If you have a room near to the reception the room are fine, quiet, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good the reception staff are very friendly.
But if you have one of the other rooms the traffic noise is horrendous the room is filthy the toilet leaked all over the floor. Its a mission of corridors to find your room, what a shame! We stayed there twice in one week and the stay was totally different?
Andy in restaraunt
The hotel wroung advice. Disabled expected to climb 17 steps to room. cups used that need binning. Electric items pat test ran out ove all a hotel for contractors. Rather drive hone than stay here. Dreadfull stay
Could try change beds everyday to new sheets? fridges in rooms?
The staff were friendly and polite
Booking out is at 11 yet at half 8 whilst we were stil in bed the room cleaner came in ???? This was outrageous not happy at all !!!
Restaurant ok. Room clean.
Room long way from reception. Road noise a problem, very busy road. Double glazing would help.
Our first visit was very good, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good value. The room was lovely and comfortable.
Our second visit in the same week was a completely different experience. The room was filthy and the bathroom floor was covered in toilet water, also the traffic noise was AWFUL. Although the reception staff were apologetic, I would be more inclined to stay in a premier inn next time, what a shame?
the bed was good and the breakfast nice
Too many stairs - some to reach the Reception from the parking, then many stairs to the 1st floor rooms. Again, the Restaurant is at the parking level so too many stairs involved, and no lift facility. On Sunday we were told that breakfast will be available till 10.30 a.m., but even at 9.45 a.m. the appliances (toaster) had been removed and most food taken away
Hotel is being decorated and always a warm welcome from reception.
Never had reason to complain, we have no dislikes
Straight forward Rooms cleaned every day
Traffic to noisy Woken up every day before 6 because of it. Not much to do
UNCLEAN ROOM, LIGHTS NOT WORKING, BROKEN WINDOW LATCH AND BAD SMELL IN BATH ROOM.
Restaurant food and buffet breakfast was great. People on reception were friendly.
Some random guy opening my door with a key. No knocking, just came in while we were getting ready. Another member of staff knocking to tell us to leave as it was after 11am when we had arranged a late check out of 12pm... The shower in my room wasn't very powerful. Didn't feel clean afterwards.
Free parking Free wifi
No AC or temperature control in the rooms. Room was tidy at best, not clean by anyone's standard. Shower was so poor that it was like standing in a drizzling rain, not shower, and that after having waited for over 5 minutes for hot/warm water. Breakfast selection was poor in comparison with other hotels in the same price bracket.
The receptionist with the dark hair who was very friendly and most accomodating. I liked the fact they tried to meet my mobility issues.
The restaurant was closed and was told no chef available until 7:30pm and told to go to the estate opposite which ended up me paying out £85 for food and drinks, which would have been a lot cheaper at the hotel...poor service! Plus, the breakfast service was shut down 15 mins early meaning my son went without a cooked breakfast...kitchen staff actually quite impatient and rude about it too! Room quite small but appreciate they'd accomodated 3 single beds into a twin room to support my mobility issues.
Very near local attractions
Disinterested staff, confusion over booking even though i had clear print out. Wasn't made to feel welcome in any way.
The first room i was put into the bathroom was filthy - toilet bowl dirty pubic hair and scum in bath pkughole. Room was changed. Someone tried to get into my room at 4.45am using a key but i had the bar lock on. I went into breakfast at 7.50am only for a cup of tea and a slice of toast as i needed to be away only to be refused even though they were ready for 8.00am start. The night porter was rude and at first tried to tell me there was no managrr on duty. Eventually the manager came out and i formally made a complaint and filled in the forms for complaint and asked for a refund for the remainder of my stay3 nights. I checked out but noone has contacted me or refunded me. This hotel needs to get envuronmental health in. It is dirty and certainly not safe for female guests.
Bedding and towels clean
Bedding sheet had holes, room worn out apart from One newly decorated wall, curtains old and shabby, window latch broken and on window ledge, shower wasnt very powerful, beds hard and uncomfortable, dirt around bathroom floor, asked reception for 2 extra pillows (as only had 1 pancake fellow each!) Said they would bring to room within next 20 mins. 2 hours and they only brought one! There was a manky pillow covered in stains in wardrobe but was not going to use that! Breakfast Service was poor, surrounded by dirty tables. Food quality avereage. Stayed at cheaper hotels with better Standards. Never again!
no wi-fi in room, one member of staff was helpful and sorted wi-fi, another dismissed us completely breakfast poor, no choice, only eggs cooke dot perfection, coffee and tea tasted very bed, hotel should invest more in quality drink and food, no soap or shampoo in our room found but gave us at reception
Hairdryer in the room didn't work.
The hotel is basic, but clean. Friendly staff and very good value for the money.
Staff friendly in resturant and reception area.
Shame that they advertise weekend carvery on the board outside but do not actually provide this.
location and standard of the room poor. Cups in room with no saucers and no milk. No literature in the room for menus, TV operation, Telephone not working. Restaurant dirty, poor menu, no cereals left at breakfast. Food was of poor standard. Some staff did not speak english. Rooms up two lots of stairs, no one to help with luggage. Worst stay in 50years.
- Location, location, location! Why stay at the Village or Premier Inn which are on the same street but loads more expensive?! You are over the road from Tesco, and in walking distance to Priory Park, the Zoo, and the Black Country Living Museum. - Very easy to find. - Nice decor in our room, no.319 - Helpful staff when shower didn't work properly and when requested ice bucket
- Soft mattress - No double glazing (bit of road noise) - Problems with our shower - Dirty glasses from bar left on landing windowsill for a few days, right by cleaner's room as well!
Clean sheets, up to date rooms
Duvets wasn't clean. Stains on walls Stains in bathroom More to do in the hotel For the price wasn't good
sooner had paid a little more and stopped at villager across the road , very dated and room 315 was noisy from road etc , this needs a total upgrade really
A great place to stay, always a super welcome from reception. Rooms are spacious and very welcoming.
