Leisure facilities. Controllable heating and comfortable bed.
Good hotel with very good gym and facilities. Free WiFi. Restaurant menu has improved since my last visit, good selection of non-meat options. 2.00GBO charge for VISA Card dropped
Price varies a lot dependent on demand.
Excellent gym. Nice food in restaurant and friendly staff.
Room was getting a bit dated. In need of inprovement.
Had my party in Vibe Suite. Venue, food and Disco all good. Staff friendly and helpful.
going up then down in lifts for one journey...confusing. Maps next to lifts would be helpful.
Really lovely staff, Lovely room and really good pleasant trip all round
Bar was shut on a Saturday night at 12, would have expected it to be open a little longer, ( maybe not bad for everyone I just wasn't ready for bed)
Hotel is an ideal base in the Coventry area. Leisure facilities are excellent perfect for a family break. Breakfast good quality and excellent service.
Enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.
Would like the pool to have been open longer for children. We didn't arrive until just after 6 and children had to be out of the pool by 7.
BRead fast was nice buffet with lots of varieties.
I booked twould nights b&b with a dinner first night. We had very limited selection from the menu.they gave us a separate menu which we had to pay for apart from the dinner that they said is included in our room rate. Well the bill came at £49 with some points then we had to pay the difference which was £19 with some points. Supprisingly on the day we signed out we were given a bill of £1.79 to pay which we didn't have any clue. It took them about 15minutes to sort that hence we missed our train. This was very embracing. The staff were not organized. Thanks for the lady who came later to sort this out for us. I'm a regular customer at village hotels for two years now. Never been to this Coventry one before this trip. I think the staff need to use common sense in some situations like this. I paid by card.how comes I cold miss paying £1.70something pence?
the bed was soiled
Good size room, comfy bed, good location, good sized car park.
Decor tired and outdated, bit shabby but clean enough.
trek from reception to room
The pool area, staffs were very friendly, breakfast.
It was Christmas and of course we can't expect nothing to be open to eat at other restaurant so we do need to use the restaurant and the pub services of the hotel. Firstly the staff in the pub called Sarah said that she could not serve food to us because it was only for the families that have pre booked but I said we were guests then she said we could order but it would take around 45 minutes to get ready, of course I accepted as there was no other option. After 40 minutes waiting one of the staff, maybe a manager, said they did not have the food that I have ordered, but why they took so long to tell me that? They offered one of the dishes served to the pre booked customers and said would refund my payment in full however they have not refunded our payment.
Poo in toilet pan .guests running along corridor like a herd of elephants at lam
The gym and free wifi are great.
Food is a bit pricey for what you get. Also the £2.50 'credit card fee' doesn't sit well with me. The other hotels I use don't charge this so what's different about The Village?
Staff in the restaurant for breakfast and evening meal for friendly, efficient and helpful. The temperature in the room was good and controllable. All areas were clean.
I did not appreciate being woken at 10.30pm to be told that the Debit Card I had left at Reception could not be used in the restaurant for the meal I had eaten that night and I had to provide the details of the card again. Though I now understand the situation with the card I think it essential that this is explained on check in. The single bed took a trip across the floor each time I sat up in bed and leaned back against the wall.
Good location, straightforward check-in. Excellent breakfast, good service in dining room. Very pleasant stay.
Service charge of £3 for a pizza- wasn't explained there was a charge !!!
Convenient location for my visit. Quick check in system. Comfortable clean rooms, good breakfast selection.
Did not enjoy eating in a noisy crowded bar.
Bedroom ok - warm despite very cold outside.
Object to the credit card surcharge. Inability to give me a company related rate - why was one night £89 and the next night £134. Receptionist unhelpful.
from the moment i checked in to the moment i checked out the staff were always curtious with a very friendly and helpful attitude. The facilities even though i didn't make use of them were of e very high standard, so overall i enjoyed my stay and would stay again.
The hotel had atmosphere great value for money!
Proximity to town centre and transport links, Spacious room, clean, good overall facilities
On my visit jacuzzi was out of order, otherwise no complaints.
Good choice of food at reasonable prices.
Nobody at reception when I arrived at 3pm, waited for 5 minutes to be seen. Went to run a bath at 10pm, just a trickle of water, same with the shower. I complained at checkout only to be asked if everything else was ok so I repeated my complaint. It was suggested the next time I book to phone the hotel and they will check the bath is working! No offer of recompense or better terms on a future booking. I felt ignored and a nuisance. Simply not good enough.
Staff are very good, kayleigh was particularly helpful in sorting out a breakfast to-go! Both bar and restaurant are excellent, and the leisure facilties are first class.
Being charged for using a credit card?? Yikes! What century are we in?? What an unnecessary own goal that one is. And it's news you find out as you check out so your last memory of the hotel is a negative one. Laughably short sighted. And the staff excuses for this were just as woeful; "we're just being upfront most hotels bury the cost in their rate" (if that's true, which I doubt as hotels give you the room rate before they know how you will pay, then Village Urban would do well to follow suit). "there are notices / signs up around advising you we charge for credit card use" (oh thats ok then because I often walk around a hotel on arrival looking at all the small print on the signs and notices!) If it's fundamental to your business model (which I very much doubt) how about a 2.5% discount for using a debit card??
