Overall atmosphere and location good. Staff friendly and helpful.
Rooms in the stable accommodation rather ordinary and a bit dark food fairly average considering its reputation. Very limited menu.
Lovely peaceful location in the countryside and very close to lots of places of interest. Staff were very welcoming and helpful and the food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was delicious. Delightful rooms all very different and full of charm and character We throughly enjoyed our stay.
Nice location and great breakfast!
The shower was awful. I got the hotel room on a deal but at full price this wouldn't be worth it.
Refuse collection at 6.50am laundry delivery at 7:30am Very noisy room
The hotel has multiple options available as far as accommodation is concerned - 4 poster bed to hut or tippy we felt immediately at home due to friendliness
Child restrictions in terms of accessing the spa
The hotel was brilliant and the spa was just lovely.
Breakfast, wasn't very tasty and the coffee was awful. Real shame as everything else was fantastic
Everything perfect....loved it apart from the noisy room upstairs, defo going back there.
Noisy people upstairs who didnt let us sleepat least until 2 am.
Facilities Breakfast Gym Spa Staff Friendliness
food good, staff capable and sorted any issues. Nice small spa and facilities for tennis and petanque, etc
felt quite run down and dated in rooms, especially bathroom. Didn't match pictures online.
Our room looked lovely - quite unique. The setting of the hotel is perfect and the grounds and house are lovely. We enjoyed the breakfast and bright breakfast room.
Lack of wiFi/ internet connection in our room came as a shock. We were not aware of this until we arrived. The shower had virtually no pressure at all.
Rooms, food, most staff
1 member of staff, meal was too expensive for what it was, rooms are a bit overpriced for what they are
Didnt feel that the room lived up to the "Executive" level we booked and paid for. Evening meal on Thursday night was expensive, although the food was great. Some of the equipment (Sauna) in the spa area was out of action with no notices or explanation.
Beautiful Jacobean Manor House, stunning décor. Helpful, friendly staff, excellent food. Beautiful four poster bed, we stayed in room 4.
Excellent dinner which was a very pleasant surprise
Outdated shower. Room over lounge which was very noisy as we had an early start. Our room was a discounted £365 for which we paid £95. No way was it worth £365.
we liked the old charm and the relaxed atmosphere that you get with a small hotel. the room was lovely.
there wasnt anything we didnt like, possibly the waiting staff could have been a bit more observant when it came to ordering. Also quite expensive for what you got.
We booked late , and was called the following day to be told we had the last room and it was to be a twin , on arrival we was shown to the twin to be offered an up grade . Perfect
Having to leave ! And not staying longer .
It felt like being a guest in a country house rather than a hotel. The atmosphere was relaxed and the food exceptionally good
Our room was in a converted stable. It was damp and not aired
Setting, architecture and great restaurant
Well manitained grounds, very good spa and pool, pleasantly decorated room with space and good furnishings
Lovely location and I was fortunate to be upgraded for free. The staff were really nice and helpful. The breakfast was really nice.
The room was dusty in places.
Very friendly lovely location
The restaurant and bar and location
The Bathroom. I expect much more than this poor offering and facility for the price
excellent service, good food, friendly staff, excellent location
we have been before and the look of the hotel is good. the staff are very friendly
unfortunately the bathroom was lovely but it wasn't as clean as we would of expected. There were cobwebs which in a lovely hotel like this isn't acceptable.
Location for Calais ferry was excellent, but you still felt like you were on holiday in the country. Fabulous room and really helpful staff. Breakfast great.
