Rooms are well worn.I dropped something behind the Radiator, when I retrieved it,it was very Dirty.
Location was close to our friend's home Cost was reasonable Room and bathroom sizes great Served breakfast first morning excellent Staff lovely Ample parking Our first room was very damp but easily changed at reception
Rooms could definitely do with a refurb. Light switches behind pillows Breakfast on Sunday and Monday morning was buffet, which was not hot and the stairs to tables made it difficult to have to carry food and coffee up them. Hallway has steps to different levels which makes carrying cases difficult
The confort and feel
The bar is open to locals
very cheap all staff were great, very helpful gym was good bar was good
wifi only in the bar/reception so very distracting to use laptop there room smelled decor was damaged and dated breakfast was not too good - though plenty of it
Lovely from the outside Good price Nice breakfast Nice bar
Dated carpets throughout rooms and corridors. TV in room 117 wouldn't pick up any channels.
Comfy bed. Good steam room. Nice breakfast. Pleasant, smiling staff.
Fire alarm going off in the middle of the night. Wifi not working in the bedrooms.
Better beds needed
The bed uncomfortable
The receptionist ladies were fab
Noisy rooms, due to paper thin walls. Rude staff in the restaurant. But the non smoking rooms stunk of smoke, when we complained we were ignored. The lady next door swore and shouted and ran a taxi firm through the wall. All we got was, oh sorry.
Very friendly staff - always willing to assist with any request.
Very comfortable bed, good breakfast, easy location for the city and good value for money.
Bathroom could do with some work, the room we had just covered our requirements for the short time of our stay, but still could do with some work.
Helpful staff Lots of helpful extras included FOC Good location and parking for my needs Exceeds overall expectations
Rooms are dated and not thought out/designed properly. Example is that the taps in the bathroom aren't positioned properly to a point where you can't actually get your hands under them! Feels cheaply done but the hotel does have to work within its historical confines.
Did not have time to check out the leisure facilities but for a weekend stay it was ideal. £8 in taxi to centre of Manchester for the bars and the staff were lovely. Breakfast was fantastic and they couldn't do enough to help. Bar prices were also excellent a large wine and pint just over £5
Rooms could be a bit more modern and shower was a little basic.
Staff were very nice & friendly Food very reasonable Comfy bed
The staff were lovely and very welcoming! We really enjoyed our time at the hotel and thought it was good quality for money! We would stay again and it's good location for a short distance into Manchester
Would have been better if there was a pool there and the wifi was accessible in the rooms.
Dated & dirty rooms Smell Poor quality breakfast
Great price and suited our need for booking good value hotel at short notice.
Thwaits beer in the bar was awful I'm afraid. Could have improved breakfast by giving a fruit and yogurt selection.
We stayed 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay the first night, unfortunately the second night was spoiled by a noisy wedding party who kept us awake throughout the night. Good leisure facilities, lovely breakfast, pleasant helpful staff, good value for money.
Noisy wedding party.
The food was reasonably priced and nicely presented, using good quality ingredients. The service was good and with a smile.
Noisy, grubby room with scorch marks on the furniture and well worn and faded carpets. The walls were water-stained and the curtains grey, they were so old. The walls were like paper, so thin was the partition between rooms. The bathroom had a curtain rail for the bath that was rusting and the toilet had to be manhandled to get it to flush. The toiletries in the bathrooms were used once and were removed after I asked for the room to be serviced and were not replaced, leaving me with nothing to wash or shower with after the first day. Loud and ignorant drunks seemed to have the run of the place and it was obvious to me what was being watched on the television in neighbouring rooms because I could hear both sides above my own television, which was similarly antiquated. I was also constantly unnerved by the sound of the squash players hitting the ball, as the noise could be clearly heard in the room. Altogether, a very mixed experience. One gets the impression that different family members run different parts of the hotel, with the bar and food side scoring much more highly with this traveller than the hotel and hospitality side of the business. I never really got the chance to try out the leisure facilities. This was probably because I had very little sleep during my stay and was too tired to do so!
Was a lovely hotel with very helpful staff rooms ok bed comfy and drinks and food well priced
Inexpensive; good gym facilities and reasonable breakfast.
Hallway carpets filthy, poor tv reception, inefficient service at breakfast.
The food was good and drinks where excellent price! The bar and reception are done out and decorated lovely and modern. Staff were lovely and friendly!
We booked two rooms one was nicely decorated and modern but the other had old fashions bed sheets and not as newly furnished. The facilities are slightly dated.
Free parking and free wifi Breakfast was ok
I asked in the evening if it would be ok to print something of in the morning for work I was told that was fine in the morning i was told no you can not use the printer because of this I will not book again.
The breakfast, good parking, convenient location. Friendly staff
One of the single beds had not been changed but this was put right. The noisy adults on the corridor after an evening wedding party, also children constantly running up and down.
Reception area, dining area and function room were all nice.
My room smelt of cigarettes, I had no cups to make a brew with and a half eaten packet of biscuits. The room was damp and the decoration was dated. I complained at reception before going out for dinner but when I returned the smell had not improved and I still had a half eaten packet of biscuits. All I got at reception was 'we are not doing very well are we'. Not what I would expect for a £70 a night room.
