Was our second stay at The Slaughters Country Inn and was just as lovely as the first time. Staff, food and location - excellent, lovely weekend break in idyllic setting. Will go again.

Nothing really not to like, although the room we stayed in this time was not very sound proof and could hear conversations in the bar below. Furniture a little tired in some of the rooms and a little on the pricey side for drinks.

The location is excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Slaughters Country Inn and the tranquil surroundings of what is a stunning village. The staff were very welcoming, very friendly and attentive throughout the stay. Our room, in the main building, had beautiful views over the rear garden and ponds. It was very clean and comfortable and met with all of our needs. Nice to have a quiet lie in on the Saturday morning too and breakfast served until 10.30. We didn't eat at the hotel in the evening as we wanted to explore the area and booked a meal in another fairly local pub/restaurant. Breakfast at the Slaughters was enjoyable and although one of the orders was not quite correct it was changed with no question and within only a few minutes.

There wasn't anything that we could honestly say we didn't like at the Slaughters Country Inn. The weather was a bit hit and miss and could've been a little kinder but hey ho we're in Britain. You would have to be extremely picky to find something that would really upset your stay here.

We had Manor suite which was very comfortable and quiet and fully equipped. Excellent breakfast - great choice and cooked breakfast well presented. Excellent quality for the price and beautiful location.

Excellent stay in superb setting

The setting couldn't be better. Spacious room with good facilities. Excellent value with special offer price of £90 per night including breakfast Excellent breakfast (apart from poached eggs) First night restaurant offered a fish special for £9.99 including a glass of wine. Pity it was only one night Friendly staff

Very expensive and limited menu. Fine dining price but not fine dining service. Food good but not good value. Extra veg £3.50 and £2 if you wanted a sauce with your £22 sirloin steak. Restaurant manager scruffy and could not tell us what cheeses were on the cheeseboard. Most of staff wore jeans. Cheapest rose wine £22! Chef appeared to have difficulty cooking poached eggs, underdone on both mornings. Had to stand on chair to open velux windows in room (we are both pensioners) and two out of three lights in sitting area did not work. Cleaner left room unlocked whilst we were out for the day.

Beautiful ambience. Excellent service and lovely gardens. The food was excellent.

We thought the slaughters very stylish and comfortable. The staff were all helpful friendly great breakfast. Good value.

Not 4 star quality, overpriced! limited menu, bedroom furniture looked tired and TV reception very poor

Location is lovely. Receptionists were very pleasant. We were upgraded to a cottage with 2 rooms and a bathroom. Lots of fruit at breakfast time.

Restaurant prices were high and portions were very small. We only ate there once so had to travel every night - not far but too far to walk.

Staff uniform - jeans look too casual & give sloppy impression. Spelling mistakes in guest information book - small details which make a difference.

Our whole experience of this hotel was good,staff all friendly and helpful at all times.We were upgraded upon arrival and,because of the cosy atmosphere, we ate in the hotel bar each evening.

The location of the hotel is ideal and the warm welcome on arrival helped to set the scene for a relaxing two days.

The menus are plastic just like the ones you get in a fast food outlet.......plus not very hygenic. The food service was very slow........a good 45 min wait between starters and the main course. We stayed in the Cotton Hall which is above the bar. The noise from the bar meant it felt like our bed was in the middle of the bar. Additionally we could hear the couple staying above us. I would come back in the future but would bring ear plugs!!

The weather!

Lovely rooms - even our standard double had a large bathroom with roll top bath (Godolphin). Friendly staff. Great food. Gorgeous setting in pretty village and walking distance (25 mins) to Bourton-on-the-Water

No air con so room was very warm. Would have been nice to have a fridge in the room. No face flannels in the bathroom. The local taxi that the hotel called for us charged £25 return for a trip to Stow which is only 3 miles away. All just minor details though and we would definitely stay again
