Friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable room. We had asked for a quite room and we got one on the top floor at the end of the corridor which was great. The pool was a bit too hot, it was like swimming in a bath. The bar closed at 11pm Mon-Thursday, although they had some drinks available at reception it is not the same thing.

Location was ideal for us travelling to the Wirral and then after the second night Manchester. Easy to find and very comfortable. Parking was not easy as we had to be some distance away and carry our cases up steps. But we managed a small gripe.

Its location and excellent sports facilities. The hotle is beginning to lok tired, the bathroom was showing signs of wear. The overall impression is of a hotel that needs to be refurbished.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming - especially on Reception. The leisure facilities were very well kept and very relaxing. The bar meal was very good and nicely served. Good value for money. The room was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was limited if you did not want a cooked breakfast and there did not seem to be enough variety for the number of people coming down to breakfast, especially if you were a bit later on for breakfast. It would have been nice to have a choice of different yoghurts, more variety of fruit and a wider selection of rolls, croissants and breads.

The staff were exelent , very much liked the breakfast . Lovely place The noise . Inconsiderate people coming in past 12am waking you up . The disco playing on till 1am in the morning , for these reasons I would never stay again , far to noisey . It's a shame because the staff place and food were great .

I originate from the area and so was visiting family. I usually use a local Premier Inn but the price and facilities of De Vere caught my eye. Assuming the price is competetive I will use De Vere in future. Perfect for my requirements. No complaints at all except the bar prices were high! The room was perfectly comfortable and clean. The breakfast excellent. I also used the Health facilities. I have some queries about the quality of the staff but in other respects the facilities were good. Very impressive for a Hotel.

Check-in staff friendly and helpful . Location for friends and family good . Like a dip in the pool . The food and drink is overpriced (£4-80 a pint) and orders are often wrong . I didn't eat there this year due to bad experiences on other years , but as I checked out other guests were complaining about it . It's too noisy generally , and the tv is very limited (no news channels ) some main channels are v e r y grainy . I had booked two rooms for the second night and so could compare the pictures .

Good location. Great gym/spa. I enjoyed my dinner very much but others dinners complained about food/service. Not sure about car park security as its all open plan. Would prefer a locked compound somewhere. In the end backed up against the only wall close to my room.

The bed was very comfortable I had to request more milk as only 4 small pots for an occupancy of two people, when I requested if there was a massage person in the health club I was advised to go and speak to them, as the person is only there occasionally. When we went to eat in the restaurant we were advised the restaurant was fully booked , so we would have to eat in the bar , which we did but the meal was not very nice and as I had already eaten there at lunch time , the selection was limited. When I asked why I was not informed there was parties booked in and needed to book for the restaurant I was advised it was due to late bookings. Due to the area the hotel is situated we did not have any other choice to eat anywhere else without driving. I have stayed at other village hotels and must admit this one was not the best.

The fitness facilities were excellent. The evening entertainment ruined our stay at this hotel, the base noise from the music went on until 00.45am,discussed several times during the evening with staff and mgt,but nothing was done about it.My family and I had no sleep during the evening due to the noise.I Eventualy got my disatisfaction resolved with the General Manager over the coming days by phone.

I liked the reception staff who tried to help us with our complaint (being placed above a night club was rediculous) but I did not like the fact that 5 days later we have still not heard anything back from a Manager to answer our complaint. This is unacceptable customer service and lets the hotel and the other staff down completely.

The family room was spacious and comfortable. The fitness village facilities were excellent, it was a shame we were only staying for one night and didn't really have time to make full use of the facilities, only the pool. We all made use of the free Wi-Fi. The adjoining pub was very good and in hindsight wished we had used that for our evening meal. Breakfast was great. We chose to eat in the restaurant rather than the pub, as the pub only had one choice of steak whereas the restaurant had a few more options. We chose the "big fat chips" option of potato but were very disappointed with them. Although very tasty, a portion consisted of 6 chips. My wife was having a salad (which was very nice) and ordered a side order of chips at a cost of £3.95 and again got the 6 chips. Having worked in the catering trade for some 20 years we were quite amazed with this. This was the only downside of our stay and would not deter us from staying there again. Breakfast made up for it.

Getting my taxi on my departure. The loud excuse for music blaring away during match of the day, being shown on several large tv screens, while only 5 people were stood at the bar (not watching the tv )While I tried to relax and watch the games.

Close proximity to numerous places worth visiting (Chester Zoo, Blackpool, Cheshire Oaks). Swimming pool great for kids. The award winning 'Victor Pub' was atrocious. Poor service, poor food and not an enjoyable eating experience. Also, swimming pool times were allocated for kids between 0900-1100 and 1400-1700, hardly ideal times for when you are away during the day.

I like the location, it's just off the m62 and close to Whiston train station if I want to go into Town and do a bit of sight seeing. I have been coming here for a number of years now, perhaps it's because I'm getting older but it seems to get noisier year upon year. The Hotel runs a lot of 'Theme Nights' at the weekends in their Function Suite which means a lot of coming and going. I was unfortunate enough to be given a room looking out towards the main entrance during last weekends sudden heat wave. This meant that I had to leave my window open and it was nearly 2.00am before I managed to get some sleep with all the noise that was going on in the outdoor drinking area (and why do Taxi's have to peep their horns every time they arrive to pick someone up, grrrr)
