Steve could not do enough for us, we really appreciated his efforts. Breakfast was deliciously cooked!
Very friendly welcome, well stocked larder, all facilities very good
Would have like a shower
Like other reviewers,we agree that there is nothing to dislike about the Walnut Country House. We loved the spacious,if quirky Newmarket Suite. So comfortable and peaceful with all facilities and thoughtful touches like the well stocked fridge, breakfast provisions and bathroom spa products. The mini bar was a real treat and having breakfast in your room was a luxury to be enjoyed. The cooked breakfast was excellent. It was great talking to Steve about racing and horses.Thank you for the warm and extremely helpful welcome as well as the recommendations for eating out and in! Thank you for a great stay.
Accommodation was lovely, with friendly and helpful staff and a lovely breakfast.
The only slight disadvantage was a very steep step from living room to bedroom. A sink in the kitchenette would be useful as well.
Steve's hospitality and the big breakfast.
The room was like something from the 1920s....very old and worn out,,,,perhaps we booked too late and got the worst room at this so called country house....more a house in the country though!
The Walnuts was absolutely perfect. A beautiful clean cottage with everything you need (including a goody tray on arrival). The hot tub is a luxury for any time of day but especially for star gazing once night falls. Idyllic for anyone seeking a retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life...
A very quiet and relaxing place to stay. The privacy was a big plus for us.
We were upgraded to a suite at no extra cost. The welcome was very warm and friendly, the accommodation clean and the breakfast was excellent.
Very friendly and helpful owners. Excellent breakfast.
This property was a lot more rustic than we were expecting. WiFi was not working.
Great welcome by staff. Access to fridge and availability of fruit, water, tea etc
Carpets stained Decor and furniture tired Toilet did not flush properly Overpriced
The owners were friendly and couldn't do enough to make you feel at home.
Very warm welcome and the room was quaint. I like the unusual set up where they bring a Very nice breakfast to your room. The room also has a fridge and microwave and supplied with cereals, bread, butter, jams, milk, tea and coffees, and also some beer and cider. WiFi we couldn't get to work but wasn't of any real concern. Lovely place and would recommend
Maybe a bit far to walk for anything bit that is being picky.
a very well looked after, maintained house. The owner very welcoming. Very good warm breakfast to the room, coffee, tea machine, fridge, bathrobes...
The place was a wonderful country setting, near to an airbase which I had an interest in. The room was lovely with a view over fields and a couple of horses. It was a room with a history, probably about 300 years old, with a brass double bed, table and 2 chairs, settee and TV. A separate bathroom was specifically for our usage. The room had a walk in wardrobe and a little room off it containing a small fridge, microwave, kettle with shelves holdings cups, plates, cutlery and plenty things to eat or drink (ie bread and butter, a good selection of fresh fruit, jams, marmalade, cereal packets, milk, fruit juice, various individual tea packets and coffee sachets. bread, butter and biscuits and my dietary requirements helpfully catered for). The small town of Mildenhall was close enough to pick up pretty much whatever we needed. We arrived quite late in the evening, but the staff were very helpful welcoming and interested to help with what ever we needed. I would definitely like to stay there again. We enjoyed the locality with its charming small villages and the almost flat rural outlook. Loads of good pubs and places of interest nearby. Restful and relaxing throughout, and the staff were thoughtful and considerate and willing to be of help wherever and when ever needed.
Attentive and welcoming staff, lovely place to stay excellent breakfast. Fantastic experience can't wait to go back.
Mildenhall town, only 5 minutes drive away from Walnuts, had a great selection of restaurants. Also, the village West Row that Walnuts is in had a fantastic takeaway that does superb pizzas. Highly recommend.
There wasn't anything not to like. Only extra that would be helpful, would be a hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang the dressing gown.
steve and diane the hosts were great,a couple beers in the fridge really good breakfeast very helpfull had a great stay
We loved it. Really beautiful
The complimentary items in the fridge etc. this was a nice touch. Very friendly and accommodating hosts.
Separate bathroom but this may have been explained when I booked - I hadn't noticed. Somewhere to put things down in the bathroom and robe hooks would be helpful.
Warm welcome, owners delightful. In the middle of nowhere but handy for touring the local area. Great breakfast served in room.
Not much really. Bed a bit bouncy for us old folks. No bottle opener. Not sure about eating in the room - just felt a bit anti social.
quiet , good breakfast , friendly folk with good local knowledge.
Quite hard to find
Location, welcome and helpfulness of Steve the proprietor, facilities and breakfast
Nothing - recommend the Walnuts for a very reasonable and enjoyable stay
Everything- especially the hot tub and the friendliness and helpfulness of Diane and Steve.
The rooms are lovely, (the pictures on here simply do not do them justice) the owners couldn't be nicer or more helpful! Amazing breakfast and a beautiful quiet location just a few minutes walk from a lovely pub and restaurant by the river! we will 100% be going back soon.
my grand daughter is already for another weekend with the Jacuzzi next time
nothing all was good
