The Slaughters Country Inn  

I liked the whole experience. Very nice. Clean, polite staff, good food, comfortable bed, brilliant breakfast. I will stay there again.

Slaughters Inn was fantastic! Our accommodation was great and the restaurant for dinner was lovely. We had an 8 month old with us and we were provided with a cot and high chair. The kids menu in the bar was great, being able to choose various combinations was very helpful. Overall, we wish we'd stayed longer!

We could not get the temperature in our room down which resulted in a sleepless night. For some reason the towel rack in the bathroom cannot be turned off and it radiates a very hot heat through to the bedroom.

Very comfortable hotel in beautiful Cotswold village. Staff extremely helpful and evening meal in restaurant was delicious. A peaceful getaway.

Friendly & helpfull staff

Beautiful location. Set in stunning tree lined village/hamlet with babbling river running through. Beautiful room, warm, clean, nicely designed. Nice personal welcome letter from manager pointing out key points of interest. Great to be able to walk along country path to Boughton on the water. Nice to not to have to take the car. A pleasant surprise to know if we return we can take our Dog - as are allowed in certain rooms and in the bar.

Very slight problem was being awoken early by either staff, other residents or herd of elephants? in room above us. Plumbing also ran into our bathroom so sounded and felt like they were also using our facilities. Very minor problem.

The bedroom was fantastic along with a luxury bathroom with it being all very comfortable. The location of the Inn with beautiful surroundings and easy access to other stunning villages and towns is ideal. A great overall stay.

The food in the restaurant was not worth the money we paid. My main meal of beer battered fish and chips was well over done and was disappointing. But the breakfast the next morning soon made up for it, delicious and plentiful.

Beautiful setting and quiet, other than bird noises. Staff were very freindly and approachable. Food was really good too.

The service in the resturant was pretty caotic at times. Staff kept taking food to wrong tables and bringing other courses without clearing away empty plates! Would have preferred bed room on one level as top half very small.

The beautiful setting, cozy room and the very friendly staff. We liked the sheep next door. Close proximity to other villages - Bourton-on-the-Water, Morton on the Marsh and Stow.

The main dining room doesn't have much ambience for dinner - bright lights, not well decorated - doesn't fit the country setting. The food was ok but not outstanding.

Everything from the lovely helpful staff to the location so relaxing surrounded by fields and trees and the garden going down to the river with ducks on where you could sit out and eat if you wanted or just relax with a glass of something,and the comfy cosy cottage style rooms, we will go back without a doubt as soon as possible. We also had brilliant sunny weather which helped but I bet even in winter it would be great to stay there.

The staff were very helpfull and we were lucky enough to be upgraded as were having a celebration weekend with friends celebrating 2 wedding anniversaries(one a 40th) and a 60th birthday. It was a beautifull location and a perfect weekend

The hotel is in a fantastic position, has been tastefully modernised and has a nice overall feel. The staff were very welcoming, and the food was good when available.

The service is very poor. On the first evening we booked a table for a bar meal, but when we arrived at the appointed time the reserved table had been taken. We were told to 'find a table that does not have reserved on it'. We then ordered, with the first course arriving after 50 minutes. At breakfast, every morning, there were no clean tables, several breakfast items not available - either because 'the large party has eaten them' or 'they have been missed off our order'. On the final day we were asked to have breakfast in the bar area as 'the large party' had used all the tables. We declined and a table was prepared for us. Our particular bedroom did not have a wardrobe or drawers for clothes in the room. Five hanging spaces (not many for two people) are provided in the bathroom, as are open shelves. Consequently, clothes became damp after taking a bath, even though the extractor fan was on.

The one window of our room faced a fence / motorbike store (Evans Suite), would have preferred a room in the main building on the 1st floor with a view.

We loved the hotel itself with its luxurious rooms. The staff cannot do enough for you. The surroundings are stunning. the atmosphere is very relaxed and the food and drink is amazing. This is the best place we have been to in the UK and the best hotel we've ever stayed in. We got a free upgrade for me partners birthday which just topped off a perfect experience
