The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The staff were helpful and their knowledge of the area was good. There was unfortunately a nasty smell in the bathroom which did not go away during our time there.

Nice views. Not a bad breakfast for £5.99 We had a twin room and one of the beds squeaked with the least movement making sleep impossible.I pointed this out the next morning to the receptionist who didn`t seem in the least interested!. It also took a considerable time to get served at the bar,the barman seemed to have a lot of other jobs to do

the cleanliness of room, bedding and crockery, staff friendly and as helpful as possible the price of drinks at the bar, the fact that it is Not at the waters edge and on a dangerous corner. with a sreep incline upto the hotel , so not for disabled or sighly infirm ,also the evening menu was not as I would describe "dinner" more like a basic lunch menu at a caff.

Having stayed before for a couple of nights last summer,we had no hesitation in booking for an overnight stay for a family funeral. The hotels location is perfect for a stay in Torquay. Although it is winter and redecorating is taking place, there was no smell of paint in our room, and staff were probably at a minimum level, there was no evidence of this. We were dealt with efficiently and quickly during our stay. Breakfast was good and served well. For the price it was excellent value.

Close to beach. Friendly attentive staff. The en-suite was too small. Beds and floorboards creaked. Vehicle access from hotel onto road is on a bend in a busy road.

My room was comfortable and nicely decorated, the shower was large and clean. Breakfast didn;t start until 8pm , too late for me to have breakfast and get to work. I asked for a receipt the night before I left and I had to wait in the morning to get it, making me late for work. The walls where very thin and I could hear the occupant of the next room snoring and his alarm at 5.45am !! When I arrived there was no one at the desk even though they were expecting me as I phoned ahead. When a staff memeber saw me they went to get the man but he told them to hang on with no regard to my waiting to book in.

The comfort of the rooms,. The fresh, spotless bed linen, towels and dining linen. The peacefulness and calm atmosphere in the hotel. The hotel was in walking distance of the town. The receptionist advised us where to go in Torquay for our evening meal. I booked a single room for myself and a double for other family members and was a little unsure about doing so after reading previous guests comments. However I need not have worried the Waters Edge was perfect for us. The parking is on a slope and the hotel entrance is at the top which could cause some problems for people who have difficulty walking..
