Our room looked lovely - quite unique. The setting of the hotel is perfect and the grounds and house are lovely. We enjoyed the breakfast and bright breakfast room.

Lack of wiFi/ internet connection in our room came as a shock. We were not aware of this until we arrived. The shower had virtually no pressure at all.

1 member of staff, meal was too expensive for what it was, rooms are a bit overpriced for what they are

    Friendly Staff

Didnt feel that the room lived up to the "Executive" level we booked and paid for. Evening meal on Thursday night was expensive, although the food was great. Some of the equipment (Sauna) in the spa area was out of action with no notices or explanation.

Excellent dinner which was a very pleasant surprise

Outdated shower. Room over lounge which was very noisy as we had an early start. Our room was a discounted £365 for which we paid £95. No way was it worth £365.

we liked the old charm and the relaxed atmosphere that you get with a small hotel. the room was lovely.

there wasnt anything we didnt like, possibly the waiting staff could have been a bit more observant when it came to ordering. Also quite expensive for what you got.

It felt like being a guest in a country house rather than a hotel. The atmosphere was relaxed and the food exceptionally good

Our room was in a converted stable. It was damp and not aired

we have been before and the look of the hotel is good. the staff are very friendly

unfortunately the bathroom was lovely but it wasn't as clean as we would of expected. There were cobwebs which in a lovely hotel like this isn't acceptable.

Location for Calais ferry was excellent, but you still felt like you were on holiday in the country. Fabulous room and really helpful staff. Breakfast great.

Nice grounds and lovely old building

-No wifi connection in the chalets- ridiculous in this day and age and unbefitting a supposedly 4 star resort. -Very hot room, yes it was summer and a hot day but temperature was ridiculous; at the price charged air con should have been installed and working full blast -The price; overpriced for what it was. Apparently trading on the reputation of the chef- whoodef@#k- I ate at the local pub and suspect I got the better deal.

Breakfast - lovely service and nicely cooked fresh food. Scrambled eggs were a delight: golden and cooked to perfection. (Not white, watery and sloppy!) Location in countryside was easily accessible by road to towns and places of interest. Interesting and unspoiled property to stay in. My partner used the well maintained swimming pool and enjoyed the view through the windows to the fields outside. It was all generally quiet and peaceful and a rather lovely place to wander around. A different small hotel with excellent road access to Dover and anywhere along the East Kent coast. We easily did the whole trip around the coast and up to Whitstable and back via Canterbury in a short day. Then watched the ferries in Dover harbour in the evening sunshine. Wonderful.

Room was basic and somewhat dark, with very small bathroom which had very little space to park your washing paraphernalia. The view from the bedroom window was the hotel itself. On one night/early morning - 5.00am - the family staying in the same barn were a bit noisy. But this is always a bit of a lottery so you can't blame the hotel.
