With a restaurant and bar, this privately owned hotel is on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, 15 minutes from Teesside and near the Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk. Beside the North Yorkshire Moors, Wainstones Hotel has comfortable bedrooms with private bathroom and an excellent range of facilities. Endeavours Restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere, while Pembrokes Bar mixes continental Bistro with traditional English village pub. The varied menus make use of the finest local produce. A wine list is served beside local real ales. Great Broughton is only 15 minutes from Teesside but is also well placed for visiting Yorkshires coasts, moors and dales including those areas famous for explorer Captain Cook, writer and vet James Herriot, and TV show Heartbeat. Hotel Rooms: 24, Hotel Chain: Recommended Hotels.

The close location to the Stokesley Business Park. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is good. The Hotel is quite dated and although clean and reasonably comfortable the rooms could do with re-decorating. I have stayed here on a number of occasions and stayed in different rooms and all of them need updating and all the chairs in all the rooms are wobbley. They all need a coat of paint and lighting etc needs updating.

Very welcoming and accomodating, despite it being one of their busiest times of the year. Nothing was too much trouble (late arrival, alterations to breakfast menu, etc.), and everywhere in the hotel was very comfortable and quiet, despite there being a lot of guests. Other people's comments about the showers are a little unfair. Yes, the water pressure is low as a result of being at a high level and with a local spring water supply. But the showers are modern, and water temperature is perfectly good, just not a power shower! But more than adequate. Nothing to complain about, or be critical about.

Decided to book the Wainstones, even though we had stayed there in 2009 and had found the standard of the room poor. However having read that there had been some refurbishment,we took the gamble! We were pleased to find that the room allocated to us had been refurbished, the standard was much improved, well done! We shall consider booking again next year when we make our annual trip to see ageing relatives! Having to walk outside, back to our room on a wild windy night to avoid the wedding party!!

We were attending a wedding reception and we couldn't hear the music from our room, which was good as we have a young child. The option to have an additional bed in the room for our son was helpful. The special room rate for wedding guests was the same as the standard room rate! The room rate seemed expensive.

The Wainstones provides a good combination of a country pub with good quality accommodation. In addition there is a restaurant which serves excellent quality food and wines. And the breakfast is excellent.

The location is marvellous in the lea of the Cleveland Hills with good walking all around. The hotel is on the edge of the village with a large car park in front. The room was basic but clean and comfortable with satellite tv. Pembrokes Bar featured a beer from a local brewery in Stokesley. The breakfast was served to the table freshly cooked not left out under food warmers. Staff were friendly and efficient. There was some noise from the room above early in the morning. The bathroom was somewhat old-fashioned.

The staff made the different during my visit. Very friendly and incredibly helpful, they couldn't do enough for you. As a business traveller staying for 3 nights I felt £15 was a little excessive for internet access in the room and also most hotels offer free WiFi in the bar area, but being charged £3 for an hour seemed rather unfair. It meant that unless I was willing to pay £15 for the stay and sit in my room every night I was unable to get much work done. However I understand that you do have to make some money.

The staff were very friendly and nice. The hotel is in short, shabby. The mattress must have been there since 1979 as there were no springs left. The bathroom doesn't even have proper flooring (some poor substitute lino thing). In need of major refurbishment. The whole thing felt cheap. It is a hostel standard for the price of a proper hotel! Really poor breakfast as well.

The owners and all the staff were very obliging and pleasant. We got a four- poster bed! and an excellent rate. The food in the pub was excellent in the evening and the fresh fruit salad at breakfast was excellent. The shower was too weak.

The only fault that I could find was that the shower was very weak - but this is just a minor issue.
