I made the bookingfor my cousin. He really found the hotel was way above the average for a 3 star hotel. He was impressed with the facilities. Teh reception staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about availabiolity fo services outside of the hotel as well as internally. Breakfast apparently is very good.

On entering the hotel, at least 10 people smoking at the door. Very poor smoking arrangements. Feral Children running around hotel to all hours. Walls as thin as paper. Bedroom doors that slam so hard they shake the hole hotel. Couples having their wedding photo's on the steps with fag butts everywhere. I've stayed in some rubbish and this is right up there. For a £100 pound a night you might expect to have some instant coffee with the kettle.

Recently refurbished, all the usual excellent facilities of a village hotel, There should be some discount on buying a bottle of wine as opposed to paying by the glass,

Location good with easy access to points of interest Nosiest hotel I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in many hotels. My room ( 315 ) had a large group of lads staying in a number of rooms took great pleasure in making as much noise as they possibly could in the early hours of Saturday and Sunday mornings with no consideration for any other guests staying on the 3rd floor. Sunday check out couldnt come quick enough for both myself and my wife, needless to say De Vere Village is a hotel I will never stay in again.

We both enjoyed the comfortable room that we had,we enjoyed the restaurent and thought it was good value for money We thought that the pool was cold and the spa tubs cold as well,we also thought that though the breakfast was plentiful the hot food got cold v ery quickly

The rooms were lovely and clean! Also the bed was amazing, great nights sleep! The bar food wasn't up to much, I had penne bolognese and was very dry and bland! There wasnt much to choose from as a quick meal rather then a big sit down restaurant meal! The staff at reception were quite rude and arrogant! Especially the night porter, he had a huge problem! Would stay here again but try not to talk to staff.

A comfortable, clean room with everything needed for a short break. The staff were very kind and helpful, nice to see people smiling at work. Delicious breakfast- could not fault the hotel in any way Excellent. Be aware it is out of Newcastle it cost approx £14 each way into Newcastle not bad if 4 sharing but makes the hotel not as cheap.

I thought the fact that the hotel had good leisure facilities and also had the starbucks coffee shop and italian restuartant The only thing I would say was I was very disappointed that the swimming pool closed at 5pm in the evenings to children far too early for families with kids and older children as you are out during the day and older kids and youger ones like to go swimming also the starbucks could have been open later an would have made a wee fortune as you couldnt get coffee or tea anywhere else in the hotel

The room was big and the bed comfortable There was no bin in the room. Out of three days our newspapers were not delivered on two days we informed reception and yet we were expected to pay for them. The breakfast 'restaurant' was more like a down market holiday camp. No weetabix, poorly cooked breakfasts, hot water urn leaked boiling water all over foot, fresh fruit was not fresh. The included dinner on the first night was from a 'special' menu and additions had to be paid for. We have stayed at de vere village hotels on many (over 10) occassions and this hotel twice before and it has gone down market significantly in terms of its offer and the clients. We will not be stopping again. The receptionists were very pleasant but completely clueless.

It is a very welcoming hotel, staff are excellent especially in the Buca restaurant. I asked by email if I could bring my dog, but did not receive a reply so had to ask a friend to "dog sit" for me, which was a shame.

The location provides access to all areas - we visited the Barbour Factory & collected an item from Middlesborough - using excellent roads without the major traffic congestion associated with towns the size of Newcastle. The Reception staff were pleasant & helpfull. The Food was excellent and served in interesting surroundings. The way that able bodied people parked their cars in the area designated "disabled parking" and got out carrying their bags for the gym was irritating. There was no space left for leasure in the swimming pool - all of it was laned off for serious swimming. For this reason & the fact that I found no play area(s) for small children I would not stay there with my grandchildren.

The rooms were ok and quiet. The pool was very good. Quite enjoyed that! Also very good for the kids. Staff were generally very friendly - maybe with the odd exception to the rule... Breakfast was good quality, but could perhaps do with a little "continental expansion", I.E. some cheese and cut cold meat? Also, the cereal variety was quite limited - but generally breakfast was ok and staff very very friendly! Excellent!

We travel frequently and have stayed at other Village hotels aroung the country. Beds were terribly uncomfortable, children did not sleep in the pull out bed - we had an important event the following day and no one was able to sleep. The restaurant food was very expensive and was no better than pub food. Very disappointing - we will not stay again.
