Excellent choice for our two night stay in Hawkshead. Lovely old house in peaceful location less than five minutes walk across a field and through the churchyard to the centre of Hawkshead. We were made to feel very welcome by Sue and Richard. Our room was clean and spacious with a wonderfully comfortable four poster bed and luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding. Excellent breakfasts with an extensive choice including eggs from Sue's own hens. We will be back!

I appreciated being e mailed by Sue a week or so before arriving so that any questions could be dealt with at that point. That efficiency and care continued with a warm welcome when we arrived and then throughout our stay. We found Walker Ground to be excellent in every way with very high levels of comfort.

Owners are very considerate and friendly. They prepared plates and cutlery for us when they noticed we ate our meal in a room without asking. We enjoyed delicious breakfast, beautiful way to the house, a clean spacious room and bath room with quite peaceful atmosphere.

Very spacious room and bathroom. Separate bath and shower, bathrobes; nice touch. Lovely view from the bathroom across the fields. Room large and furnished with antiques and a large bed which was very nice. Great breakfast with lovely specials. Nice stroll to the village.

Nothing really, it is a lovely place and good value for money. Breakfast is shared with other guests at one large table, so if you are not into morning conversation with strangers, you might want to think again. I actually enjoyed it very much.

Richard and Sue treated us as friends. We loved the quite settings - birds and lambs and a babbling stream. Great bed and a delicious breakfast and plenty to do. Perfect! Thanks Richard and Sue.

Extremely narrow lane/access to property. Breakfast seating. One long table seated with other guests felt very uncomfortable.
