very welcoming staff, excellent facilities, leisure centre etc. Good location for coming off motorway, ease of parking (free - also a bonus!!) only small complaint no waste bin in bedroom - (very small complaint),, everything else excellent. Would stay there again and definitely recommend to friends.

The leisure facilities The fact the windows only just opened and was directly above a smoking area which was extremly noisy into the early hours. The staff were unsympathetic and offered no apology for the lack of sleep

Has been done up since we were last there not that it needed it last time but has been taken over by De Vere's group so has had a revamp. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would reccommend to any one especially for aweekend break as free evening meal on first night if you book for two nights for two people. Children go free. Food too expensive for a family so ate out locally instaed

W had a very nice stay, we used the leisure facilities which were good. The resturant was nice too, my partner didn't enjoy his that much as it was covered in sun dried tomotoes. I think the pool shouldn't of been sectioned off because there wasn't much space to bob about if you like. Also the floor boards must be very thin, becasue upstair was very loud. Sounded like Elephants on pogo sticks

Price and leisure facilities Breakfast was poor. Bacon cheap, eggs dried up and potatoes Uneatable. Most non child friendly pool I have ever come accross. A huge dissapointment. Restricted hours and children made continuously non welcome with elderly folk doing lengths. I have never known a pool with so many rules. No we shall not return

Pool, available parking. Too commercialised, room was not thoughly clean on arrival. Old style key system, noisy room and environment due to loud closing doors and nightclub downstairs. Queue for breakfast. Poor quality and overcooked breakfast. No personal service.

The rooms were large and comfortable but there is a lack of drawer space for personal items, a chest of drawers in the room would be nice other than the little 2 drawer thing in the wardrobe area.

The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and it was lovely that they were all local people which is rare in hotels this day, we felt very welcome. The bar was extremely reasonably priced for food and drinks and when travelling with a family this makes a huge difference. The car park was plenty big enough we always found a spot easily. The food was very good for breakfast and in the bar. The hotel wasnt over run with children but there were alot of young people which made us very comfortable to be there with our family. The pool area was superd and much more that is usually found in a hotel the children spent a good couple of hours playing and we could sit on the lougers and watch but there were also good facilities for adults such as the steam room and jacuzzi. We want to come back to Newcastle and would stay here again.

I loved the fact that hotel guests could book on to the exercise classes and that there was a wide range of classes at all times of the day, Room service - requested some teabags and milk on my kettle tray, did not receive them.
