The view and surroundings. The bar menu is very limited and expensive. The food quality and portions are not very consistent. Can you ask guests to close doors quietly or put something on the doors so that they close quietly.

We're from Australia and This is our second visit to the Walton. We drove straight from Heathrow and it was worth the 90 minute drive to feel like royalty. We love the spacious grounds and the wonderful breakfast they serve.

Everything was superb. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was great with the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. The breakfast choice was amazing. Nothing negative to say.

The room was clean and comfortable with all thats required from a for star hotel. Booking in, with the booking confirmation in front of them they still were confused and it took too long to find our booking details - not a 4* performance to start with. Booking table for dinner, nothing available until 21.00hrs, we ask if we could dine earlier but after checking there was nothing available - when we went for pre-dinner drinks we noticed that restaruant had plenty of tables to spare and easily got a table at 20;00hrs thanks to the Maitre'D - who could not understand why there was a problem. The meal was most disapointing the main course (fish) was miniscule and lacking taste, the dessert was not cooked properly - just not good enough and not value for money. Finally the morning paper that was ordered did not arrive - this hotel, based on the above, should not be entitled to its 4 star rating.

I liked the decor throughout the hotel and Hall. The staff were very helpful. I thought that the choice of Tetley tea bags in the rooms was rather cheap and not very tasty. The swimming pool area needed some repairs and sprucing up.

It was very conveniently located for the wedding reception that we attended just 2 miles away and the hotel was perfectly reasonable without being anything particularly special or notable. I wasn't keen that the radiator was set to minimum when we first entered the room; I only spotted that I could change it in the morning after a slightly chilly night. Everything was just very average and typical; there was really nothing notable about the hotel.

It was a peaceful location Spa facilities were very dirty and staff unfriendly. Reception staff were unfriendly and not approachable. There was little information regarding the area such as; shopping, places to visit etc; We were not aware that we would be in an outside building and would need to go out to reach the main hotel for meals and the spa facilities.

Set in beautiful countryside surroundings. The staff were very pleasant but not knowledgeable. The swimming pool was so hot is was more like a jaquzzi & when swimming be careful not to bang knees on bottom in one part of shallow end. I love steam rooms & it wasnt working. No water bucket for the sauna. Changing rooms too hot & no temperature control for the shower, just one temperature HOT! Too hot for a child!! The food was terrible in the orangery. The tv was on all evening in the bar, with no one watching & most just wanting a bit of background music. Also drinks were expensive, which would be more acceptable if it had been worth the stay. It wasn't. I won't be returning.

Very relaxing and clean. Connection from room to main hotel. Not good when it is heavily raining. Umbrellas at the main door would have be a suggestion I would make.

Comfortable rooms, great breakfast buffet, good location for us, pleasant surroundings, reasonable leisure suite - pool, sauna, steam room. Bar area not very pleasant and very expensive. Hotel split into multiple buildings which don't interconnect - fine, as long as it's not raining.
