We have stayed at Cardiff and Bournemouth, in this case to take advantage of a three-night offer. It compares very well with other Bournemouth opportunities and the leisure facilities are excellent. We enjoyed a meal in the hotel on Thursday evening. The staff that we met were helpful and friendly, especially the lady that cleaned our room. Checking-in was efficient and we had been allocated the adjoining rooms that we had requested.

The gym, swimming pool and spa facilities were excellent. Breakfast buffet was very good. Rooms were spacious and bed very comfortable. The pub meals were very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The minimum temperature of the room was 16 degrees which we found too hot. We had to open the windows in December to let some heat out which seems a terrible waste of money. I suggest the mimimum temperature be set at approximately 6 degrees and then guests can increase it to their desired temperature.

Helpfullness of staff. Unfussiness and informality of a large hotel with little or no regimentation.

The bargain price for a little bit of luxury was much appreciated. It was also a wonderful location to visit so many interesting places. We did not have to go far to socialise, walk with nature, shop or eat at reasonable venues. The leisure facilities were wonderful too which meant that even on the rainiest day, leisure time was at hand. The breakfast was really good too; well cooked and an attentive crew of staff. In addition and not least, there is really good entertainment to be had - you have excelled yourselves! Only a couple of tiny complaints; dinner was a little bit expensive for us and on the evening of 1/1/12, we asked for some more tea bags at the reception desk about 9pm on the night. The receptionist, a middle aged man was miserable and not at all accommodating. I felt that he could do with a few lessons in smiling and not making me feel that I was a scrounger.

When booking I did not understand money for my stay was taken out immediately from my bank account. This was a shock to me. The hotel was friendly clean and welcoming.Eating there for breakfast was adequate and there was a choice of yours of other eating areas during my stay. The space in the room was good and the beds were very comfortable. Being able to open windows was a pleasant sureprise.Parking not a problem during my stay. I have only one issue with whether I stay there again and that is to be closer to town instead of having to pay parking tickets every time I went into Bouremouth.Having said that hotel is offering good deals. Internet was a plus in our room to use.

Comfy bed. Clean. Staff polite and helpful. Pub The Victory very expensive! Good deals on food. Cheap toilet roll! No little toiletries in bathroom - no shower hat! It would be nice to have whiter and fluffier towels! Starbucks very expensive.

Lighting in bedroom was too dim to read properly, but hotel staff tried to collect this by providing a reading light. No daily newspaper provided, although we were under the impression this was included in the package. Apart from this, a pleasant & relaxing stay, even though it rained each day! Feedback has been given directly to the hotel.

Friendly and helpful staff. Good and quiet location. Near shopping mall and not too far from Bournemouth town centre. No toiletries in bathroom. Provision of a dispenser for soap, shower/shampoo makes hotel look cheap much like Travel Lodge. Don't like dogs in hotel.

Proximity to location of my family's home. Very good deal for three nights with breakfast at the Christmas break. Like the pool and spa facilities. Very good breakfast. Coming from Ireland, we usually have toiletries provided in similar hotels. I found the lack of soap a nuisance - I had brought my own shampoo.

We have stopped at this outpost of the De Vere Village chain before, so knew what to expect and are pleased to say , just as good as before. We like the Village style and provided their hotels remain affordable, we will continue to use them . Would certainly recommend them to friends and family.

A warm friendly welcome which was also informative. The use of the leisure facilities was a great bonus after a long journey, and not having to worry about packintg a towel for the leisure. The room was well lit and plenty of room and cupboard space. Big comfy bed very pleased overall. I wouldn't say so much that it is a dislike, but we had an experience in the grill restaurant. We were a party of four and one of our starters was not as expected, on mentioning this to a member of staff a sorry was all we received, we then mentioned it to another member serving our table again same response. On paying the bill we were able to inform the duty manager who again apologised and informed us that she had been told but did not follow it up, she got quite stressed and appeared to be unable to keep calm, in what was not a stressful situation, but managed to create one, and making us feel that it was our fault. We feel that a training course for the restaurant staff on customer relations would not go amiss. (we did not have to pay for the starter. Although this happened the food overall was good and enjoyable, but unfortunately the experience marred the night which should never have happened.

Our room was clean, spacious for the price we paid (£55 include breakfast), with good facilities and good breakfast buffet. Not a dislike, but I was surprised that four a five storey hotel only appeared to have one lift.

“Fantastic family friendly hotel with large rooms and lots of space. We had a large double room with two extra camp beds put in and still had space to swing a cat or two!! The swimming pool area is lovely and although children are only allowed at certain times it is still very family friendly. Breakfast is great and again it is family friendly, my children were very pleased to be allowed to choose their own breakfast! ” Agnes, Reading |
