The chef for verve grill seems to change. We've been going to hotel for last two years once per month for business trip. The food to our surprise was for first time juicy and delicious!

The location, just off the motorway, was very convenient. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was reasonable. The lighting everwhere. In the bedroom it was so dim, especially in the bathroom. Whoever designed the rooms was not thinking of functionality. Also, in the bar, you either sat at a table with 4 high powered lights beaming down on you, or else you sat in semi darkness. The whole decor seemed to be very dark. Also, the food was expensive for what you got. I had a the cheese burger and kept thinking I'd eaten some of the paper serviette, the burger was that tastless and cardboard texture.

Have stayed on several occasions after a long trip from S. Wales to visit a family member who is unable to travel. Have appreciated the comfort of the hotel along with the excellent choice of the breakfast menu and leisure facilities. Have taken advantage of special offers to plan our visits. Staff always helpful. Found the main bar noisey/ loud if you wanted a quieter end to the day, but appreciate that you have to appeal to everyone. Would like to have, maybe a family area for families with children, however, hotel is great!! Would always recommend hotel to family and friends.

Good location and very good value for money. At breakfast time, people were wandering around in nightwear in public places, like the dining room and reception area.

Nice rooms, nice facilities - great themed nights for parties Always find the prices of the drinks a tad above extortionate. I understand they will be a little bit more than a pub, but a tenner for two drinks is extreme. Its a shame as you enjoy the night but then leave with the sense you have been ripped off a little. Apart from this it was a good night I would recommend the themed nights but don't expect much change left if you want a drink or two

It was very reasonably priced, the rooms were quiet and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. We attended a Xmas Dinner Dance. The meals were ok, but could have been warmer. The real issue was the price of drinks. For a pint of bitter and a glass of wine, I paid over £10. This is scandalous and completely unnecessary. At least we had a fairly sober evening. However it was enough to put me off using a Village Hote ever again.

It was close to where I had some business Vastly overpriced based on published room rates. However, the rate I actually paid via Booking.com made it much more reasonable. It is not worth the published room rate of £125 pn for b&b and probably not worth much more than the rate I got through Booking.com (£65)
