We had a lovely room. Bit small but comfortable. Kitted out with very good quality fittings and kept to a high standard of cleanliness. Brilliant location. Close to the city centre but quiet. Car park around the back. The welcome from the staff was very warm and friendly. The breakfast was excellent.
Quiet location with no pub noise from below. Great river view as well.
WiFi was out of range and it was expensive but welcoming staff and comfortable bed.
Lovely comfortable bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Professional staff, attentive service, excellent wine & food.
nice room, nice pub, good food
The hospitality was very good and the bedroom although small was very clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was lovely.
The food was ok but the bread and butter pudding was soggy and tasteless. The fried bread at breakfast was pale and greasy.
The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. We had dinner there which was very good. Breakfast the next morning was probably the best I've had in a B&B or hotel. The room was well furnished and very clean. It had tea and coffee making facilities and two bottles of mineral water.
I had a king size bed but it was too firm for my liking. The noise from other guests was disturbing during the night so that wasn't great. There is no allocated parking, I was lucky to get parked in front of the pub, if I hadn't it would of been a bit of a trek.
Poor parking Noisy band playing
Excellent customer service, great food and lovely views.
Double room was tiny - thank goodness it was only one person using the room. Bathroom ventilation too loud.
The friendliness of the staff, clean although small rooms but had everything you need, quality of the food first class, relaxed atmosphere. Near enough to the city to walk in. Had a river view which was great. Would definitely stay again.
Nothing - The Wagon & Horses have got it spot on.
Everything bar the lack of a secure car park
No car park
Location Service Food
Small bedroom and bathroom.
Good location to motorway and city centre Friendly staff Clean and modern Delicious plentiful breakfast
Small bedrooms but cosy
Nothing to complain about Staff were very helpful
Staff we're very welcoming and helpful. Nice rooms but very small
we found Paul and Carol who run the Wagon and Horses extremely accommodating nothing was to much trouble they suggested places to go handing out maps and instructions, The food was superb The staff were pleasant especially Mike and Duncan. Thanks to Paul and Carol and all The staff at The Wagon and horses for a really pleasant stay.
Great staff who showed a real interest in our travel plans and offered early breakfast. Wifi struggled a bit in the room but ok outside and in bar - room more than compensated for this though! Great food
We were made to feel welcome from the minute we arrived. We were going on a day trip on the Fellsman the next morning and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast on our second day was wonderful. We highly recommend this get away.
Being picky the internet connection was not the best. This seems mean to raise here as I didn't mention it at the time as was not a deal breaker, as I do remember life before the internet.
food, service, location
no phone in room no clear means of contacting help in the event of emergency in the night
Everything. Attention to detail in both the rooms and bar is obvious. Good location overlooking the river and fairly quiet. The people who work there were great and the breakfasts were unmissable.
The genuine welcome by all the staff. Nothing seemed too much trouble throughout our stay. Even a helping hand across the road on departure because of handicap. A truly memorable holiday. Excellent value for the money.
Can't think of anything
The room as small but nice with an ample tea tray. We had a view over the river Lune.
We paid for bed and breakfast and got bed and a cold snack. On arrival we were told that we could only check out at 8.00 on Saturday if we paid up the night before and let ourselves out of the fire door. There would be no Full English until 09.00. We were instead told that we would be given a "breakfast basket" which turned out to be a few mini boxes of cereal and a small flask of milk.
This is a lovely characterful place to stay, on the river Lune and right next to the Maritime Museum. Easy to walk into town. Our arrival was delayed by an incident on the M6 but the staff couldn't have been more kind and understanding.
food spot on
the Friday band, an acquired taste
Lovely rooms, clean, coffee/tea facilities, free wifi. Great breakfast and dining menu. Parking available.
Everything. Large bright clean room. Excellent meals. Good bar with top beers. Super hospitable staff. Even caters for disabled. (Suited us to have an elevator for our luggage.) Absolute revelation and RECOMMENDED.
