Really enjoyed staying there, would Defo return if the price was good!
Only the fire alarm going off at 2 am,we all had to get up and go to the assemble point,it was just one of those things that do happen!we were soon back in our cosy bed,
Staff were wonderful very polite and courteous respectful atall times
Like the fact that it had a leisure facility with sauna/steam room and reasonable size pool. Room cleaned next day. asked for more towels and it was no problem. plenty of parking.
Arrived at midnight and expected someone to be at the desk and not have to wait to be seen to. Was told the bar would be open for residents but by the time I put bags into room and came back down the bar had shut and no one at desk to talk to. Waited five minutes at desk then went back to room.
Hotel overall Leisure facilities
Rooms hot, no aircon Price Poor tv reception/channels Breakfast
Had a very good meal in the Victory Bar and their was plenty of choice at breakfast. Pity we had to wait nearly 10 minutes for a fried egg to appear.
Had lost our booking, it had been put under a different name.Did not receive an apology. The water in the swimming pool was freezing cold, this was our 3rd visit and it was exactly the same previously. There were lots of weddings and hen parties going on in the hotel over the weekend, which is probably the main income stream for the hotel. So basically they couldn't care less about the other guests. We will not be staying here again
I like the location as it suited our needs but still far from the city centre
Handles were coming off the doors, mold in the bathroom, very old scary lift
Location, food and restaurant staff
Room was dirty and needed to be cleaned by a nice cleaner, as above noise and even sex outside our window
The room was a good size, clean and comfortable bed.
Noisey people next door!!!
free parking, iron, good hairdryer, clean, comfortable, spacious room, free wi-fi, fair breakfast, swimming pool, free newspaper.
staff could be more friendly, towels a bit hard, lift didn't seem to work, minimal choice of TV channels.
While we were there we were treated with the utmost courtesy and politeness. Your staff couldn't have been more helpful.
For me, the location was too close to the road and the noise affected my sleep. There was also a lot of noise from other people during the night.
Lovely Staff & access to pool & gym included
Wedding guests keeping us up till 4am
Hot night with window open and the noise of the motorway outside
the room was clean and cosy all staff were helpful welcoming staff
the price of the food was very high. over priced!!!! had to wait 2 hours in total for starter, dinner, and pudding abit noisey got woke up at 1am by giggling girls outside my room. swimming pool was very cold.
Staff were very helpful in the bar.
Breakfast wasn't nice, very cheap sausage. Didn't even compare to a Premier Inn for breakfast and was very concerned as the hotel is part of the De Vear group. Found a packet on the toilet floors which could only be described as have had remainders of illegal drugs, which I am glad I saw and my son didn't pick up. I passed the item to the receptionist who didn't seem to care.
Convenient location, helpful staff everywhere, particularly when door key wouldnt work. Nice pool and gym.
Beds poorly made, cobwebs on lampshades, lockers in changing rooms full of dust ( door tops clearly never cleaned), very 80's look. Meal took an age to arrive, and was average. Drinks took 30 mins to arrive. Not one table for 4 anywhere, music too loud. Room much too hot, we slept badly
No wifi in room
good for getting round the outskirts of liverpool
Friendly relaxed atmosphere, able to bring our dogs
Bar food unimaginative and expensive
the swimming pool was lovely and all staff were helpful
the location and slightly noisy from the club
Location is good as is the parking facilities. Proper hot water not lukewarm. Very clean bathroom and windows
I hate saying anything bad about hotels as I know they are on a tight budget but I paid good money for this (£79) and spend lots of time in hotels but this has to be said. I will just say that Village resorts need to do better, my first and last visit to one of these places. Surely they cant all be this bad but I wont be staying at any more! I have pictures to back up my claims below. The noise from the very close motorway is atrocious, if you sleep light (and I do not) do not expect any sleep if you leave the window open. I can sleep through most things but this was something else and I did struggle for a good nights sleep. Entered the room to find a light fitting at the side of the bed loose on the wall. No curtains on the windows (track and pelmet was there but no curtains!!) only a venetian blind, so no way of blocking all the light out. Door frame around the entrance to the room coming away from the wall, looked like a casualty of a door incident of some sort. Screws in the walls above the bath as if something had been ripped off the wall and screws not removed. Heavy staining to the bottom of the bath. Flaky artex at the edges of the bathroom ceiling (asbestos risk from broken / damaged Artex). Remnants of packaging around the edges of the bathroom door (how long has this place been built?) Protective cover missing off the room temperature sensor (electrical hazard) The worst shower head I have ever encountered no spray on it and more like a tap than shower spray) I left early the next morning, before breakfast was served and only when I had paid was I tole that if I had rung room service they would have done me a continental breakfast to go. Why did no one say that when I checked in! I could continue with a few other things but I wont
staff were good
pool staff were not to health and safety standards. possible risk to childrens safety. bar staff are possibly over charging customers. restaurant menu needs attention.
No hot water in the bath for a bath or shower
All staff encountered were very helpfull and friendly.
Room had an adjoining door through which we could hear every word from next door.
Nice location lovely breakfast
One night noisy due to football supporters but hotel has offered us a free nights stay at a later date
All staff excellent, friendly.
Room was spotlessly clean, but the bath was filthy underneath the bath mat. Restaurant and bar expensive.
