Shower very poor, the water system needs an overhaul and no help to get into the bath.

The staff are always absolutely excellent.

Quiet hotel in a picturesque setting within 20 minutes of Middlesbrough. Provided a good choice of meals enabling me to eat in the hotel in the evenings and a good cooked breakfast in the morning. Internet access in the rooms (not WiFi but WiFi access was available in the bar). Pleasant, helpful staff.

The corridors could do with better, brighter lighting as it has a dingy feel with the dim lighting. The room was a little dated and the carpet is showing signs of wear but overall the room was comfortable enough for my needs.

our stay was fabulous we cannot fault the hotel at all. highly recommended.

The room was large and roomy. Very clean, plenty of towels and hot water. The restaurant was nice although we only used it at break fast. We were out early and back late back. Plenty to do out and about in the area.

The food excellent, service in restaurant & bar good, the atmosphere in both good. Comfortable clean room with adequate facilities. Staff were helpful and pleasant. I will return to this hotel in the future.

Everything. The staff were welcoming and friendly and all in all good value for money. I will stay here again now and drop all the local Premier Inn in favour of this warm hotel

The hotel is in a lovely village setting and the staff are always extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms are beautifully set out , very clean and comfortable

Good food and beer

Price payed by using bookings .com was inflated, the couple that checked out prior to us had not booked but stayed due to bad weather and payed £24.00 less.

Excellent freindly staff, excellent room. Good choice of drinks, evening meal superb with large menu choice. Full breakfast also very good,nice relaxed overnight stay

As we were only staying one night we can´t really comment on the surrounding facilities however we can say that we had excellent service from all of the staff the room was extremely comfortable and our meals were very good.

The only negative comment was that the window catches were difficult to close and it wasn´t clear on the taps which were hot / cold.however these were minor inconviences and we are sure would have been sorted had we stayed longer.

This hotel offers a great Yorkshire welcome. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is great robust Yorkshire food, locally sourced. Excellent evening meal with some great pub classics but done with style, superbly cooked breakfast. Lovely breakfast waitress. We will definitely go there again for a night away from home in a friendly and warm atmosphere.

The radiator in our bedroom was cold when we arrived (in December) but this was very quickly rectified by the reception staff. My husband was dismayed not to be able to taste the wine at dinner. The young waitress just came and poured it out - but I think she was a trainee or extra help for Christmas.

Relaxing environment within a picturesque setting, restaurant was the winner for me! The food was beautiful and as there was 2 Christmas parties in the main function rooms the hotel kindly reserved a table for us in the beautiful country pub where we enjoyed a delicious meal in a romantic homely setting!

The temperature of the room was too hot and the bed was not very comfortable, pillows to bulky and the bed was too soft and too small for a comfortable night sleep.

The staff were very friendly and the food excellent. You must try the breakfast omelette its to die for.
