Attitude of staff at breakfast - we had to wait quite a while for a member of staff to come and take us to a table - we could not see any staff in sight. We decided to find out own table - a member of staff (female) was then seen in the breakfast area. She told us to "go and wait by the door" we explained that we had been waiting quite a while and her reply was "no you havent been waiting long" and then took us back to the table we had just been to. This expereince spoiled what was otherwise a very pleasant one for us.

Pool, comfortable bed, breakfast, parking. Noise @ 5.30am of laundry arriving each morning . Rooms small and dark. I think someone objected to us watching telly at 9 to 10pm as there was a lot of stamping on ceiling until we turned it down.

The facilities and the layout of the hotel in a good central location but still in a peaceful surrounding We had to queue and wait to be seated for breakfast on both days and although i accept that the hotel was very busy i would expect that staffing levels should have reflected this.

Good parking facility Restaurant was a appauling - to be honest breakfast was a joke and many complaints for waiting for a buffet breakfast for over half an hour, and then when you eventually got a table the buffet was very hit and miss and the food items, plates/glasses had ran out of practically everything. No one had any idea of service or what they were responsible for - even the manager. You This was also the same for dinner - many were complaining of lack of service and then when they were served their starter after 45 minutes of waiting, they received the wrong starters twice and so on. My partner had his steak brought out before his starter and expected him to eat that without myself and our starters first. Tables in the restaurant and in the bistro were always dirty as well as the floors. No one cleared the dirty tables. At 10pm you could not even buy a coffee in the bistro. I was extremley dissapointed with the stay at this hotel - training and lack managerial skills, the bistro is in real need of decorating and cleaning. The cleanliness of the bathrooms were not to standard either. Lack of public area seating - this taken up by starbucks that is not even open in the evenings when guests are wishing to sit and have an enjoyable drink. Overall organisation was of the whole hotel was well below standard but I would say that the staff did try but they were fighting an uphill battle everyday. I recommend bedroom lights to be on a dimmer switch. I booked this hotel as we needed to be in the area for visiting Manchester and Liverpool over the weekend and I am so dissapointed. I chose, what I thought was a trusted brand and having many years of the hospitality industry behind me, I must say I am shocked that an hotel with the DeVere brand can run and survive in this difficult climate when so many trying businesses would value the number of clients that you had staying at your hotel this weekend.

purpose built hotel with all mod-cons & leisure facilities, bars and restaurant. Room chosen was 'upper deck' class (superior?) with iPod dock and full range of SKY channels, very modern rooms dinner service extremely slow and very poor value for money, especially desserts. Room was apparently 'superior' but to my eyes all you got extra was an iPod player and extra SKY channels... room was quite basic in furnishings (style choice?) which meant no where to put case other than on the floor - a luggage rack of some sort would be good! Don't feel I got value for money here

I liked the location. The room was smart and comfy and breakfast was very nice!. Toiletries in this hotel means a shower gel attached to the wall and NOTHING else. I would have expected this from a low rate travel lodge and the advertising is misleading. Do not expect the advertised i-pod dock either, it does not exist! Not enough milks provided either...i went out and bought my own.

Friendly staff, clean and above average rooms, good room facilities incl drinks etc, great breakfast and though we did not use it the gym appeared to be very good. The bed was very comfortable and was one of the few hotel beds that I have ever managed to sleep in.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a 3 month old baby with us and came on Christmas party weekend and unfortunately had to complain about noise from our neighbours twice. The complaints were dealt with swiftly and professionally by the hotel staff. Thank you. Also, the leisure facilities were fantastic and child friendly. Our only issue was the noise. The first night our complaints were dealt with well. The second night was from the disco.
