The host was very friendly and the location was wonderful!
Large, comfortable, warm room with a hand basin and my own bathroom, which had recently been fully renovated, just along the corridor.
Luckily I went to bed quite late as my room was above the bar. But at exactly 12am (it was a weekend) there was complete silence, so it didn't impact me personally - just be advised if you're an early sleeper! The breakfast is a little basic, but given the price, not really complaining.
Wonderful hotel with bags of warmth, and that not just from the welcoming open fire in the main bar. One site indian restaurant is also of particular note.
Nothing, all was fine
it was idea for our stay, good clean room, good breakfast, staff were friendly, lovely village.
Good value for money and very comfortable facilities.
Pub very noisy late at night.
Perfect setting, really nice people set in a fantastic village. Good price and good indian restaurant for the dinner Fantasti english breakfast
We were made very welcome by everyone.Brilliant pub atmosphere.everything was great.
Liked everything.Couldn't fault it.
Great location to travel the Cotswold
No traditional restaurant on site
Room no 5 clean and tidy, good size shower. Good breakfast.
Bed not too comfy. Noisy till about 12 pm but afterwards very quiet. We were staying at a pub so this not a complaint!
Stayed in room 1 in the back. Large room. Quiet, nice linens. good bed, great wifi connection. Very convenient for exploring the town on foot and surrounding Cotswold villages by auto. Parking nearby. A great "Proper" English Fry breakfast made to order.
Very clean, very convenient! Walk around quaint donwtown Woodstock. Two minutes to Blenheim Palace. A lovely place with a delicious breakfast. Highly recommended.
the accomodation was clean and well looked after and provided all the facilities I needed The breakfast was good and slickly provided
Liked the price, room was nice, and enjoyed the breakfast.
Walls are thin and could hear a man snoring in the room below us all night and a baby crying across the hall. Check in was a bit unorganized, as we had to do it in the bar at the same time as people ordering drinks.
Plug did not fit basin in bedroom "En suite" was not, it was across a corridor.
The door of shared bath is difficult to close .that made going to toilet is a thing of troublesome.
Located in a small but beautiful town. Big room with comfy bed very clean. Great pub with good ale. Welcoming staffs. Nice breakfast.
Location. So convenient to the Cotswolds. Right opposite the Church & within easy walk of the historic town centre.
Staff pleasant and room clean. Beautiful little village. Big breakfast was good also.
Pub was very noisy, after ten o'clock (then it was Saturday night).
Feeling like mideavel traveler!
We called by this hotel after travelling around Europe on our way home and they were just the ticket, relaxed and friendly, very helpful and room and facilities were everything we needed and more.Had read negative reviews about noise levels, but noise in room was very little until 11.00 then silent and if you can't tolerate any noise at all, don't stay in a pub!!!
Clean and service mind with bar and restaurant which is convenient.
Owner and staff were very helpful in getting us to the train station for an early train (before the bus was running).
Good location, nice curry, free upgrade !!!
Bit noisy in room over the bar.
The breakfast was great. The Indian food restaurant on site was amazing!
The light above the shower kept flicking on and off, if we turned on the radiator the hot water in the shower would slow to a trickle- not huge issues but irritating. Although not associated directly, the bike rentals offered out of the back of volunteer inn were sub par. Both of our bikes kept throwing the chain, my husband had to hold his rear derailer so the gear would stay, the brakes were unreliable and not responsive.
The volunteer Inn lies at the start of the Cotswold way which we were walking a section of. The landlord was very friendly and the breakfast was good. A very restful stay after a days travel. Thankyou.
