WOW.....amazing personalized attention to the detail. Most friendly people keen to provide the best service possible. Very close to Eurotunnel. Easy parking. Nicely decorated for Christmas.
Only that I didn't have a longer stay.
Friendly staff, warm and welcoming, bed very comfy and room great, food good.
staff very friendly and helpful the beds really comfy would stay again
the bar and restaurant was closed at 5pm sunday
Amazing service Comfy bed Brilliant food Nice staff Location
Our room was a lovely large size and very light. The beds were very comfortable and it was very clean throughout and represented good value for money. The reception and dining area had been nicely modernised and looked very chic and I understand that some of the rooms had also been updated, but not ours.
The bathroom was a little dated with a coloured suit, and likewise the decor in the bedroom and stairwell, but it looks as though the hotel is undergoing a gradual refurbishment programme.
Friendly and helpful staff Good location for ferry crossing. Stayed here because most hotels in Dover were full and it was cheaper.
needs a bigger menu
I liked everything. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left 4 days later I was treated as a valued guest. I travel a lot and know genuine hotel hospitality when I experience it. One gets the strong impression at Wards that the food is delicious, the rooms beautifully presented, impeccably clean and supremely comfortable not for the sake of 'good business' alone but because Connan and his staff take real pride in their work. They like looking after people, that's the bottom line.
Any room for improvement is really to do with marketing. Wards is underselling itself. The interior is much, much nicer than the photos online. The signage and lighting out front need rethinking, the restaurant looks a bit bare and doesn't visually prepare you for how stunningly good the food is... These are all teething issues which will get sorted in time. And how refreshing to have ones expectations so far exceeded for a change...
No evening meal available
Location, close to centre of Folkestone, on site (free) parking, excellent Wifi Spacious light and airy clean ( executive) room altough decor might be a bit dated i would choose this room again, extremely good value for money
On arrival we were welcomed by most friendly girl at reception but it felt that we where (left) all alone in the hotel during the night Altough we did get two phone numbers where we could reach either her or Conen ( owner)
Quiet location, friendly staff.
Gloomy room - blue & brown wallpaper & soft furnishings. Damp evident in bathroom - paper coming away from wall. In need of refurbishment. Poor choice & quality of breakfast.
Really helpful staff Good food customer centric Very welcoming
The reception in the evening and the advice on where to eat out.
1. The restaurant was closed in the evening. At 7.30 in the morning, there were no staff about. We had to leave and the chef and maid were standing outside. They had no key to enter and they said they had made phone calls but nobody answered. We had to leave for the tunnel and buy breakfast there!
Location was fine
Room was very much below wot I consider to be value for money ,, bathroom was filthy , doors don't shut ,, jacuzzi that don't work ,, list goes on !,
Great location for a quiet night's sleep, a little out of town but this is a good thing as it is a very quiet part of town. Smart room, lovely staff, decent vege breakfast, what more can I say?
Very friendly atmosphere Good service
Outside Floodlight beaming through bathroom window, between 5--5.30am (Aug 3rd, Room 6)
A few minutes from the channel tunnel. Easy walk to the sea front.
Car park in need of some attention on surface and low growing greenery. Not secure.
Owner was very helpful and friendly, excellent dinner for a reasonable price, we were given a refurbished room, so everything was brand new. From the hotel it is only a short walk from the coast. Would certainly stay here again.
Management has recently been changed, I think. The staff had some difficulty finding their way around, but the owner solved all that in an adequate manner, so not really an issue.
We were here to go for a funeral, everything was excellent..right from the staff to the room.the owner is vey friendly and will go out of his way to help.if ever i was going to Folkestone again we would definatly stay there...well worth the money.
Clean room, good breakfast and good value for money.
all the above plus the owner was very pleasant with a good sense of humour
he wouldn't let me walk off with the glass bowl on reception desk.
Good location Good food Friendly staff Comfortable room Close to town centre but away from traffic Onsite parking
The hotel is in a quiet yet fairly convenient location. The management and staff were extremely attentive and willing to go that extra mile.
The hotel has only recently been acquired by the current owner and the rooms are gradually being updated. Some rooms are definitely superior to others but nevertheless represent value for money.
Really kind personnel. Good restaurant and breakfast . Good location, close enough to city center, but quiet area. No problem for parking.
Problem with hot water. Not working at some evening periods and no pressure on the shower.
Excellent service, friendly, good food, close to Eurotunnel and good value.
