Bed was soooo comfy
TV channels were on the blink
very comfortable bedrooms quiet and good night sleep
asked for 7.30alarm call but it didnt happen - so slept in..!!
The lift was out of order and I am disabled so it was a bit of a problem but the staff were very understanding . And helpful.
The swimming pool is one of the best for this type of hotel
A long way out from central Nottingham (but a good fast bus service)
An all round great hotel. Needed a stopover before final destination to Centre Parcs, Sherwood Forest the following day. After a long journey the pool was a welcome tonic. Two options to eat at the hotel & within very close walking proximity, eating establishments located outside the hotel car park. Staff were very helpful. Free wifi was a bonus too.
Due to hotels building shape I didn't like the room given only because the view had the roof of other side of block & flat roof below. It made it dark & was un attractive to just look at roof tiles near to window. As only staying a night it wasn't a huge problem.
Excellent value, first class food, lovely leisure facilities, very helpful staff, all in all a great place to stay
a small fridge in the room would be welcome
The staff were pleasant and helpful. This is an ideal place for business stay but i found it way to expensive to eat and drink here if a family and to much going on.
Drink and food prices! Overall feel not family oriented.
Great food from restaurant Nice swimming pool Large TV (managed to plug my iPad in)
The hotel isn't that far from Alton Towers & is good for the facilities to entertain the kids in the morning. Only down side was kids weren't allowed in the Pool after 6pm. But apart from that a good trip.
All was good apart from the kids not being allowed on the pool after 6pm
Nice pool and the evening meal and breakfast were good.
No air conditioning and windows that only opened an inch. The room was far too hot to sleep at all and the fan in the room showered us with a cloud of dust. Didn't get any sleep at all. We complained to the duty manager who promised to get back to us and we are still waiting three days later for the call!!
The location The room however the bathroom was showing signs of its age.
We thought breakfast should be included in the high price for the room. The use of the gym and pool should be optional, offering a lower room rate for people not using them Access to the lift and stairs was obstructed by groups of people sitting and standing waiting for friends or to leave/checkout. The coffee shop Starbucks should be moved to enlarge the reception area for guests.
It was like sleeping in a sweat box as the hotel does not have air con. I lost a chain and contacted the hotel 10 hrs later when I realised it was missing. I have been fobbed off several times as nobody can be bothered to check the room or lost property. I have yet to receive the promised TC letting me know if it's been found or not. I would not stop at this hotel again it is not worth the prices they charge. If you lose any personal items it takes the staff too long to investigate so it's unlikely you will ever see your property again.
I went to the Village to treat my 3 young girls ages 7,5 and 3 for a girly weekend. The staff were absolutely great and very helpful with me and the girls especially as my children thought it would be fun to play in the lifts but then leave my 3 year old on a random landing. My girls run riot in a playful way it wasn't frowned upon once. I would definately reccomend it.
The staff were great, breakfast was very good and facilities were very good
Good size room. Clean. Spacious bathroom. Good enough breakfast. Reception staff, breakfast staff and cleaning team - all friendly. Excellent gym. Didn't use spa.
Comfort of the beds.
Wifi signal was pretty poor.
The hotel was easy to find, really quick and easy check in, loads of free car parking and sky sports in the bar.
The whole place was unbelievably hot meaning it was really hard to sleep @ £100 per night ridiculous really. Even the bar area was boiling. The bar was understaffed on the Fri and Sat PM during our stay.
Hot weather and room and hotel needed air conditioning
Helpful service in all aspects. Thank you.
Dripping tap in the bathroom Room 126
Went to bed early, about 9pm only to be woken numerous times by someone hammering. I appreciate there was building work underway but that should not have been happening so late in the day.
Excellent service, helpful staff. Quiet room. Superb swimming pool and spa facilities. Great location next to nature reserve for evening runs & walks.
Room keys are swipe cards that get wiped when kept near mobile phones or credit cards (i.e. in a handbag). Room was located 3 long corridors and 4 flights of stairs away from reception & restaurant.
Location McDonalds next door (have to go there because food is so bad)
Food was HORRENDOUS! We were given a full refund after complaining about each course! Rooms need cleaning and updating Like a maze, given a room in the depths of the hotel about 2 miles from reception TV is awful Checkout is not until 11am but we had a knock at the door at 8:00am where the cleaner walked in and tried to clean!
The food super The pool super the staff perfect prices reasonable Water hot food hot rooms excellent and clean no complaints brilliant will come again soon.
Price hike whilst booking on 4th July purchased on line double room £95 inc breakfast went up £115 then £125 the ended at £125 no breakfast if we wanted that it was £9.50 each not very good service when the day after my sister booked a room at £80 inc breakfast so we cancelled ours poor service at the bar one person on at 19.30pm and 200 guest waiting to be served also no cordial Lime or Black current bedroom very hot facing car park, and entrance to Hotel all way down road parked Transit Vans
Rooms were too hot, humid and stuffy (no air-con) and unable to adequately ventilate due to windows (on 2nd floor) opening restricted. We understand that windows are restricted for security and child safety!
