Opened on Queen Victoria's coronation day in June 1838, the Royal Bath Hotel was the first hotel in Bournemouth. It features 3 hotel restaurants, a health spa and lovely sea views.
Score from 1900 reviews Good
This Victorian townhouse has bright, modern rooms, located just a 5-minute walk from Bournemouth’s award-winning beach.

Situated within the major feeder links, a warm and friendly welcome awaits all guests at this well established 3-star hotel, which offers good quality accommodations with the added touch of a natural...

Room was great, comfy bed, Starbucks in my room.
Gym and pool facilities cost extra despite rather excessive £100 charge for one nights stay. The hotel is nowhere near the city centre or the airport meaning taxis cost a fortune and at the time of my stay all of the card machines were 'broken' meaning all guests had to pay in cash, presumably so they can avoid taxes. Overall the hotel itself is pretty nice however these issues leave a bad taste meaning I probably won't stay there again.
No coffee making facilities in the rooms
Staff, cleanliness, breakfast, good WiFi, comfortable, pool and jacuzzi
10 out of 10 everything you need when on a lads trip away
Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, large, comfortable room. Nice, relaxed atmosphere.
Can't think of any negative points.
25m swimming pool with designated lap lane - A+ Staff friendly and obliging at pool and in hotel Good facilities and value - we extended our stay by a further day and would have stayed longer if we had time availably
No where to excercise dog (she slept in the car) Location on a very busy road junction No fish on brekfast menu - even as an extra
Very comfortable staff all friendly
Friendly well presented and knowledgeable staff quick to resolve situations which could not have been forseen without any Hesitation
An incident occurred on the previous night to our arrival which resulted in the corridor on which our rooms were situated on having an extremely bad smell in it ....However this was dealt with upon notification and we were compensated
Facilities were excellent, good restaurant menu and relaxation value was excellent with excellent leisure gym and pool.
Ambience in bar not great so we sat in lounge and listened to singer.
Easy free parking, good décor, pool.
We have stayed at this hotel now several times and on each occasion there has been an incident ranging from opening the door to our allocated room to find a guy already in bed there, no speaker dock in their Upper Deck room (Excuse the last guest must have stolen it) to cold water at 5am in the morning when leaving for the airport.
Comfortable large room, great heating, excellent meals with various venues to choose from, fabulous leisure club with classes, pool, spa, gym etc. Good location near to everything the area has to offer. Huge free car park and free unlimited wi-fi. Excellent
Nothing will definitely stay again.
Don't get me wrong, I love the hotel, but as my company foot the bill, I would certainly look around for a cheaper option if I was paying the bill. Can't knock the gym, pool or breakfast, but with no single occupancy rate, this hotel really sell each room to you at a double occupancy price of which £80 is worth it - although this still comes with no breakfast.
£80 for a room for one person per night is a bit pricey. But if you work in JP Morgan or the hospital, then there's no other choice of quality nearby.
The staff were very friendly and made me feel very welcome. It is a big hotel but with a very personal feel to it. Spacious and comfortable room. Very good breakfast. Friendly bar with good choice of beers and good food!
Nothing not to like!
Bed, room, staff and facilities.
The catering arrangements. You needed to queue for breakfast, there was no information given that Sunday lunch is only a 3 course meal in the restaurant and that the restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings. The food in the 'pub' area was inedible. No priority was given to hotel guests. The sound proofing in the rooms is not adequate.
I have to say the facilities at this hotel are excellent. Our room(upper deck) was really modern and so cosy, we loved the Bose sound system. The bed was really comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Fabulous stay, we have already tried to book again for a long weekend, but it's all booked up. Most definitely going to go to this hotel again.
Only one criticism and that was the girl at the pool was quite rude.
Very imited tv chanels, with no guide on the tv menu or in the room. Could not use showeras couldnt get water to go tothe head,
location, parking, staff & superb breakfast!!!
not being able to set up charges to bill as could only use credit card
Big rooms Comfortable Clean
One night is not enough to sample all the facilities
Staff friendliness, yummy and plentiful breakfast and dinner, large room with lovely bathroom, the pool area especially the pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna! Huge car park with lots of spaces. The whole experience was excellent and will definitely use a Village hotel again!
One of our evening meals in the Verve restaurant was spoilt by a child at the table behind ours playing games on her electronic device. The bleeps and 'tunes' were loud and really annoying! We have always taught our kids that after 19:30 is 'Adult' time and to be respectful of the grown-ups within earshot and be quiet. Not the fault of the hotel but of inconsiderate parents.
Rooms were comfortable and clean, breakfast was surprisingly good, staff were friendly.
It was very good. The facilites were good. Staff friendly and very good location.
Changing room shower on the the swimming pool need a bit of maintenance. Air conditioner could be better. I felt a little bit hot.
Large room and good bed
Bar food was poor, room television (whilst large) had limited channels and "cropped" the image
Staff helpful and the breakfast was good - enough choice to please everyone.
Price of drinks was ridiculous. It has put us off booking for Christmas as otherwise it would be the perfect location for us to visit family.
Location,breakfast and comfortable room. Parking.
Swimming pool.....changing rooms ..not very clean and the chlorine was very strong. Wi-Fi .....Kept losing signal.
The location and parking are excellent and the pool and spa areas are very impressive. The staff are friendly and efficient.
The room was fairly clean but there were cobwebs on some of the lights (it was halloween) coffee rings on the desk and marks on the room divider. Also when the hotel took my payment it added a charge for using my credit card even though booking.com advertises no card booking fee.
