The Walton Hotel is in a stunning situation set in a country estate with great lawns, lakes, woods and sheep and lambs all around. It is also in easy reach of Stratford on Avon which suited us as we wanted to combine a short business meeting with a play at the rsc. The place was more up- market than we had intended but there was a special offer on for two of the four rooms so that made it more possible and we did not regret the choice. Breakfast range was extensive and superb. The Orange tree bar provided good meals at a reasonable price.Pool and sauna were appreciated as also the quietness of the surroundings and walks. I, and as I found next morning, my companions also, am used to sleeping with the window open. There was no possibility of opening the bedroom windows at this hotel - in fact the architectural design (triangular windows) did not allow for that. Air conditioning available but noise of motor, though low in noise, was not conducive to sleep.

A beautiful location, away from noisy towns and traffic.Lovely grounds to walk round and relax. The only thing I didn't like was that our hotel room was in a separate building from the bar and dining room...which meant we got wet walking from our bedroom to breakfast one morning.

The rooms were spacious and very clean. I travelled with my husband and maturing parents - I asked for a disabled facilities and was accommodated with no problems. Staff were always willing to help. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Leisure facilities were good We stayed in the Hotel and not the Hall so there was not a lounge to sit in, only a bar which was very busy with business clients from the 8 functions rooms on site. The Hall lounge was too far for my father to walk.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and the bathroom in particular was lovely. We enjoyed using the spa facilities and the staff on duty here, were notably friendly and greeted us with a smile. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice.

Excellent service throughout the Hotel. Fod quality was to a high standard. Only complaint, very tired leisure complex, shabby decor, not clean at all in the shower areas and no availability for spa treatments, however I do realise It was a busy weekend and prior booking would have made sense. I would only wish to return if the leisure and pool facilites were updated to the standard expected of a 4 star establishment.

Hotel food very good and reasonably priced. The only downside was that our bed was 2 singles put together which should've been zipped together to make a double or kingsized bed. The tv only had a few channels and no subtitles on all channels available which as my husband is deaf found it a struggle to listen to the tv when it was low volume. Also you can do fishing there but is not advertised on their official website.

Staff were not helpful at all. Been staying there 4 nights a week for the last few weeks and they couldn't even provide an extention to my room for a few hours. One person was saying its going to cost 10 pounds an hour the other 20 pounds an hour. We book abouts 5 rooms a week for business and would be for the next 3 weeks, but will have to think twice.

Beautiful setting, lovely countryside, easy parking. Clean, nice deco, friendly staff, good breakfast. Easy to arrange extras like flowers and bookings. Treatments in Spa were good with a relaxation room. However booking hours were limited. Near to Stratford on Avon and National Trust properties. there was no free internet access or wifi in rooms. The telephone and TV signal from the hotel was bad. The restaurant menu and food not good. The bar menu was better but there was a loud TV screen with football there which was off putting. There was a very nice, award winning pub with excellent food near by at Loxley 'The Fox'.

Lovely location, generous sized room. Lots of outdoor space to enjoy. Good indoor pool. Breakfast was excellent but I was very glad it was included in my "deal" as the bar and restuarant appeared overpriced. Bar expensive. Food generally overpriced. I had a smoked salmon salad which cost £12.50 and basically consisted of mixed leaves and a couple of strips of salmon on top.

We were very impressed with the quality of all the fixtures and fittings in the room. The size of the room and the bathroom were both excellent. The shower was very good and powerful and there was ample storage in the bathroom. We are frequent travellers and this was the best hotel we have stayed at recently. It was excellent value for money and the surroundings were beautiful. We would love to be able to afford to stay at the Hall at some point, but we are hoping to come back very shortly. The only thing we found disappointing was the Swimming pool area. The pool was very shallow and sloping at the sides. My partner has mobility problems and found it difficult to stand up round the sides in the pool. Also a Jacuzzi would be a a very good addition to the area.

The room was comfortable although it appeared that we were switched rooms(39 to 41) for no reason that was given. Breakfast was very good.We were only overnighting so are not able to give opinions on any other facilities in the Hotel However, we do intend saying again this time for a longer period. We had a problem, on arrival, in that the Hotel Reception had been moved to the main house, on the previous day, with only a small notice stuck on the door to inform guests arriving. This was after taking our luggage and hanger clothing out of the car. . .From the Coachhouse it was walk to get to the Main Hall for breakfast, but not too far.

“We enjoyed a warm welcome from the very friendly staff ,which always adds to your stay. The building was wonderful, just the right mix of old and new ! The late afternoon meal of ,fish and chips was good but the ;"Full English Breakfast" really did it for me.The location was perfect and so atmospheric too;also near to so many places to visit.Sadly we were not able to stay more than one night but we do plan to arrange another visit to ,Old Mill Inn.” John, Stoke-on- |
