It’s location is excellent and the secure car park was just what we needed. The room and bed were comfortable. We were only there overnight as we were attending a party held elsewhere

An independent, family-run hotel in an extended Victorian home, with many impressive original features. Close to Carlisle city centre and the M6 motorway.

This is a hotel undergoing restoration and we knew before booking We liked that our spotlessly clean room had a very comfy bed, a not fancy but clean bathroom, nice bed linen and good towels, plus toiletries. Our corridor had a lovely new red carpet, and our room was recently carpeted, too
There was ample parking, a warm welcome and good tasty breakfast. We also liked the retained old features of the property. It was excellent value
We liked having a bar in the evening and we
were served very pleasantly
In the heart of the city centre, this elegant Victorian hotel offers stylish rooms with 32-inch Freeview flat-screen TVs and free WiFi. Carlisle Train Station is next to this property.

Can't fault the location, ideal for trips into Scotland and across Cumbria. Room had everything I needed and very nice to have a bath rather than the usual shower at the pricepoint.
Nestled amid acres of private woodland and glorious gardens, this magnificent Grade II listed castle is situated on the northern edge of the Lake District, surrounded by a golf club.

Great personal service from the staff - I was arriving late and the duty manager phoned me to check if I was wanting food on arrival. Nice selection of drinks at the bar and Jacuzzi in room just what was needed after a long drive. Breakfast choice and service was also excellent.

Quite an underrated town. The castle and cathedral are very interesting, plenty of history to see. I like it most because you can quite easily travel to fantastic locations from all directions; Hadrian's wall & Newcastle to the East, Ribblehead & the Lake district to the South, the scenic Cumbrian coast to the West & the Historic Southern lowlands of Scotland to the North!

Carlisle is so full of history I love the buildings eg the Cathedral, the Castle, the Citadel which is going to transformed into a university campus. The little streets are very interesting could have spent more time exploring.

Convenience as a base to visit more of Cumbria.
Convenience as a base to visit more of Cumbria. If like me you don't drive its good to have a base with plenty of public transport to enable you to see a variety of places. Carlisle itself is easy to walk round, everything within walking distance.

I was only there for a quick one-night stop. The weather was so bad in the evening that I did not venture far, but I found a decent fish-and-chip shop.
Got up early in the morning and went for a walk. I did like the city centre area, and especially the historic area.

The city centre is ok, it does have some lovely old pubs away from the two Wetherspoons, however you have to go looking for them down some of the side street (try around the church in the city centre and behind the shops for a few). Some nice restaurants apparently but we didn't try them. Outside of the centre nice parks.
The flat is a 15-20 walk from the Carlisle train station but took a cab since we had luggage. The flat itself was very nice and comfortable. It had a nice kitchen, the living room was a good size and the bedrooms had comfy beds and the rooms themselves were very roomy. There is a Sainsbury 5 minutes away which was convenient and the castle was a 10 minute walk. Overall, i would highly recommend this property and would stay here again if I'm ever in Carlisle.
The Cumbria Park is a very comfortable hotel. There is a large, free car park for residents. A pleasing room and good breakfast. We also enjoyed a good evening meal (the Fells steak pie is really good with lots of fresh vegetables). Leaving the car in the car park, it is easy to catch a bus into Carlisle or a 15/20 minute walk.
The hotel is situated on the edge of the site of a large 1900 year old Roman Fort. This gives the hotel extra interest.
The hotel was located in a nice quiet location. There was a dog bed and dog biscuits out when we arrived in hotel room, thought that was a nice touch. Friendly helpful staff. Very nice food and drinks served here. Within a trendy dining area. Great to bring your dogs here too, with nice walks in the area and would like to of used the train into Carlisle but unfortunately, there were no trains running!
My go to place in Carlisle. I like to support local businesses rather than the chain hotels where possible. Always clean and never had any problems. Had an ensuite room which was good. Always good value. Close to city centre and on a quiet street with two pubs round the corner, but never had any external noise disturbance even with the windows open. Free WiFi in room.
Cheap and cheerful, I had a single room . Nice and clean bedding, obviously the place is dated but clean that all I need and some free biscuits. Stayed at lot more expensive hotels ( no biscuits there ) and some free shampoo etc . lady on reception was very nice at the cheek in .
Watch for your sat nav putting you into the premier inn over the road. Mine did .
The hotel is very close to the M6, A69 junction near Carlisle and is perfect for a stop over. The hotel is comfortable and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed on our way up for a holiday in Scotland and liked the hotel so much we did the same on our way back. Highly recommended.
The hotel was very well situated , many good restaurants close by. The train station a very easy walk if wanting to do the Settle Carlisle journey. Parking was very convenient at the back of our appartment, which was very clean and well equipped for any self catering one would want to do.
The location of the hotel is very good, as it's in Carlisle City Centre, and also only a few minutes away from a large supermarket. There was also a very nice breakfast included in the price as well, which meant that the room was very good value for money.
It was my first time at this hotel and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room with large, clean and warm with a lovely comfortable bed.
My two dogs and myself were made very welcome.
I will be delighted to stay here again the next time I'm in Carlisle
Great location right in the centre of Carlisle. We broke the journey back from Scotland here.
Free and relatively secure parking at the back of the hotel.
Big room.
Good value for three people including breakfast
The Victorian era building still has its values. Its basic for the needs of an over night stay. Staff supportive and friendly. I would book again for a night stop in Carlisle. Bar in the louge is a bonus
clean , good location 5 minutes from train station. lots to do in Carlisle and the surrounding areas. lakes , cannot believe the hotel rates on my booking is only 7.7 should be higher.
