and bed frame stuck out so mother in-law kept hitting her legs off the frame as she was trying to go between the beds and wardrobe. Other than that everything was great.
Everything about our stay was excellent, the location, the welcome, the staff, our room, the food, the staff, the ales, oh and did I mention the staff. One of the friendliest places we have stayed in, and we have stayed quite a few. We stayed in room 3, which was perfect and the view over the Loch was stunning. We will be back!!
rustical hotel and pub
Staff were lovely and friendly. Breakfast great. One of the few places that has provided a veggie fry up, which was appreciated! Great location and good views from bedroom and public areas. This is clearly a well organised inn with relaxed staff who seemed happy to help.
My friend would have liked an extra blanket in the room as she was too tired to go and ask for one by the time we got in. Could have provided guests with some more information (on paper) on where to access local walks, although one member of staff did provide verbal information, which we promptly forgot. More options for a vegetarian dinner would have improved our stay. There should be a sign up reminding guests to book for dinner at weekends as the dining room was fully booked by the time we got back from our walk and we had to dine elsewhere on our second night (and the food we got elsewhere wasn't good).
Excellent room overlooking Loch Long. The only problem was that the bed-head protruded and was uncomfortable leaning against when sitting up in bed. Comfy bed though & lovely roomy bath en-suite.
No fresh fruit for breakfast or even prunes or grapefruit. Cooked breakfast was very good and hot which made up for the lack of above somewhat.
Location was fabulous Food excellent Value for Money
Ran out of stuff on Specials menu and we couldn't eat what we were really looking forward to
We stayed at the Village Inn for one night on 19 Oct. Our room was beautiful with a breathtaking view over Loch Long. We dined in the restaurant and the food was superb. The staff were very friendly and the place had a lovely atmosphere. We will definately make a return visit.
We loved location, views (although view from our room wasn't too good), friendliness of staff, cosy bar, amazing restaurant, just about everything was perfect.
Had to wait 40 mins for our Mel, but that is only complaint.
