Score from 90 reviews Excellent
Very clean place and owners friendly and helpful. Very nice and plentiful breakfast and excellent value
Although tea and coffee could be made in the kitchen it would be nice to have the facility in you room.
The hosts were very nice and friendly, the accommodation was very clean and tidy and we had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was really good and set us up for the day ahead.
The hosts were very welcoming and the breakfast was scrumptious
Unfortunately there was no free wi-fi
Owners were lovely, couldn't do enough. Room was a very good size. Bathroom was lovely.
Cooking let an otherwise excellent stay down, but that might be us as we are not fans of microwaved scrambled egg and tinned tomatoes
Caring of the people even stayed less food etiqueties and deserved food kitchen decoration super inspirational photos kept in the house
It would be more helpful if Wi-Fi also available. But it was good that they informed in the website as well.
Hosts were lovely and very welcoming, property was very clean, warm and comfortable. Breakfast was first class
Would have liked a shower in room and coffee and tea making facilities in the room.
Very welcoming and friendly
Stayed at waratah lodge for one night and have to say everything about it was first class Clive & Linda made us very welcome. The house was spotlessly clean our room at the rear overlooking the garden was superb.large.menu for breakfast had a full English cooked by linda which was excellent there were 1or2 house rules but if people visited me I would expect them to do the same when you have a house like waratah lodge you don't want muddy shoes over your carpets or food and drink spilt in bedrooms.I would definitely stay there again.
We had a lovely quiet room overlooking the rear garden. Breakfast was akin to a family affair in the well appointed kitchen/breakfast room with a good choice of weell cooked food. Our hosts Clive and Linda gave us useful advice on places of interests etc, and were happy to chat.
It is possible to walk to a "local" but the paths are narrow and it is necessary to keep crossing a very busy, twisty road with badly maintained hedges. Spotting the sign for Waratah wasn't easy at night, nor is the exit from the front by car with the view partly obscured.
This stay was prior to a longer stay in Warner's in Sinah Warren who couldn't provide one extra night when our ferry from France was early. The location for Hayling Island was reasonable, it was especially easy to find off the motorway. What was fantastic was the customer service. The owners daughter was getting married on the day of our departure and the hotel really should have been closed, however do to an oversight our booking had been accepted and the owner in a very professional manner elected to miss the ceremony, what fantastic customer focus.....and the breakfast she provided was exceptional. Considering the pressure she must have been under she was brilliant....thanks. We just hope the rest of the wedding went well
Nothing everything was fine....although we were left feeling a little guilty due to te wedding plans.......
Enjoyed our brief one night stay. Great hosts......great breakfast..thanks
Surrounded by green, with a great garden. Nice breakfast.
Beds too soft.
Room at the back so no road noises. Friendly hosts
Microwaved scrambled eggs! No tea/coffee in room.
Excellent accommodation, comfy beds, uber clean!
Welcoming staff, excellent breakfast. Room was immaculate.
Everything was cooked in front of you, lovely place and people.
No complaints at all.
We received a warm welcome. Linda couldn't do enough for us. Very clean and great breakfast. We would stay there again
The very hearty service by the owner couple
Not like photo - looks as if in the countryside Too near main road and noisy No Shower only rubber tap clip on version Too many ornaments in the bedroom Breakfast the same each day not asked daily for requests
Hostess and host very welcoming Room spotlessly clean Spacious room Lovely breakfast TV and DVD
Soft toys in the room & doll in bathroom Rainbow drape over the bed - wasn't sure how clean it would be No tea and coffee in bedroom - you can make and drink some in the kitchen if you wish Eating dinner in your room was discouraged & I like to just have a sandwich and chill often. Corner bath was lovely but no shower attachment to rinse hair - the plastic one would not fit on the taps.
The owner was chatty and fun. We had use of kitchen if we needed it to make a hot drink before bedtime.
There was nothing to dislike.
Linda and Clive were absolutely perfect hosts and made us feel their home was our home. I would highly recommend it to any of my friends and if down that neck of the woods would definitely stay again. Thank you both for a brilliant stay.:)
