Reasonably comfortable and we were warm even though the weather turned very cold The evening meal was excellent but for a mature couple like us it was too much too late

An old but updated hotel with plenty of character. The staff were very welcoming the room was spacious and a good breakfast was had. After staying at the Walton Hotel I drove home to find a message on my ansaphone from the Hotel saying that as there was a party that night we will be happy to move you to a quiter room - I had asked for a quiet room when booking. Checking in - nothing was said - why not? Checking out I mentioned the room was cold and wind was whistling through the window. The receptionist said 'That's the trouble with old buildings'. The room had been fitted with new double glazing! I was dissapointed on 2 counts (1) no mention at checkin re noise, (2) no further discusionns re the cold room. Let's say that I will not be visiting Walton Hotel again.

The location is fantactic. Pity I was only really there during the hours of darkness. It is a bit dated. Fine for odd nights but I wouldn't stay there a long time. Also limited room service which as a woman on her own I tend to use.

Very nice room, clean and spacious Comparing to the nice room, the rest of the hotel looked bit old, refreshement would do, also the china in restaurant very used. Breakfast was good, but dinner could be a lot better for the price you pay.

A warm welcome from staff. Nicely appointed building with very grand looking entrance. Decent breakfast. All staff from the night porter to the breakfast waitress were very professional and helpful. The bar was closed during the afternoon so there was nowhere to sit and chat with friends - though staff very helfully said that we could use a function room, it was already laid out for a function and we felt like trespassers.

An excellent hotel in terms of comfort and welcome. The hotel, although a little dated, was steeped in character and old world opulance. Situated at the top of a hill with magnificent Victorian buildings and a wonderful view over the Severn Estuary. The food was excellent and very good value. A must for a stopover when travelling South to Devon from the North. Would definitely stay in this hotel again - superb.

The staff were excellent, very courteous and welcoming. They could not do enough for us and even made our little dog feel "one of the family". It was also in a lovely location overlooking the Bristol Channel.
