Score from 400 reviews Very good
Walking distance from Ambleside. Spacious and well appointed room. Helpful staff who assisted with a variety of matters, including supplying a packed breakfast as we were departing early.
The Inn backs on to a rather busy road so therefore there is road noise during the day - but not during the night. Barking dog in room above. No table service to outside area, for evening meals.
Food was good! It's got a nice relax atmosphere!
location by the lake and ease of parking and bar facilities and that wonderful view for breakfast - we were not a mature couple - a father and daughter but that is what i had to complete in the questionnaire!!
no lift for my Dad - should have been told at booking time
Hotel was very comfortable and clean.
As a resident, having to order meals at the bar, even with a priority service, doesn't really equate with the overall cost of B&B.
Excellent location, lovely breakfast, comfy rooms, staff all really pleasant and helpful
DOGS !!!! They were supposed to remain in one area, but they seemed to be in most areas, not good if you are asthmatic or allergic to dogs
The Wateredge is in a fantastic location, has lovely rooms that are maintained to a very high standard and staff who were friendly and helpful at all times. Food so good I had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel.
Nothing it was a lovely stay and I will stay again
Free off road parking 5 mins by car from Brockhole / Lake District Visitors Centre, 10min walk into Ambleside, 2min walk to lake / ferry. Quiet night's sleep Clean comfortable room Free bottled water Having an early start because of a swim event I was unable to make the breakfast times but was offered a more than adequate packed lunch to take with me instead. Staff were friendly and helpful. Atmosphere in the bar area was bright and airy with lots of seating available, there was a view of the lake from some of the tables near the windows.
Tried quite hard to find something but couldn't, will definitely stay here again.
The hotel, staff, food, and facilities were excellent - couldn't fault this on any count. There was ample car parking and in a prime location right on the edge of the northern point of the lake, just ten minutes walk or a two minute drive from Ambleside town, it was everything I expected.
The passageways and stairways between the rooms were a bit narrow, making it difficult to get the bags to and from the rooms, particularly up to rooms 20-28 (I think that's right). A bit od assistance from the staff in this area wouldn't go amiss.
having to wait for room at 2.55pm as check in was 3pm a little bit pedantic
On arrival we orderd lunch waitress excellent. Food quite good. The bill arrived just a ticket put down on the table no tray plate etc. When we paid no thanyou mints yet others paying did get them. Room was comfortable great views but very tired in need of several repairs and dated. We asked for fresh milk for a dribk in our room to be told I cant give you a jug there might not be enough for the breakfast tables. Definitely not value for money
Friendly staff and location. Really good breakfast. Very clean and comfortable. Lovely views of Lake from bar and garden terrace.
The hotel was very clean, huge bed, lake view, attentive staff , food good quality and portions huge
Bar and food prices expensive
Friendly helpful staff. Good location.
Room was very clean and bed was extremely comfy. Just what I need after a long hike in the hills.
Stopped serving food too early and food was okay, nothing spectacular.
Fantastic location on the edge of Lake Windermere
We are celebrating our Golden Wedding anniversary and we chose the Wateredge Inn for a short break as part of our celebrations. The Inn is situated close to Lake Windermere and the well maintained grounds and seating area is pleasantly positioned for viewing the magnificent Lake and surrounding mountains. The breakfasts are well presented and the staff serving breakfasts are pleasant, polite and helpful. Our bedroom was comfortable and clean. We had a bottle of 'fizz' waiting for us in our bedroom when we returned from a walk on our anniversary day - compliments of the hotel. Lovely. Thanks to all of the staff for helping us begin our celebrations and helping to make our stay very enjoyable.
Fantastic location. Clean, warm, friendly everything you could ask for. We did visit after the children had gone back to school.
Nothing not to like.
Staff were always pleasant, friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and had a little garden with views over the lake. The dog friendly inn has quite a big garden area that goes down to the water. Very beautiful. We had an easy walk into Ambleside which is a lovely little town with fab shops and is dog friendly!
The food was delicious and the portions were more than we could eat. The Inn was spotlessly clean and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were excellent.
There was nothing to fault apart from we did not want to go home.
Lake view room, expensive but was actually a suite. Good view of lake and beyond (over roof of bar). Superb location next to Windermere ferry and shortish walk into Ambleside.
Restaurant not used apart from breakfast (which was very good). Bar menu is the only option. Appeared good standard, but it's not luxury dining.
The view of the lake from our bedroom window. The system of giving residents priority at mealtimes over others
The location; all members of staff were very helpful; there was good access to bus stops and the car parking was good; I liked the overall level of upkeep and cleanliness of the hotel; I was very satisfied with all aspects of my holiday at Wateredge Inn.
I felt there was nothing to dislike. The only real drawback was that there was no lift to the upstairs rooms but we did have help with our luggage on arrival.
The location, the friendly staff, the rooms clean and quiet, the food and the bar, the outdoor settings and the view down the lake
Perfect situation, staff welcoming and attentive, food great and great value, great place to explore The Lakes from.
