We were in 3 different rooms over a 2 night stay .1st room suitable enough but in the morning found out shower didn't work,I took a bath but my partner was shown to another room to shower .We were then offered this room but tv didny worl.Phone in room one not connected so toacess room service had to keep running up and down stairs .Offered another room at the back of the hotel I presume a family room which was as cold as a freezer Eventually offered a lovely room no 4 I think while we were unpacking receptionist arrived and told us the room was booked by someone else for 2 weeks. At this point I started crying and the weekend break was ruined it was my Dads birthday and all the room changes was making us late to meet the family. The receptionist returned with a bottle of wine and said we could stay in the room.We left the room for the whole day only to find it had been left unlocked all day and we couldn't lock the door from the inside, phone again didn't work so another treck downstairs to get assistance from the manager .This was given along with a one night refund of the room charge. However this was small consolation for a family weekend celebration being ruined.
Our room was clean and tidy, Hotel's Close proximity to the Railway Station and to the Town Centre.
Only Minor Complaint about our room was the noise from a Fan, I assume this was a Main Extractor Fan in a Duct. But this did not stop us from enjoying our stay at the Hotel
All staff were excellent, very friendly and accommodating. Hotel location is extremely good within 2 minute walk to town and transport. Food very good and very nicely presented. Special thanks to Vicky who changed my room with no bother, in order to give me better internet access - essential for me when travelling abroad. I would have no hesitation going back to the Waterford Lodge next time I'm there.
Very limited TV stations.
I liked the room. The bed was comfortable and the staff were very friendly, helpful and made sure my stay was enjoyable. The food served there was excellent. I would certainly recommend trying the steakhouse whether you are staying guest or a passer by.
It was noisy on the weekend nights from partygoers as my room was directly above the function room, but thankfully only up to midnight. I could have done a hairdryer and an ironing board.
Every part of our stay
Whats not to like liked it all
not a lot
damp, black mould everywhere even corridors. when breakfast waitress saying wearing a coat to serve cause of cold not a good sign, not a good breakfast a terrible experience altogether do not stay here.
Very tired rooms, decoration needed badly, also damp.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast. close to town. Having used this hotel frequently this year have noticed a lot of changes for the good, keep it up.
Wall/roof paper should be repaired sooner rather than later, could save larger repairs. Shower facilities not very good.
fantastic hotel nice room good location warm room friendly staff nice breakfast top class good price
no problems with this hotel it was top class for the price
Friendly and helpfull staff. Own parking space. Good pub on ground floor with perfect food.
Excellent staff good sized rooms excellent location near shops and bars
Room was a bit cold radiator too small
Location and site lovely. Helpfulness of staff excellent and breakfast lovely
Shower not very good or warm and heating in the morning of room poor
Bedding Towel quality Room size Staff helpfulness Room temperature
The staff were very friendly, room was secure, quiet, very spacious and clean. Bed was comfy and breakfast was very good. Close to the town centre, river and parks. Excellent value for money.
Shower wouldn't switch off but when the staff were notified they fixed it immediately
Room 16 dull décor from the 50s/60s Urgently needs re vamp
The staff were friendly and the meal in the restaurant good. Good location
The bedroom was very cold, the TV did not work, the shower would not turn off, the breakfast room was so cold it made you feel uncomfotable. On the second night the car park was full and I was unable to park my car in the hotel car park
Needed wifi for work and no problem to change rooms as first one had none
As it's a very old building it was very cold through the the night
Just 100m from town centre. Large room with windows to main road but not at all noisy, in fact one of the quietest to sleep in we have encountered. English breakfast was beautifully cooked. The hotel even had ample car parking.
A small packet of tissues in the room would have been useful, but would have been provided had we asked
Towels were lovely and refreshment tray good. Bathroom was a really good size. The bar area excellent as was the breakfast. Staff were really nice and friendly and very helpful. This place could be really very nice; just a few things that need looking at really.
The shower was not very good; old and could do with updating. Also the taps on the sink were not good either. Bed seemed smaller than a standard double and mattress too soft. There was a lot of wet / damp coming through on the outside wall up the stairway and damp / mould spots in our room.
The cleaners were very noisy in the corridor in the morning, when I ask them to keep it down a bit I was given a dirty look but nothing was said.
a very pleasant stay, breakfast was very good and staff very helpful and acted promptly when ever we needed something this was our second stay there this year and will be staying there again next year
The bed was very comfortable
The shower pressure was poor
Spacious room, easy 10min walk into town centre. Excellent cooked breakfast. Pleasant staff.
Decor and furnishing could do with upgrading.
Staff were friendly. The downstairs area was pleasantly decorated. The beds were comfy and bed linen and towels were good quality. Plenty of hot water from the shower and room was warm.
The rooms need updated and a industrial clean. Very dusty above eye level and windows need replaced as there is a condensation problem. The curtains need replaced or sorted to allow them to close
restauant a bit cafe
