The bar and dining facilities were exceptional
whilst dining in restaurant staff had to be called for drinks on every occasion
Restaurant was good and served by friendly staff. Hotel room was clean and comfy. Spa facilities made the stay even better. Lovely location and short walk to the nearby pubs and restaurants.
Location is perfect just for a short wander into town. Pool was great for my son.
The lodges are a bit dated, and this should be reflected in the price. Walls were very thin and we could hear next doors tv quite clearly.
the wait was to long on the food ,
Top hotel with the personal, friendly touch.
The location of the hotel and free parking is ideal. After a very long walk the leisure facilities were a relaxing way to spend the afternoon. The meal we had in the restaurant on Valantines night was superb and a great choice. All the staff in the restaurant were polite and friendly and I'm glad we decided to eat there. Breakfast was also very good too, buffet style including full english and continental.
Bed was like lying on concrete
The bed was very comfortable
We had rung ahead and asked about bringing our dog - when we got there they had no record of this and there were no dog rooms left. We travelled with our baby and no cot was provided . The check in time was quite late and the check out time was early . We normally stay at the royal oak or the stables they are far better
Spent valintines weekend here and was lovely. Walked up snowden in the day, came back to hotel after and had a sauna, jacuzzi and steam room, then later we had our 3 course meal and it was lovely.
Warm clean room
- The staff were very lovely. - The food in the restaurant was really good. - The location is gorgeous! - Free parking is always a bonus.
Wouldn't recommend for a one night stay.... If you stayed longer you'd have a chance to use the facilities, as we only stayed one night we didn't get the opportunity due to the closing times. - The spa shuts quite early. Didn't get a chance to use it, as check out the next day is 10.30 we didn't have a chance to use it the next day either. - The rooms were very over priced. £140 for a standard double, felt like staying at an over priced holiday inn. - There was no room service, even though it was advertised with the booking and written in the welcoming book.... When we asked for a room service menu we were told there was no such thing. - The bar is advertised as a 24 hour service, but closed at 11.
The room was large with a good view of the forest behind. Nice shower. Great facilities with a pool, jacuzzi, bar restaurant. Good location. Friendly helpful staff.
The welcome, Welsh speaking staff, location, good food and comfort.
The weather was very wet and windy - but we had the appropriate clothing and the countryside was spectacular.
Comfort Setting / Location (amazing) Food Hospitality and friendliness of staff. Entertainment Cleanliness Value for money
Due to the hotel being in a mountainous region, the Wifi was not always available and access to mobile phone connection was also hit and miss in the room. Access was available in other areas of the hotel if you moved to find a spot where it could pick up the signals.
- lovely area, - short walk to town, - staff were very friendly & helpful,
- mattresses were not the most comfortable,
The attentiveness of all staff, morning, noon, evening. The chalet room 43, like a home from home and the warmth of the room. The food menu was superb and I looked forward to dinner every evening. The attention to H & S by salting all the steps.
On our previous visit I had a steak at dinner, the best I've ever had! Dinner on Sunday, I ordered a sirloin, medium to well. So disappointed, black on the outside, red in the middle. Credit on checkout - thank you. Next evening, fillet steak was just perfect!
The swimming pool.
We didn't realise it was a motel type hotel with rooms around a courtyard/carpark. We thought this was inconvenient and suitable for a lower quality/cheaper cost style accommodation offer. We like Best Western hotels but this was one of the most expensive we stayed in and not of the usual high standard. We wished we had stayed in a different hotel in this location. I have never given a review before and don't usually count the faults but this had lots of small things the matter (bathroom door handle broken,1 sofa bed between my 2 sons nearly 13 and 15, no info on wifi, juice drink at breakfast undrinkable). My husband thought I must have got the hotel v cheap but was the most expensive night we have had in years.
lovely part of Wales nice clean hotel staff were very pleasant always happy too help . Great leisure facilities , great food shame it was not in the centre
Secure lockup for bikes great breakfast good pool and sauna great location superb carvery
Staff were friendly and helpful very polite
Noisy neighbours, TV on loud until early hours
Nice breakfast with good options for children and adults. Good pool to relax in and sauna / hotub for weary bones! Thanks
I liked it all! No problems here! Thanks
Our standard room in the stables block was nicely decorated, very warm and cosy, with a well stocked tea tray. The pool, sauna and steam room, is fantastic complementary facility. We particularly enjoyed the floatation aids and balls provided in the pool for a bit of fun. Cosy bar, with leather sofas and a fire, great for a night cap. Breakfast was self-service, with a good range of food on offer. Great location on the edge of the village, with a range of shops, bars and bistros in walking distance. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel, and would return.
We found the pool temperature a little cool for the time of year, but soon heated up in the sauna. Breakfast was chaotic as the hotel was so busy and we did have to fend for ourselves a bit –finding a spare chair and crockery etc, but this was not a problem. The wifi signal here is poor, but then it is nice to get away from the internet sometimes.
Within an easy walk to restaurants and shops. Good centre for sightseeing all of North Wales
