dinner was excellent and we told the chef how pleased we were with the dinner. Excellent service form the hotel manager. the smell of the room, a new shower curtain was needed in the bathroom, the bed was very squeekey, The breakfast was not very nice at all. e.g really cheap sausages and terrible scrambled egg!! More tea facilities needed as long queue meant breakfast was cold

the relaxed atmosphere and the additional facilties, both the room and the meals were excellent value for money My room was next to the sliding entrance door, its noise transmitted to the room was annoying but as it stopped when the front door closed for the night, it didn't disturb my sleep

Clean rooms, a little dated but good for the price I paid. Don't worry about booking here as long as you don't pay too much! Bed was a bit soft, bar prices too high

Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Last time I stayed I had a lovely room but this time my room looked very tired and was in much need of attention. The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows need to be replaced. The bathroom tap wouldn't turn off completely so kept dripping. Whole room needed a make over.

Staff were very friendly The hotel is an 'add-on' to a very busy leisure centre. This means that you may have to park some considerable distance away from the hotel as it is a shared car park. Restaurant was closed on the evening I stayed. Only bar meals were available. I had a room near to the entrance. The constant openiong and closing of doors was quite noisy.

It was reasonably priced, the staff were very sweet, albeit a few were clueless. My room was clean. My room had plaster falling off the wall, the clue to the damp problem being in the name of the hotel! There was no remote control to the telly (quickly rectified), neither bedside light worked, the chair virtually fell to bits when I moved it, and the bed was uncomfortable. In the morning the waitress in the restaurant expressed surprise when I said my room number and informed me that it hadnt been cleaned that afternoon when she checked (what an admission). Fortunately I am an avid sheet and bathroom checker so it looked as if it had been cleaned. Then I was told there was no hot water so I had to take a tea bag in a cup back to my room, boil my kettle and go back to the restaurant. Quite funny really, never stayed anywhere like that before, but it was cheap and cheerful. The breakfast food was very nice.

Hotel is bit old and rooms are in need of TLC. On arrival room was cold until I myself adjusted the radiator which being really old made a banging noise all through the night and temperature was hard to get right. The room was also fairly drafty and bathroom bit tired. There was wireless in the hotel but network was patcy. Wireless worked on arrival but the following morning could not get any connectivity.

Staff very friendly and helpful, and the food good. Location is very poor - very close to motorway, which is not clear from the website. First room I was offered was simply too noisy with the window open. Second was a little better, but the bathroom was a disaster. Toilet was so cramped it wasn't possible to sit on it other than sideways (and I am medium build), and shower was a wet room arrangement. So small that literally everything in the room gets wet, and a pool of water remained over the whole floor for a long time afterwards, rendering the bathroom effectively unuseable after a shower.

The stafff at the Waterside were all really friendly. The restaurant and bar were both overpriced. The service in the bar impeccable by the bar manager but the restaurant waitress although friendly very slow and inexperienced. I asked our waitress a couple of questions about the menu and she just said she didn't know (she didn't even go to find out) I was first given the wrong menu and then a new one (which was twice the price) It took ages for the food to arrive and I couldn't get anyones attention throughout the whole meal to ask for some mustard. I had to grab serviettes from the next table and then in the end go out to reception ask for the bill as there weren't any servers around. I paid over £60 for a couple of burgers, a bottle of wine and bad service! They need to put the breakfast waitress on in the evenings as she was very attentive and obviously experienced. Altogether a very poor experience.

We attended a wedding at the waterside and the function itself was great (apart from the air conditioning having broken down). Breakfast was very good and plentiful. The bed wasn't very comfy (we didn't know this until we tried to sleep) the tap wouldn't stop running in the bathroom and there was no knob on the bath taps to select from bath to shower (didn't realise this until the next morning ) As we were at a wedding we didn't use the room until very late at night/the next morning so didn't complain about it as the faults weren't realised until late. We also thought the drinks in the hotel were not very good. The beer was awful and very expensive. Small bottle of water £2 but yet other soft drinks £1.

Good location for my business trip Room was downstairs and tiny - could not even see the TV from the bed. Bathroom was in need of refurb. No phone signal! Oh, and for a spa/health/sport hotel why no Sky Sports???

Very friendly staff and always had a smile, nothing was too much trouble, food was good but limited choice, value for money. Menu could be improved to more simple meals although food was good. If your staying on a Saturday then it could get a little noisy up to 11:00pm as they had isco that night.

The only thing I can find good to say about my stay was that the coffee was good in the bar. I chose the hotel for two things: 'set in groomed gardens and grounds' for a bit of peace & quiet and 'free WiFi'. I find that the only space is the car park and the road noise is appalling, right through the night. The free WiFi was at the pathetic rate of 11Mbps when it was functioning at all (it kept dropping out) and the morning of work I had scheduled to do was not possible. The room had only one available plug socket point half-way up a wall under the TV. This meant that charging my phone or working with my laptop plugged in had wires trailing and hanging across to the bed and I had to sit on the bed to use my laptop - why aren't there plugs to use at the small desk?? There was a rip in one of my pillowcases and mould on the ceiling in the bathroom, the chair was so dirty I put a towel over it before I sat on it. I asked for an iron but the plate was covered in rust and other crud which made it unuseable. I would not stay there again. I can only presume that the leisure club part of their business is the most lucrative and therefore they don't bother too much with the hotel side of things. ... and the breakfast was awful!

“Very comfortable hotel, free Wi-Fi which makes it very easy when travelling for business purpose. Feel like being at home. I really appreciate going to this hotel. And very competitive pricing. Nice restaurant-pub nextdoor to take breakfast and dinner, they organise special pie nights, curry nights, etc.” Veronique, Wemmel |
