food choices limited if you were on a diet. chef could not even provide a jacket potato, or a fresh fruit salad, very poor, considering the cost of the meal

It was well situated, the reception staff were friendly and helpful. I had asked for 4 beds in the room which I was advised hadn't happened. In the end my husband wasn't able to stay so it didn't matter but would have been a major problem if he had. The bathroom was a disgrace, it wasn't particularly clean, the shower was unusable, an attachment to the taps was to be used instead of the fixed shower which had presumably broken beforehand. The trouble with the attachment to the taps was that as soon as you tried to get any water through it, it fell off and sprayed water everywhere. Lastly, the lady who was working at breakfast was very rude and unhelpful. There were no glasses for fruit juice and I waited 20 minutes before my pot of tea arrived. The food was good but the service was apalling, if she had just apologised and explained that she was busy and would get to us when she could we would have understood. I would definately not stay at this hotel again.

Breakfast was Ok The rooms were dowdy and basic. My friend couldn't open the windows. The Non-smoking room smelt of smoke. The lights by the Beds did not work. The bedding was old and uncomfortable. Never ever stay here.

It was close to where our son was staying, the breakfasts were good value and good quality. Although we booked months in advance, the first room we were given was adjacent to Birmingham road which was extremely noisy and we only achieved approx 2hours sleep, when I approach reception they immediately provided an alternative room at the rear of the hotel, which suggested that this was not the first time this issue had been raised. The second room we were given had problems with the shower, water just stopped flowing, we were then given another room in which to shower. We were under the impression the shower had been fixed only to find the water stopped again. Maintenance came to inspect and advised that air had gotten into the line and we needed to lower the the shower head to around bath level where the water did flow and then slowly return the shower head to its bracket. Water stopped again six times whilst showering. When housekeeping serviced the rooms, they placed all the dirty linen and towels in the corridors so guests had to negotiate around all these objects when walking to and from their rooms.

Convenient location to what we wanted to do, research of ancestors. Check in and booking were easy and convenient. Breakfast filling and sustaining for the very cold weather we experienced. Very hard bed, rooom not as clean as I would have liked. No toothglasses supplied on second night as the very britttle ones had broken on first use.

The staff were very friendly and did their best to ensure that I was comfortable. Andy and Euan were exceptionally courteous and went out of their way to may my stay a memorable one. The ladies at the reception were very polite and helpful too. I believe it is very important to have good Wi-Fi in the rooms. It is also important to have telephones in each room to enable family to keep in touch, rather than walking up to the reception every time.

Location was excellent as close to my business needs. Staff on arrival were excellent. Staff on departure poor, not even a "how was your stay", just a grunt. Hotel was very very noisy late at night doors banging room backed on to very busy road no double glazing to keep noise out and paper thin walls. Rooms need upgrading badly it seemed like I was living an episode of life on mars. Tea/coffee making facilities poor. Shower was designed by r2d2 or Jawa's if you were 4ft then its fine but at 6ft the shower head washed my knees and that was about it.

All staff friendly and helpful including restaurant and bar staff. Evening meal very good value and tasty. The room wasnt warm enough. Even though we were early for breakfast it seemed as if it ready for ages or like it had been warmed up from previous day so was disappointed with that especially after the lovely meal the evening before.

The hotel receptionist was talking on the phone when I arrived and took 10 minutes to see to me, I was then sent to the direction of my room up and down lots of stairs no lift? with 2 suitcases. I was lost and made my way back to reception where the staff were reluctant to take me to my room and another hotel guest offered, I decline and asked a member of staff to take me. The room was cold, noise from the outside traffic kept me awake, the carpets were dirty, the tv would not turn on its stand and would only face towards the wall made uncomfortable viewing. Breakfast was good. I will not be booking again.

The staff were very friendly at all times, and always helped when asked. Rooms were cleaned on daily We went for the half board option which was of very good value. The menu for dinner did not have much choice. Especially for vegetarians as one of our group is a veggie. The quilts on the beds are very small in width and as soon as you move it comes off one side.

The room was clean and tidy. The facilities were more than adequate. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our previous stay, hence why we came back again this time. We had heard about other hotels being rather noisy at night, but QHD enabled a quiet night's sleep. I was a little disappointed by the receptionist's attitude on the day we booked-in. She allowed the influx of visitors to become a negative issue rather than looking at it positively i.e. in current economic climate, it is surely good for the business to have so many booking in . She was rather harrassed, instead of being welcoming.
