Coffee shop was a good idea.Excellent facilities for those with disabilities. Buffet breakfast was haot and a good selection. Noisy location internal and external View and noise from roof extraction system - ghastly! Given disabled room near very noisy disabled lift (when we are not disabled) Disabled Lift was being used as fun toy by children - possibly could be locked?

Good location - easy to find. Parking - although car parks were large, finding a space took some time as both main & over-spill car parks were full.

Really didn't enjoy our stay at this hotel. It's quite shocking the fact that it's a 4-star. I would not have given it even 3... The lady in reception welcome us with a "Surname?"; That was a good start. The room was in poor condition: dirty walls, painting coming out, spider nets in the bathroom, ... It was quite empty as well, as if they had taken most of the furniture out just before. So all in all, the image was quite sad and really unpleasant. We asked to be changed but they said it was full and they couldn't do anything. Really don't recommend this hotel. We will not stay again.

Spotless. We booked this hotel at short notice due to a family member involved in an accident nearby. The staff, the food and the hotel were superb. We would use this hotel again without a doubt when visiting relatives. Well done.

Nothing except its convenient location on the m20 motorway and the bistro meals in 'pub' were quite good and the staff in that part only were friendly The staff were unbelievably unhelpful, not welcoming and rude. For early December and early evening the reception was only staffed by one, then later two, people which was totally inadequate. We arrived very tired and had to wait behind a person who was counting out a large amount of coins to pay for a group meal. The receptionist was unable to deal with this and us checking in at the same time. The second receptionist then said to us 'cant you see that I am trying to deal with someone else! '( no welcome whatsoever) There was a very dirty towel in the bedroom and we could not find the second set of towels. We complained about this and asked for new towels whilst we were eating but when we returned they had still not been replaced so had to complain again when the reply was 'we could not get into your room as you were not there!' The toilet was broken and continually and noisily flushing through - although this was in the end fixed quickly when somebody eventually came ( after we had gone to bed) it was clear that it was a recurrent problem in the hotel as he knew exactly what to do ( and said as much) There was hole in a bedsheet. The reception area of the hotel was very dirty when we arrived and still the same when we passed it to eat, when we noticed in particular a dirty tissue on the floor. When we returned from eating after an hour the dirty tissue was still there. A little later we observed a cleaner vacuuming the carpet and carefully working around the dirty tissue. Why did not one of the receptionists remove it straight away as it was verty much in their line of sight? We paid more to book this hotel as we thought the De Vere name was 'up market' but it turned out to be worse in many ways than your average travel lodge

The situation, building and parking is excellent, hotel facilities were adequate. We were very disappointed with Verve Restaurant, the staff were very pleasant but the overall service was attrocious. We waited 3/4 hour between starter and main course which was only just warm when it was received, we did mention this and the staff apologised. We ordered drinks and they took ages to come to the table and when I ordered dessert that took about 20mins to arrive. Overall I would not recommend the restaurant unless you had several hours to waste.

Good clean, and convenient location. The room was very nicely designed and the bed was very comfortable. A maid did knock on the door while we were in bed, but it was very hard to tell if it was our bedroom door she was knocking on, so was a little embarrasing when she started to open the door. The gas stove broke while we were there, so breakfast was limited (on second morning of stay), but staff did apologise and these things do happen!! The breakfast would be improved if better quality bread was used for toasting, but I expect this would effect price, but may be an idea to bake own bread. Overall my husband and I had a pleasant stay and would use this hotel again.

I really enjoyed the pool and sauna area, the steam room is large, and the hot tub really nice. The room was very pleasant. The location wasn't great, it was a tad difficult to find. I think a car is needed.

Easy to find the hotel from the main road. Nice breakfast Nice pool I wasn't made to feel particularly valued. Payment required upon check in (not check out?). Eat in Victory Pub - place was dirty with litter on floors. Ordered £60 of food which took 45mins to arrive and was cold. Staff took food back and returned it mildly warmer. Ordered room service (desserts) and had to pay cash to waiter or walk downstairs to pay by card at reception?! Some staff looked miserable (pool attendants).

Excellent facilities at a very competitive price - particularly the pool. Breakfast really good value for money. The toasting machine was a bit on the slow side, as you had to feed the bread through twice!! A pity there aren't any Village hotels in Devon & Cornwall as we would certainly use them!
