The reception staff were welcoming. The room was comfortable and there was everything you needed except for shoe cleaning material. Also the vacuuming was not very thorough. The evening meal in restaraunt was very good with a good atmosphere. The location on the canal is very good although the canal in parts needs cleaning up. There is a lot of rubbish in it right outside the room window. Excellent place for a stopover if you are in the district.

Informative & attentive staff,good clean rooms,and an above average Italian restaurant(Prego) on the premises.Within easy reach of Yorkshire Dales,numerous interesting museums/heritage sites close by.Excellent hotel for short breaks or longer.

We booked this on price, flash deal, to attend a function. The room was small and the shower was in need of refurbishment, there were some cracked tiles and quite a lot of mould/mildew around. Other than that it was fine.

Very helpful staff and friendly too. The restaurant was very busy but served our food quickly, on nice hot plates, and was to a good standard, we enjoyed what we had, reasonably priced. The bathroom only had a shower, but the shower screens need a good clean and the floor needs attention as there were some splits in it. The function room music went on until about 12.30am which we could not get to sleep till it finished.

The Hotel situated in a great location for local amenities, and for my work. The central heating system made a noise whether it was on or off. which spoiled my stay this time.

The rooms were noisy, but looked good. The shower tray was broken, and the room was a little small. The breakfast was good and the food would probably be good at night but we ate elsewhere. The parking was pay and display which is a negative, and the hotel has quite an early checkout.

Very good value for money. Friendly and informative staff. Excellent breakfast and service. Some of the bathroom fittings needed replacing, I.E. toilet seat and dripping hot water tap.

The breakfast is lovely and the main restaurant rooms are very designer and nice to use. The car park is handy. It is nice that the building was a former mill and has been tastefully altered. There was a very loud vibration from the bathroom which the Manager could not comprehend. It went right then did it again. I was concerned that it might do it during the night but it didn'T. Our bedroom window was very ill-fitting and draughty. The shower base was extremely slippery and my husband did slip and hurt his back a little. It said there was a bath mat but there wasn'T. By the entrance to the lift on the ground floor there is an automatic air-freshener puff machine which was dreadful.

Our room on the first night had a terrible mattress, we complained and were upgraded to a deluxe room for the next three nights. The breakfast was lovely. The lodge was easy to find and had lots of amenities nearby. There was some confusion over the amount we were to pay and the check-in lady misquoted us, when corrected she said we should pay only what she had quoted but when we checked out we were asked for the difference?? (It was only £5 so no big deal but the principle was a bit frustrating!).
