Nice comfortable room in excellent grounds
Very limited menu in restaurant
The locatoon is fantastic and the rooms werr very clean. Good value for money
I ordered the food and asked for plates. No plates or cutlery arrived. I ordered a pulled pork baguette and what arrived was belly pork in a burger bun and was cold. Would not order food from room service on our next stay
I'VE STAYED AT 2 DV. HOTELS AND REQUESTED AN EARLY MORNING CALL ON BOTH OCCASIONS. I DIDN'T RECEIVE A CALL ON EITHER OCCASION
Very good location
Poor service and menu in the Grange Not allowed to use the main building for food because of the weddings Disastrous room check - allocated room occupied.
quite and peaceful
The staff were helpful and friendly.
Bed was so uncomfortable. I barely slept and woke up with a really bad back.
Perfect if all you want is a room to stay for the night although I did not sample the catering facilities I want not encourage bu either look, decor, or reviews. As it was not included in my promotional rate, I had breakfast elsewhere that I knew to be always great
Main house and grounds lovely, our room in the Grange was comfortable and well equipped. Enjoyed eating in the bar and the restaurant. Amazing value for the price £29 per night for 2 of us.
Staff were very busy with conference guests which is obviously their main business, so service a bit slow, also my vegetarian husband wasn't terrribly impressed with the menu options.
A lack of attention to detail spoils this hotel. A tired bed, broken lock on the (ground floor) french windows so not able to have the windows secure but partially open in very hot weather. Staff pleasant but not engaging. I couldn't recommend this hotel.
The noise from the wedding at 3 am!
Really nice room Free wifi
The postcode took my SatNav to a gate on an unlit road. On the gate was a very small sign saying "For reception, go to the end of this road, turn right, turn right again." I know there isn't much that can be done about this regarding the SatNav, but a bigger sign would help. Also the name of the hotel on the sign.
The beautiful location. My 5 year old daughter loved it
That breakfast was an extra 8.50 pp. my daughter would have liked this but not eaten that amount for that price
No air conditioning in room.
Stayed here with my wife for a night as we had a party nearby to attend, grounds look nice on approach, but like most of the other reviews, this is the best part. Check in was quick, so quick we weren't asked if we needed a hand with our luggage or morning papers etc.. we also stayed in the grange, if you are offered it, refuse !! i asked if ther was a bar down there and somewhere to eat, to which the irish receptionist said yes, which was good as we wanted something before we went out. Got to the grange and it was over run by a conference with about 100 delegates there, and one member of staff, poor girl called jasmine, who was very helpful but run off her feet. needless to say there was no bar in the grange, the poor girl had to go back to the main building to get the drinks, she came back 30 minutes later, this on a very hot day, no cold drinks in the grange as all the delegates had them , and no food either.. The room had no air conditioning and when I rang reception was informed no rooms have air conditioning, small fan in cupboard, which made a noise and front was broken, bed was ok, couldn't stand in the bath for a shower as hit my head on the roof, i'm only 5 foot 11, so not overtall, no drawers for the clothes at all, but some fancy light stands, and 3 hangers for 2 peoples clothes.. breakfast was in the grange and is self service, so much so we had to ask a couple there how we got hot drinks, had to use the vending machine, full buffet bacon and eggs, no butter or orange juice to be found, eventually found 2 lads in the kitchen and i had to go in and ask for butter, very disappointed with the place, not worth the money , go elsewhere
No air con. Separate buildings have own receptions but not manned all the time, pressing 0 did not re-direct so could not get through to reception. Involved a 5-10 minute walk to main building, not ideal!
Noisey wedding guests
away from the house / no ventilation, no window to leave open at night.felt remote
The room was very clean and 'new' looking. Peaceful area.
The room was a bit hot during the night. Didn't notice the fan at the boot om of the wardrobe until the morning.
The location was lovely and if we had been allowed in the main house I am sure that would have been too!
We were not informed at the time of booking that due to a wedding being on we would not be able to go into the main house, bar or restaurant! We were made to feel like a nuisance and very unwelcome.
Very kind and motivated staff Good diners
The grounds were beautiful
The room was too hot. A fan had been provided but was not adequate
Excellent price for overnight accommodation.
Being in an attic bedroom meant it was awkward to stand in shower as it is built into the eves, bedroom was comfortable and warm but the general cleanliness and room upkeep needed attention. Stains on ceiling and walls, dust around bedside cabinets.
fire alarm at 08 30 sunday morning
Location for us was good. reception staff where very helpful and freindly
we were looking to eat an evening meal in the restaurant. there was no choice in courses. A set menu. not an ideal place to eat .. so we didnt!
