Swimming pool, gym and spa
The state of the room (in need of decoration).
Our reception was handled very well. We attended a 60th party within the complex which was hosted by the hotel with complete professionalism. The night went well and the gym facilities with pool were outstanding. Highly recommend a visit and function. Slept very well and quiet also. Will return if in the area.
No complaints really
the room was clean and the leisure facilities were brilliant
in the bathroom, the shower wasn't the best, very old and dingy. Breakfast is good that they have a wide variety for hot or cold but the hot food wasn't hot at all it was like it had been sat there for a while and wasn't as hot.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming Food in the restaurant was lovely
Rooms were a bit shabby and in need of some tlc Duvet was very thin 2 rooms were booked several weeks ago and were "Best rate" guaranteed but did not include breakfast but a 3rd room booked nearer the time was a couple of pounds more and included breakfast. The 3rd room was booked for an extra night on arrival at the hotel and the price was the same again and included breakfast - seemed a bit strange that leaving it until the last minute got a better deal.
Really appreciated that they took notice of my dietary requirements, being Coeliac most places just tell me what I cannot have. However, the Village went out of their way to get suitable foods in for my breakfast. Greatly appreciated!
staff and location is perfect
numerous strands of hair on the bed. towels was greyish colour. the bath tub possibly had a blockage, whilst i was having a shower the bath tub filled up extremly quick. causing health and safety issues
Bedroom was good. Car parking.
No wardrobe in bedroom. General areas dirty and littered. The bar was rough and very rowdy. We were not comfortable with drinking in there. So we did without. This Hotel could be so much better with better cleanliness.
Very comfortable bed Good Facilities Nice to have sky available
Cobwebs on the ceiling Towel was damp Handwash, shower gel, shampoo didnt smell very nice.
The location was perfect for a nostalgic trip to the Wirral, central for all locations. Relaxing in the spa after a busy day.
the restaurant prices were very high for poor quality basic food and drink.
The decor, the staff, the Starbucks, the parking, the facilities!
I had previously emailed the hotel to see what was available due to it being my friends birthday and I had/still haven't had a reply!
Swimming Pool friendly staff large family room starbucks is a bonus
restaurant decor seemed dated rooms need more sockets and furnishings require updating
We went with a group of friends and all booked through booking.com. Our friends couldnt check in when they got there because their room wasnt ready so as we left to go to hayodock races they told reception that they would have to check in when we got back and that would be late. When we got back our friends went to check in and were told that their room had been given to somebody else, the hotel had double booked! They did try and blame booking.com saying we were taking a chance booking through them and not directly with the hotel but I always book through booking.com and never ever have I had any trouble before! This was clearly the hotels fault! Our frinds were told that they would have to go to another hotel about 20mins away(bearing in mind it was now around 12.30-1am! After waiting for the taxi around an hour after we got back the hotel said that they had a room come available?? We saw this room and it was a dump! The bed must have been a queen with a double mattress or something because the mattress was smaller than the bed and the tiles in the bathroom were, well not what you would pay for! All we all wanted was a wknd away, without the kids and enjoy, this spoilt the wknd and our friends didn'd know if they were comming or going when all they wanted at that time of night was their bed! Hotel was dissapointing and wouldn't like to see this happening to anybody else!
Décor Breakfast Bar & Restaurant
Nothing comes to mind
Breakfast was poor - buffet style. Croissants and bread not fresh, no toaster available as it had earlier malfunctioned, hot food was only luke warm. Hot counter was not manned.
good location near to where we live. has good spa and leisure facilities.
room was a bit dated had cracks in tiles in bathroom and shower wasnt very good
Friendly, helpful staff.
Decor a bit tired.
Comfortable bed Excellent choice at breakfast
We liked the upper floor rooms, beds were extremely comfortable, the leisure facilities were excellent, sauna, jacuzzis were all working. The restaurants were great ,service was fantastic
10:35 sunday night, told bar closed and cashing up and cant be served.. I went to front desk and told them what i was told and they then informed the bar workers i was infact a resident and could be served ... Lazy bar staff..
First time I've stayed in a Village Hotel. Already looking at booking another stay in another area. Excellent leisure facilities
We had a lovely family party. The staff and facilities were great. I would stay again anytime.
Beds were comfortable. Room was adequate. The staff were polite and pleasant.
There was a wedding on as we arrived. The guests were all over the foyer, bar, outside ... not in the designated room. They were noisy and loud and showed no respect to other guests. We went out to dinner and when we returned there were several police cars present. The police were still there in the morning. The mens' toilets and the lift were out of order. One of our guests had to wait until four o'clock for their room to be ready as they were conducting an interview in the room! The corridors, rooms and general fabric of the interior were very shabby. An expensive night for what it was.
The excellent staff. Plenty to do with the all the facilities. Breakfast was good value
There needs to be a better solution for walking to the car park to the main entrance. You have to walk on the road and there was a lot of cars coming & going.
I booked an accessible room, I didn't get one, which meant because I'm disabled and can't use a bath, I had to forego a shower and put up with a body wash for the whole weekend. I did ask to be moved to a more suitable room, and was told if I packed my things the staff would move them into another room and tell me when it was ok for me to go up to my new room. This never happened, but I had to go to reception myself and ask before anyone told me they didn't have a suitable room free after the other member of staff had promised me he would do something for me. The room I had was so hot, it was really uncomfortable and despite there being no heating on, it was very hot and stuffy with no air conditioning. Again because I am disabled, I have limited reach and therefore couldn't even open a window! I will think twice before staying here ever again!
