Good access to and from Headingley and the Leeds North Ring Road. Very noisy environment. I turned up just after 3 pm, expecting to be able to check-in only to be told that there were no rooms ready (this despite the check-out time being advertised as 11 am). I was subsequently allocated a room above the bar, from which loud music was audible until 11.30 pm and further noise from its customers until 12.30 am. My overall impression of the establishment is that its function as a hotel has become secondary to the other activities. If you want somewhere that you will get a decent night's sleep, then this isn't the place to stay.

Hotel provides a standard formula for VIllage hotels of gym/sport facilities alongside pub/coffee house/ restaurant Location is good for Headingley and the University Hotel was noisy throughout the night. Some of the leisure facilities are a little tired and well used. Quality of the evening meal was poor for the price, and we would have been better off leaving the hotel and walking to some excellent nearby restaurants on the high street.

The only hotel we consider when staying in Leeds.Amenities are superb. Although 5 miles outside the city centre , public transport is very good , allowing exploration of the many bars & restaurants.

Health spa The most uncomfortable stay I have ever had in a hotel. I think the air con was broken. Worst nights sleep ever. My wife nearly passed out in the restaurant at breakfast as it was too hot. Even the staff were complaining.

Location. Was a bit tatty (threadbare carpet at the door), very basic rooms, very basis toiletries, very ordinary breakfast - mass produced. The whole experience had a mass produced feel.

Breakfast was ok We travelled 200 miles to settle our daughter into uni and were disappointed we had to wait til 9.30 for a table for dinner (we went to another hotel and sat down at 8pm). At £111 for b&b we felt that this was not good value for money at all.

Convenient location. Definitely not 4 star quality. Rooms travel lodge standard. No toiletries at all in bathroom just 2 soap dispensers. Noisy room near lift. Lobby area a bit shabby could do with a refurb. Ok for 1 night wouldn't recommend.

Staff and cleanliness The room we stayed in was noisey - all of the time a sound similar to a water cistern constantly filling could be heard in the room which was disturbing - if we were staying for more than one night (we often spend upto 7 nights at a hotel) we would have asked to be moved. The room was also very hot. All this said, we would stay with you again - but not in the same room.

We were allocated a room directly above a function room which had a disco on. The noise was booming through the floor. The staff were very unhelpful when I called & said they were fully booked an would therefore try to turn the music down. I had to make suggestions to them how they could compensate me. We also had a meal in the Verve Grill, £14.95 for a chicken dish which was really pricey and to top it off the chicken was undercooked, luckily I hadn't eaten any and sent the meal back. Overall a bad experience.

Good gym and pool Very noisy hen parties/wedding groups on Friday and Saturday nights ( with drunks slamming doors and shouting all through the night). It was suggested I should ask for a quiet room next time.

We booked a family room and informed the hotel that the ages of our daughters was 14 years. We arrived to a double bed and a small sofa bed with the most pitiful excuse for a mattress, in a room that was small. With the sofa bed out, there was no room for our bags. The girls shared the sofa bed for one night, but it was a disaster and we had to move to 2 rooms for the following night........more money for us. Tip to hotel. If you advertise that you cater for families and sell a "family" room.....make sure it can accomodate a family. A sofa bed is not adequate in a small room. The reason we chose this hotel was because it offered us a family room.....booking 2 rooms for every night of a holiday for most families is cost prohibitive.

Very noisy. Wrong information given from the staff (can take dogs but have been told that we couldn't). Had to put my cover into the cover sheet myself. Swimming lesson into the swimming pool so only half of the swimming pool available.

The location was ideal as it was equal distance from the airport and the Company I had to meet with. The sticky toffee pudding with hot custard was very nice. Thin bedroom walls; I could hear the television from the neighbouring bedroom as if it were on in my own room this was annoying as I was trying to study during the evening. I could still hear the film that was on in the neighbouring bedroom when I was trying to get to sleep. The next night I was moved to a quieter room (282), it was much quieter, but the bed was so hard it was like sleeping on a plank of wood, hence I still struggled to get to sleep. Please offer choice of quiet room and soft, medium or hard mattress on your booking form. Music in the restaurant was annoyingly loud. I appreciate background music but that's where it should be. Grapefruit juice served at breakfast was off; with a fermenting type of smell and taste.

We have stayed at the Village Hotel in Leeds several times whilst visiting our three children at university, and have always been impressed by the value-for-money, cleanliness, service and food. We stay there as it is convenient for the universities and for town centre shopping, and has its own car park. We did feel that breakfast was a little disorganised this time and had to wait while stocks were replenished, although the standard of the food was still good for the money (as long as you are not expecting haute cuisine).

The leisure facilities My room was very noisey, loud music till 9.30 pm then loud running water like sound all night. Food was very expensive for what it was: ordered a mushroom starter which costs £6 and was given 2 tiny mushrooms for that price!!

I was staying there on the occasion of a family funeral taking place nearby. The hotel, staff and facilities were all excellent. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. I hope to stay there again under better circumstances in the future. There was an issue with regard to lack of sound-proofing and inconsiderate guests in the corridor. However, this did not spoil my overall view of the hotel.

Decent location and decent facilities Unfortunatley there were a lot of children and it was new years eve, we went for a quiet night away from everything and the resteraunt/bar which you needed a ticket to enter (we didnt have one or want to pay for one) had extremely loud music on till 2 in the morning at the other end of the building it was still too loud, we are a young couple but we felt let down by the experience and wont be going again anytime soon! For the money the rooms are fairly standard!

I liked where it was situated, near Leeds and near Leeds Trinity University. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed using the pool and leisure facilities. The bar was comfortable and welcoming. The shower in the room wasn't very powerful or easy to direct and the soap/shower gel dispensers were not very effective.
