Friendly staff, good wifi
The hotel is run down and under slow renovation.
We booked a kingside double, generous room and bathroom was modern and clean. Also on the quiet side so we weeny disturbed at all!
massive comfortable bed fantastic evening meal very good breakfast interesting decor
wifi was hit and miss in my room
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The rooms are shabby . Beakfast was only fair if one didn't want a cooks breakfast . The butter was very salty. The bread was uncovered and gone hard . No marmalade only honey or jam.
The bar and christmas decorations. Good breakfast and v pleasant dining area.
Room a bit small.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. We appreciated in particular the flexibility in seating us for an excellent celebration dinner.
Room was small but spotless and comfortable Lounge rooms and restaurant were beautiful Breakfast was super in quality and service
I liked it all
The Walton is a marvellous old hunting lodge that retains grand style while exuding warm homeliness. We visited in the run up to Christmas when the whole place was beautifully decked with imaginative seasonal decorations. The food is excellent. The bar is wonderful, with real fires.
The apartement was very good and we enjoyed nice food at night and for breakfast
Friendly helpful staff. Great breakfast. Excellent location.
The Walton was first class in every respect from the staff, through to the food.
lovely comfortable beds and nice warm room.all you could want for breakfast. The best thing for me was the way it was decorated for xmas lovely fires and xmas trees.
nothing to dislike
Staff were exceptional and a credit to the hotel. The cooked breakfast was cooked fresh to order and was very good. We also ate in the bar and this too was to a good standard. Our bill was also adjusted to take into account that the heating was not working in our room. The city centre is only a 10 - 15 min walk from the hotel.
Hotel is currently undergoing a refurbishment and the heating was not working in our room, however, the duty manager did all he could for us and as it couldn't be sorted, he brought up a couple of heaters for us to use.
Quiet "apartment" room (i.e. in annexe), recently refurbished, overlooking garden. Nice walk through Park area on way into Nottingham centre. Helpful staff. High quality towels and gowns. Good breakfast.
Hollow-fibre duvet. Room was small for the money and bathroom was very small. Dining room quite dark, with heavy old-fashioned furniture.
Everything. Breakfast was outstanding. Staff was very nice but not over the top.
Just returned home from a long weekend stay at The Walton. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food was excellent and Vito and his restaurant staff were attentive, friendly and professional. The hotel has a warm cosy feeling about it and is being sympathetically refurbished. Look forward to returning when it's been completed and would recommend it to anyone.
The bar and restaurant were very welcoming. Wonderful choice at breakfast.
The bedroom was too warm and a little noisy. However they are doing improvements so hopefully this will rectified in the future.
Fairly modern room, great decor, close to everything. Very popular, it was packed when we arrived but still managed to squeeze our way to the bar to order some refreshments
The car park was a bit tight
stuffy room, car park view, offered morning newspaper and then charged extra for it. Break fast very average. Hot breakfast was actually cold!
Decoration of reception rooms downstairs very stylish
Loo seat was cracked
Friendly hotel receptionists who were very helpful. Lovely room with comfortable bed. The food in the restaurant for breakfast was good. You have to order it instead of just being a hot buffet, but food was good quality, piping hot and service was good. As always it is good to have a hotel in Nottingham that has its own car park. It is a 15 minute walk into the city centre. We will definitely go back but just use it for B&B in future.
The bar area furniture has been changed to small round tables and the menu is much more limited than it used to be when a family run hotel. The food quality of lunch was mediocre and so was the service.
Nice clean tidy hotel, comfortable room, good breakfast.
Bedroom a little too hot even with all the windows open.
Staff especially our barmaid were delightful, helpful and concerned about our satisfaction with the hotel
Radiators not working, maybe due to refurb works
The staff were friendly.
The place is very old and vintage in a bad way.
