The warm and friendly staff, so eager to help.
A very accommodating and welcoming hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful!!
The wifi was shockingly bad. Kept dropping out, clashes with other networks?! Couldn't solve it.
Helpful staff . Comfortable room.good breakfast .
I didn't see a lift.ok if you can climb stairs .Cold plates at breakfast .Never had this anywhere else.member of staff suggested we eat quicker!was not amused.
We stayed to be near family, have stayed before friendly staff and welcoming, Good service breakfast fresh well cooked.
We stayed here on a Sunday evening, when there were very few other guests. The staff were very attentive and had a great approach. Our room was spacious, having a sofa and plenty of space to move around and for bags.
The bar was closed
Very good food great bar clean and comfortable room
friendly helpfull staff lovely breakfast and room
Staff fantastic very friendly, Rooms spacious and comfortable and spotlessly clean.Bed very comfortable. . Food was brilliant good breakfast with choices and carnival supper before parade excellent idea and again very good quality. Bus driver entertaining and very friendly and helpful. Fantastic weekend break can,t praise it enough.Already recommended to lots of friends. Keep up the good work.
Staff let us in the room early as we needed to get changed for a wedding. Breakfast was excellent. Room much larger than average
Wifi was no good (we were in room 22 and it did not work). Decor a bit tired (not keen on pink bathroom!). Heating a bit quirky - radiator in bathroom boiling yet in the bedroom it was cold.
Excellent car park, very well lit. Friendly staff. Very helpful.
We stayed at the Walnut Tree for three nights whilst attending a weekend wedding nearby utilizing the last day and night particularly as a rest-over to recover from the special event. It proved perfect, the room was superbly comfortable and quiet. The facilities are first class with a fine ambiance starting at the time you enter the hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful in organising our very late taxis for the wedding and generally ensuring we were transported on time into the depths of the countryside. The decor and furnishings including a very fine lounge might be expected of much higher star hotels and the bar and restaurants afford an ambiance of excellent comfort and quality. Insofar as is possible all the very skilled staff are from the Taunton area and provide that very special Somerset qualities of fine, friendly service. Much of the food is locally sourced from nearby Pyne's of Somerset, traditional butchers and purveyors of fresh food, voted number one in the UK for such produce. Give it try, you won't be disappointed.
Very friendly staff who take a genuine interest in making your stay a pleasant one. Quality of food is excellent for the type of hotel. There are some gems on the wine list (thank you Ian) and they will even open the red in advance of your arrival! What's not to like?
We have stayed (and dined) over many years and the only negative is that the bathrooms are somewhat dated.
The weather was lovely for September . . . .
Everything, particularly the unhelpful staff. The place had no atmosphere and the rooms are seriously in need of modernising.
Spacious, quiet, comfortable, attractive room, ample parking, relaxed public areas, friendly staff and impressive food with a range of choices.
The breakfast was good.
The decor was like an old peoples home
staff friendly and polite good breakfast
the decor was shocking very very dated blue and yellow everywhere the bathroom suite was blue 80s again flies in our room nice!! a lot of money too actually had sheets and blankets
We were warmly welcomed during a quick and efficient check in. The room was comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was excellent and served by a really nice pleasant lady.
Restaurent adjoining. Ample parking.
No soap or shower cap.Room a bit musty.
comfort, service, food, spacious room
I thought £11.00 was a bit steep for breakfast, that said the breakfast menu was quite extensive in the way of choice. If a café was available in the village open at that time and became known or its whereabouts passed on by previous guests to present ones, an exodus to such a location could be predicted/expected
Staff made you feel welcome Great food comfortable room
decor dated but clean and tidy, did not put us off hotel
*Excellent location with ample off-road parking. *Central to many venues in Somerset. *Very friendly and courteous staff. *This charming hotel blends the historic with contemporary appointments and styling. * The parish church view across the street was stunning!
Our room was very spacious, as was the bathroom. We played pool and used the lounge to play some more games which was fun. Overall had a decent stay.
Had some slight problems with the water temperature in the shower. We didn't purchase breakfast because it was expensive.
poor service overall
Good location Parking
