The noise from the road made sleeping difficult, when I tried to run shower in morning the water trickled out and I then had to run a bath. I could have booked Travelodge at a cheaper price but thought this would be a better standard, this was not the case.

The double bed ( two singles joined together )- miss matched - large hump at the join - on side worn out the springs dug into me. Bathroom old and tatty - not cleaned in the corners! Buffet breakfast served to us by a very unfriendly woman, who had a couldn't be bothered attitude. Its the first time we have had a buffet breakfast served to us. We went down for breakfast at 8.30am and there were 3 glasses left for the juice, only 1 pastry left. The only quality at that hotel is the name over the door.

I've travelled and stayed in many hotels, including this very hotel approx 8 years ago. I understand everyone has an expectation and would like to point out that all I require is a friendly hello and a clean warm room to rest.. As I booked out of this hotel I felt upset that staying here had become such a horrible experience.. To highlight some problems I think I will just list what I found; When booking into the hotel, I was alone, it was a very cold day and the snow had turned to ice outside, the entrance to the hotel was on a slight incline and a ramp upto the doors. Obviously for disabled access. The ice and snow had not been cleaned away or the area gritted so this was extremely slippy! When booking in at the desk, the reception representative was friendly enough, explaining breakfast times etc, and taking my payment. I then proceeded to walk the long walk to the other side of the hotel to find my room, which became a bit of a joke because signs were none exsistant! After finding my room and dropping off my bag, I put in the kettle for a much needed cuppa! (I had just driven 3 hours from South Wales) to find, no tea bags, no milk and no sugar!! I called the reception and she told me to go to reception and collect some!!! So I turned off the kettle and as I had to make a journey to the car for my bags I would collect some on the way. So proceeded to take the long walk to the car and collect 2 of my 3 bags as they were too heavy to carry and I was scared of falling on the ice!! I waited at reception as no one was there and after a couple of mins decided to drop off my bags and get it in the next journey!! Needless to say I was totally exhausted after collecting my bags and going to and from my room so I ended up not having that cuppa!! Entering the bathroom, there was some yellow drip stains in the toilet seat and I had to clean it with some antibacterial wipes I carry with me!!!

Comfortable, lots of tea and coffee in room, clean. Breakfast hot and plenty of it. Needs updating, staff didn't smile, lots if people standing around the reception chatting with staff, staff smoking outside, (and they were staff because they had Quality Hotel jackets on)

The bed was comfy Confusion as to whether we paid. Room was freezing. Bathroom was filthy. Breakfast staff were incredibly rude. We were informed by reception that breakfast was served till 10:30, we arrived at 9:55 no one was there to inform us how breakfast ran. A lady then barked at us did we want a full English? There were no other options. The food itself was ghastly, rashers of bacon fused together and only cooked on one side, fried bread too tough to cut. Everything was congealed. The lady directed us to beverages available at the bar, there was only the dregs of tea and coffee. I asked the lady for a fresh mug as mine had clearly been used, this was met with rolling eyes and a huff. I later asked if there were any fruit juices, to which I got an earful about how breakfast stopped at 10 and she whipped everything away immediately. I was informed I could have some if the fridges were still on. To do this day I'm still unsure as to why the fridges would ever be off... The breakfast room itself was still heavily littered with balloons, confetti, empty bottles from a party the night before.

Location The room was stuffy, not very clean and did not appear to be well maintained. The double bed was sunken on one side and the heating was not working. In addittion to this, I was not able to phone reception because the phone was not working. When I eventually spoke to the staff regarding the issues mentioned above, I was further appalled by the fact that the staff were not aware of the complaints procedure.

Decent location. Easy parking. Free Wi-Fi in room. Nothing to specifically not like about the place, but it's seen better days and the staff, while not unfriendly. aren't exactly welcoming. Strange grey streaks in scrambled eggs - no problem about getting another breakfast with fried eggs instead but not a great start to the day. If you're happy with, 'adequate' then this place will suit you ... but don't expect, 'good'.
