The food was second to non as was the service
Room was too warm for my preference even when switched off and window open
I loved the decor of the bedrooms & facilities. I loved the setting of the hotel.
I thought i would like a room at the front (No,7) as it overlooked the green but on the first night a group of drunken men congregated at the main entrance which was below our window. The noise & language was terrible it was like they were in our room, it went on for hours & until very late. it seemed that this is where prople would congregate to either have a drink, a smoke or wait for a taxi, as this is what happened on the 2nd night. I am glad we were only staying 2 nights in that room, a week of noise like that wouuld be awful.
The room was kept very clean and stocked well.
Family rooms are above a noisy bar and restaurant, loud music played past 11pm, requests made to be turned down due to small children not being able to get to sleep but not done so. Worst place to put a family.
Wife & I had a lovely stay at The Vine. We have stayed there before so we know what to expect and we were not disappointed. We will come again.
Warm, friendly and welcoming staff. Quiet location, good sized, clean and comfortable rooms
Somewhat limited menu - when travelling extensively hotel menus become a bit monotonous, whilst the food was very good there is no or limited daily specials to add that bit of variety
All the staff were pleasant and helpful. Rooms and food were excellent.
Couldn't shower the next morning! Spoke to receptionist and was told that the majority of the residents had all showered and they have water pressure problems due to being an old building!
Staff very friendly and helpful.
The room was lovely excellent decor and very comfortable, staff very welcoming and friendly didn't get to eat an evening meal as had a business meeting but breakfast was spot on will definitely use again!
We liked the bar and the staff.
busy at breakfast no around to tell you what to do. A bit dated decor.
The hotel is lovely staff very friendly. Food was excellent wanted to stay longer do could try it all.. A great find and we will be back.
Everything about it I loved .
The bath never worked When we check in the room was a mess and. It cleaned and the it took a long time to get somone to see it but when the cleaner came they where very nice and made it much better and cleaner
Great location, friendly staff and lovely room. An excellent overnight stay.
The noise from the smokers at the front door.
Quiet location, good food, friendly service
Rooms get rather warm
The quiet location of The Vine is not what you would expect so near to the centre of Skegness. It is the second time I have stayed here and would certainly stay again. The strange staircase and corridors did cause some amusement, but I wouldn't recommend for the less able guest.
Everything but the staff couldnt do enough for you and breakfast was amazing. Big thank you to Toni who served us and also to Sian on reception who was so helpful in ensuring we had a travel cot in the room and an ironing board ready for our late arrival. It was really appreciated.
Dodgy valve in shower of Room 6 meant water would be ok one minute then scolding hot the next and then normal for a little bit, then it would go freezing cold! Room 6 was noisy at night due to being above the restaurant and doorway. Next time i would ask for a different room. It is in the middle of a remodernisation but that didnt bother us.
Friendly staff, great food, a little bit away from the centre, plenty of car parking, spacious bathroom
People talking in corridors was a bit too intrusive
Lovely hotel with lots of potential. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the staff extremely friendly and helpful, and the food excellent.
Unfortunately, we had no cold water in the room whatsoever on the second morning. At breakfast we heard several others complaining of the same issue. On reading reviews on our return, it appears that this has been an issue for some time. Although apologetic at reception, there was little they could do to rectify the situation beyond an apology. Such a shame, as this tainted our view of the hotel somewhat. Additionally, the room was extremely warm (although a fan was provided), but leaving the window open resulted in many mosquito bites!
constant ventilation noise throughtout the night with just a flimsy apology when checking out
the luxury room we booked, the walk in to town, but I must say it was a 20 minute walk and not ten, and we are pretty fast walkers. A gentleman member of staff who asked if we would like to park our motorbike in the back which was lovely of him and the setting of the Hotel
eating in the pub instead of the restaurant, it was too noisy and we felt invaded by men on the next table who pulled chairs around to view women at the bar and were practically on our table, we felt uneasy
Very helpful and polite staff. Old but very comfortable rooms. Good breakfast and an excellent real ale bar.
Property would benefit from a fairly extensive refurbishment. Not that you would ever want to go but the property is a little way from the centre of Skegness.
It's situation just out of town The enclosed garden Left to your resources Size of room Pleasant receptionists Sense of permanence.
The strange menu selection The same soup for six consecutive meals and then it was very poor-- what our family would call bottom of the basket veg, The noisy toilet system Wouldn't send friends of my age good for reps. etc
