The baths are very slippery - suggest a rubber bathmat is made available. Bedside reading lights are not bright enough

I booked the room through a last minute website. I was running the London Marathon and wanted a hotel near the finish line. It was the cheapest hotel I could find in the area and when I got to my room I found myself booked into the George Washing Suite. It was lovely and far exceeded my expectations! The staff were friendly and wished me luck at the marathon when I called to order morning room service. They were helpful with directions on where to park and allowed me to continue using the lobby facilities after I had already checked out, but completed the marathon and needed a place to rest while my partner organised our trip home. I would definitely suggest this place to anyone staying in London.

Very nice hotel and lovely room. Stayed here as was running in The London Marathon and was very kindly upgraded to an executive suite which made our day! Good location - although free transport to the start line as provided by a few other hotels would be a nice touch.

Did not receive requested wake up call on the day of the marathon (this was requested twice) which could have been potentially catastrophic!

The room allocated overlooked the main street which was extremely noisy especially when there were deliveries at the shops and caffes opposite. I would expect double glazing considering the cost per night!

Staff at counter took ages and seemed uninterested in our initial complaint of being put into a smoking room when non smoking was requested. Thought an air freshener would do. Problem was rectified in the end after a lot of wasted time and complaining which would otherwise wise be a perfect score throughout.

Location is ideal. Room design was interesting without being over-the- top or distracting. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, this was a functional and comfortable hotel that worked very well for my business trip.

Only problems were minor: free wifi was very slow, so opted for ethernet cable connection, which cost gbp13 per 24 hours; desk chair seemed mildly rickety.
